Jeremiah 6

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Flee in a body, Benjaminites, right away from Jerusalem! Sound the trumpet in Tekoa! Light the beaconon Beth-ha-Cherem! For disaster lowers from the north, an immense calamity.	1 Cercate scampo, o figli di Beniamino, fuori di Gerusalemme; in Tekòa suonate la tromba e su Bet-Chèrem alzate il segnale, perché è imminente dal nord sventura e disastro grande.
2 Beautiful, delicate as she is, I shal destroy the daughter of Zion!	2 Io voglio distruggere il paese e la delizia della figlia di Sion.
3 Shepherds are advancing on her with their flocks. They have pitched their tents all round her, eachgrazes his part.	3 In essa entreranno pastori e le loro greggi; pianteranno contro di lei le tende all'intorno, pasceranno ciascuno la parte sua.
4 Prepare for holy war against her! To arms! We shall attack at noon! Disaster for us! The light is fading,the evening shadows lengthen.	4 Proclamate contro di essa la guerra santa. Orsù, assaltiamola a mezzogiorno! Infelici noi! Declina il giorno; si allungano le ombre della sera!
5 To arms! We shall attack at night and destroy her palaces.	5 Orsù, assaltiamola di notte e distruggiamo i suoi palazzi!
6 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, 'Cut down trees, throw up an earthwork outside Jerusalem: this is thecity to be punished, with nothing but oppression in her.	6 Così, infatti, dice il Signore degli eserciti: "Tagliate i suoi alberi e stendete contro Gerusalemme un terrapieno. Essa è la città punita, tutta intera è oppressione nel suo interno!
7 As a wel keeps its water fresh so she keeps her wickedness fresh. Violence and ruin are what you hearin her, wounds and blows always forced on my attention.	7 Come fa scaturire un pozzo le sue acque, così essa fa scaturire la sua malvagità: violenza e devastazione si ode in essa; davanti a me sta costantemente dolore e percossa.
8 Reform, Jerusalem, or I shal turn my attention away from you and reduce you to a desert, a land withoutpeople.'	8 Làsciati correggere, o Gerusalemme, altrimenti s'allontana da te l'anima mia, altrimenti ti ridurrò a una desolazione, a un paese non abitato".
9 Yahweh Sabaoth says this, 'They will glean, glean what is left of Israel like a vine. Like a grape-picker,pass your hand again over the branches!'	9 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: "Racimolate accuratamente come nella vigna il resto di Israele; ripassa la tua mano come il vendemmiatore sopra i tralci".
10 To whom should I speak, whom warn, for them to hear? Look, their ears are uncircumcised, theycannot listen. Look, for them Yahweh's word is something to sneer at, they have no taste for it.	10 A chi parlerò e chi scongiurerò perché ascolti? Ecco: incirconciso è il loro orecchio e non possono dare ascolto; ecco: la parola del Signore è divenuta per essi vituperio e non si compiacciono in essa.
11 So I am full of Yahweh's wrath, I am weary of holding it in. Then pour it on the children in the streets,and on the bands of youths as wel , for husband and wife wil both be taken, the greybeard and the man weigheddown with years.	11 E io sono pieno dello sdegno del Signore, mi sono stancato nel trattenerlo. "Riversalo sul lattante nella strada e sui giovani riuniti insieme, perché sia l'uomo che la donna saran catturati, sia il vecchio che l'uomo pieno di giorni.
12 Their houses wil pass to other men, so wil their fields and wives. Yes, I shal stretch my hand overthose living in this country, Yahweh declares.	12 Ad altri passeranno le loro case, i campi e le donne insieme, poiché io stenderò la mia mano sugli abitanti del paese". Oracolo del Signore.
13 For, from the least to greatest, they are al greedy for gain; prophet no less than priest, al of thempractise fraud.	13 Sì, dal più piccolo al più grande, ognuno di essi si applica all'avarizia; dal profeta al sacerdote, ognuno di essi agisce falsamente.
14 Without concern they dress my people's wound, saying, 'Peace! Peace!' whereas there is no peace.	14 Essi curano la ferita del mio popolo alla leggera. Dicono: "Salute! Salute!", ma non c'è salute!
15 They should be ashamed of their loathsome deeds. Not they! They feel no shame, they do not evenknow how to blush. And so as others fall, they too wil fal , will be thrown down when I come and punish them,Yahweh says.	15 Arrossiscano perché compiono abominazioni! Di nessuna onta arrossiscono più, né sanno più vergognarsi! "Per questo cadranno tra quelli che cadono: nel tempo che saran visitati saranno prostrati", dice il Signore!
16 Yahweh says this, 'Stand at the crossroads and look, ask for the ancient paths: which was the goodway? Take it and you wil find rest for yourselves. But they have said, "We wil not take it."	16 Così dice il Signore: "Arrestatevi sulle vie e osservate e informatevi dei sentieri antichi; camminate per quella che è la via migliore e troverete riposo per voi stessi". Ma risposero: "Non vogliamo camminarvi!".
17 I posted look-outs on your behalf: Listen to the sound of the trumpet! But they said, "We will not listen."	17 "Ho posto su di voi delle sentinelle: badate allo squillo della tromba!". Ma risposero: "Non vi badiamo!".
18 Then hear, you nations, and know, assembly, what is going to happen to them!	18 "Perciò ascoltate, o nazioni, e sappi, o assemblea, quello che farò contro di loro.
19 Listen, earth! Watch, I shal bring disaster on this people: it is the fruit of the way they think, since theyhave not listened to my words nor to my law, but have rejected it.	19 Ascolta, o paese! Ecco: io farò venire la sventura su questo popolo qual frutto dei loro pensieri, perché non badarono alle mie parole né alla mia legge e prevaricarono contro di essa.
20 What do I care about incense imported from Sheba, or fragrant cane from a distant country? Your burntofferings are not acceptable, your sacrifices do not please me.'	20 Cosa m'importa che venga incenso da Saba e cannella ottima da paese lontano? I vostri olocausti non sono di mio gradimento e i vostri sacrifici non mi piacciono".
21 And so, Yahweh says this, 'In front of this people I shal now lay obstacles for them to stumble over;father and son alike, neighbour and friend will perish.'	21 Per questo così dice il Signore: "Ecco: io tenderò contro questo popolo dei lacci e inciamperanno contro di essi, padri e figli insieme, l'amico e il suo vicino insieme".
22 Yahweh says this, 'Look, a people is coming from the land of the north, from the far ends of the earth agreat nation is rising;	22 Così dice il Signore: "Ecco: un popolo viene dal paese del nord e una nazione grande si muove dall'estremità della terra.
23 they are armed with bow and spear, they are cruel and pitiless; their noise is like the roaring of the sea;they are riding horses, they are ready to fight against you as one man, against you, daughter of Zion.	23 Impugnano saldamente arco e lancia, sono crudeli e non hanno compassione; il loro grido è come mare che si agita e galoppano sopra cavalli. Sono pronti come un guerriero contro di te, figlia di Sion".
24 We have heard the news, our hands fal limp, anguish has gripped us, pain like that of a woman inlabour.	24 "Abbiamo inteso la sua fama, sono cadute le nostre mani; l'angustia ci ha afferrati, come lo spasimo di una partoriente".
25 Do not go out into the countryside, do not venture onto the roads, for the enemy's sword is there, terroron every side.	25 Non uscire al campo, non camminare per via, perché la spada del nemico è spavento all'intorno.
26 Put on sackcloth, daughter of my people, rol in ashes; mourn as for an only son, a very bitter dirge. Foron us suddenly the destroyer is coming.	26 Figlia del popolo mio, cingiti di sacco, ravvolgiti nella polvere; fa' lutto come per un figlio unico, pianto amarissimo, perché all'improvviso verrà il distruttore contro di noi!
27 'I have appointed you as tester of my people, to learn and to test how they behave.	27 Qual esperto ti posi tra il mio popolo, quale fortezza, perché conoscessi ed esaminassi la loro condotta.
28 Al of them are total rebels peddlers of slander, hard as bronze and iron, al agents of corruption.	28 Tutti sono ribelli, vanno sparlando; rame e ferro, tutti sono corruttori.
29 The bel ows blast away to make the fire burn away the lead. In vain the smelter does his work, for thedross is not purged out.	29 Il mantice sbuffa perché sia liquefatto il piombo; invano fonde il fonditore mentre le scorie non si staccano.
30 "Silver-reject", men cal them, and indeed Yahweh has rejected them!'	30 "Argento di rifiuto" chiamateli, perché il Signore li ha rifiutati.
