1 Timothy 2

1 I urge then, first of al that petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving should be offered foreveryone,	1 Adunque prego siano fatte, prima di tutte l'altre cose, preghiere e orazioni e dimandamenti e referimento di grazie per tutti li uomini,
2 for kings and others in authority, so that we may be able to live peaceful and quiet lives with al devotionand propriety.	2 e per tutti i re, e per tutti coloro che son ordinati in alcuna altezza di signorìa, acciò che noi abbiamo vita quieta e tranquilla, con ogni pietà e castità.
3 To do this is right, and acceptable to God our Saviour:	3 E questo è buono e piacevole davanti a Dio nostro Salvatore.
4 he wants everyone to be saved and reach full knowledge of the truth.	4 Il quale vuole che tutti gli uomini sieno salvi, e che vengano a conoscimento della verità.
5 For there is only one God, and there is only one mediator between God and humanity, himself a humanbeing, Christ Jesus,	5 Chè Dio è uno, e uno tramezzatore tra Dio e li uomini, cioè l'uomo Iesù Cristo;
6 who offered himself as a ransom for al . This was the witness given at the appointed time,	6 il quale diede sè medesimo per ricomperare noi e tutti gli altri; il testimonio del quale è (confermato) ne' suoi tempi.
7 of which I was appointed herald and apostle and -- I am telling the truth and no lie -- a teacher of thegentiles in faith and truth.	7 Nel qual testimonio io son posto predicatore e apostolo; verità dico a voi, e non mento (in Iesù Cristo); io son ammaestratore delle genti in fede e in verità.
8 In every place, then, I want the men to lift their hands up reverently in prayer, with no anger or argument.	8 Adunque voglio che gli uomini debbano orare in ogni luogo, levando le mani pure (al cielo), senza ira e senza discordia.
9 Similarly, women are to wear suitable clothes and to be dressed quietly and modestly, without braidedhair or gold and jewellery or expensive clothes;	9 Simigliantemente le femine, con abito ornato, e con vergogna e con temperanza ornandosi, non con capelli torti (ornate) nè con corone, ovver con margarite e con preziose vestimenta,
10 their adornment is to do the good works that are proper for women who claim to be religious.	10 ma con quelle cose che si convengono alle femine (oneste), dimostrando pietà per buone opere.
11 During instruction, a woman should be quiet and respectful.	11 La femina imprenda con silenzio, con ogni soggezione.
12 I give no permission for a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. A woman ought to be quiet,	12 E non permetto che la femina (insegni e) ammaestri li uomini, nè che li signorizzi; anzi si posi in silenzio.
13 because Adam was formed first and Eve afterwards,	13 Imperò che Adam in prima fu formato, e poi fu fatta Eva.
14 and it was not Adam who was led astray but the woman who was led astray and fell into sin.	14 Adam non fu (ingannato nè) sedotto (dal serpente); ma la femina fu sedotta, e fu nel prevaricamento (del comandamento di Dio).
15 Nevertheless, she will be saved by child-bearing, provided she lives a sensible life and is constant infaith and love and holiness.	15 Ma ella sarà salva per generazione delli figliuoli, se ella permanerà in fede e amore, e in santificazione con temperanza.
