Jeremiah 19

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Then Yahweh said to Jeremiah, 'Go and buy a potter's earthenware jug. Take some of the people'selders and some of the senior priests with you.	1 Questo dice Iddio: va, e togli uno barile piccolo, (di quello artefice cioè) del pentolaio, e sia testereccia delli antichi del popolo, e de' più antichi de' sacerdoti.
2 Go out towards the Valley of Ben-Hinnom, just outside the Gate of the Potsherds. There proclaim thewords I shall say to you.	2 Ed esci fuori alla valle de' figliuoli d' Ennom, la quale è allato all' entrare della porta; e predicherai ivi le parole che io dirò a te.
3 You must say, "Kings of Judah, inhabitants of Jerusalem! Listen to the word of Yahweh! YahwehSabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: I am about to bring such a disaster on this place that the ears of every onewho hears of it wil ring.	3 E dirai: o re di Giuda, o abitatori di Ierusalem, udite la parola di Dio; questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d' Israel: ecco io menerò (e darò) afflizione in questo luogo; in tanto che chiunque udirà quella, risuonerà li suoi orecchi.
4 For they have abandoned me and have made this place unrecognisable, and offered incense here toother gods which neither they nor their ancestors nor the kings of Judah ever knew before. They have fil ed thisplace with the blood of the innocent;	4 Però che m' hanno abbandonato, e feceno questo luogo straniero; per che sacrificarono in quello luogo alli iddii istranii, i quali elli non conobbono, nè egli nè i padri loro nè li re di Giuda; e riempierono questo luogo di sangue innocente.
5 for they have built high places for Baal to burn their sons as burnt offerings to Baal, a thing I neverordered, never mentioned, that had never entered my thoughts.	5 Edificarono li alti luoghi (e le grandi cose) di Baalim ad ardere li loro figliuoli con fuoco in sacrificio a quello Baalim (cioè a quello loro idolo); le quali cose io non comandai e non parlai, e non ascesero nel cuore mio.
6 So now the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when people will no longer cal this place Topheth, orVal ey of Ben-Hinnom, but Val ey of Slaughter.	6 Ed ecco però li di vengono, dice Iddio, e non si chiamerà questo luogo Tofet nè Valle de' figliuoli d' Ennom, ma Valle di uccisione.
7 Because of this place, I shall empty Judah and Jerusalem of sound advice; I shall make them fall bythe sword before their enemies, by the hand of those determined to kil them; I shal give their corpses as food tothe birds of the sky and the animals of earth.	7 E dissiparò lo consiglio di Giuda e di Ierusalem in questo luogo; e volgerolli sotto sopra con coltello nel [cons]petto de' suoi nimici, in mano delli ricercanti l'anime loro; e darò li loro corpi in cibo alli uccelli del cielo e alle bestie della terra.
8 And I shal make this city an object of horror and derision; every passer-by will be appal ed at it andwhistle at the sight of al the wounds it has sustained.	8 E porrò questa cittade in stupore e in sufolamento; e ogni uomo che le appartiene obstuperà e sufolerà sopra la universa piaga sua.
9 I shal make them eat the flesh of their own sons and daughters: they wil eat one another during thesiege, in the shortage to which their enemies, and those determined to kil them, will reduce them."	9 E darò loro in cibo le carni delli loro figliuoli; e ciascuno mangerà la carne del suo amico nell' assedio e nella angustia, nella quale li rinchiuderanno li nimici loro, e quelli che addomandano l'anime loro.
10 'You must break this jug in front of the men who are with you,	10 E romperai il barile innanzi alli occhi delli uomini i quali anderanno con voi.
11 and say to them, "Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I am going to break this people and this city just as onebreaks a potter's pot, so that it can never be mended again. "Topheth wil become a burial ground, for lack ofother burial space.	11 E dirai a loro: questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti e così romperò questo populo e questa cittade, come (si rompe e come) si tritola lo vaso del pentolaio, il quale non si puote più ristorare (cioè rifare come in prima); e in Tofet si sotterreranno, però che non sia altro luogo da sotterrare.
12 That is how I shal treat this place, Yahweh declares, and its inhabitants, by making this city likeTopheth.	12 Così farò a questo luogo, dice Iddio, e a quelli che àbitano, acciò ch' io ponga questa città come Tofet.
13 The houses of Jerusalem and those of the kings of Judah, al the houses on the roofs of which theyoffered incense to the whole array of heaven and poured libations to other gods, wil be unclean, like this placeTopheth." '	13 E saranno le case di Ierusalem e le case delli re di Giuda, come Tofet, immonde; tutte le case, sotto li tetti delle quali sacrificarono ad ogni milizia del cielo, e sacrificarono sacrificii alli idii stranieri.
14 Jeremiah then came back from Topheth where Yahweh had sent him to prophesy, and stood in thecourt of the Temple of Yahweh and said to al the people,	14 E Ieremia venne da Tofet, dove l'avea mandato Iddio a profetare, e istette nel portico della casa di Dio, e disse a tutto il popolo:
15 'Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, "Yes, on this city, and on all the towns belonging to it, Ishall bring all the disaster which I had decreed for it, since they have stubbornly refused to listen to my words." '	15 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti. Iddio d' Israel: ecco io inducerò sopra questa cittade, e sopra tutte le [sue] terre tutti li universi mali, i quali hoe parlato contro a lei; perciò che hanno indurato lo loro collo, e non udirono li detti miei.
