Isaiah 13

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Proclamation about Babylon, seen by Isaiah son of Amoz.	1 Il carico di Babilonia, il quale Isaia figliuolo di Amos vide.
2 On a bare hill hoist a signal, shout for them, beckon them to come to the Nobles' Gate.	2 LEVATE la bandiera sopra un alto monte, alzate la voce a coloro, scotete la mano, e dite che entrino nelle porte dei principi.
3 I have issued orders to my sacred warriors, I have summoned my heroes to serve my anger, my proudchampions.	3 Io ho data commissione a’ miei deputati; ed anche, per eseguir l’ira mia, ho chiamati i miei uomini prodi, gli uomini trionfanti della mia altezza.
4 The noise of a great crowd in the mountains, like an immense people, the tumultuous sound ofkingdoms, of nations mustering: it is Yahweh Sabaoth marshal ing the troops for battle.	4 Vi è un romore di moltitudine sopra i monti, simile a quello di un gran popolo; vi è un romore risonante de’ regni delle nazioni adunate; il Signor degli eserciti rassegna l’esercito della gente di guerra.
5 They come from a distant country, from the far horizons, Yahweh and the instruments of his fury to laythe whole country waste.	5 Il Signore e gli strumenti della sua indegnazione vengono di lontan paese, dall’estremità del cielo, per distrugger tutta la terra
6 Howl! For the Day of Yahweh is near, coming like devastation from Shaddai.	6 Urlate; perciocchè il giorno del Signore è vicino; egli verrà come un guastamento fatto dall’Onnipotente.
7 This is why al hands fal limp, why al the men are losing heart;	7 Perciò, tutte le mani diventeranno fiacche, ed ogni cuor d’uomo si struggerà.
8 they are panic-stricken, seized with pains and convulsions; they writhe like a woman in labour, theylook at one another appal ed, with feverish faces.	8 Ed essi saranno smarriti; tormenti e doglie li coglieranno; sentiranno dolori, come la donna che partorisce; saranno tutti sbigottiti, riguardandosi l’un l’altro; le lor facce saranno come facce divampate dalle fiamme.
9 Look, the Day of Yahweh is coming, merciless, with wrath and burning anger, to reduce the country toa desert and root out the sinners from it.	9 Ecco, il giorno del Signore viene, giorno crudele, e d’indegnazione, e d’ira accesa, per metter la terra in desolazione, e per distrugger da essa i suoi peccatori.
10 For in the sky the stars and Orion wil shed their light no longer, the sun wil be dark when it rises, andthe moon will no longer give its light.	10 Perciocchè le stelle dei cieli, e gli astri di quelli non faranno lucere la lor luce; il sole scurerà, quando si leverà; e la luna non farà risplendere la sua luce.
11 I am going to punish the world for its wickedness and the wicked for their guilt, and put an end to thepride of the arrogant and humble the haughtiness of despots.	11 Ed io, dice il Signore, punirò il mondo della sua malvagità, e gli empi della loro iniquità; e farò cessar l’alterezza de’ superbi, ed abbatterò l’orgoglio de’ violenti.
12 I shal make people scarcer than pure gold, human life scarcer than the gold of Ophir.	12 Io farò che un uomo sarà più pregiato che oro fino, e una persona più che oro di Ofir.
13 This is why I am going to shake the heavens, why the earth wil reel on its foundations, under thewrath of Yahweh Sabaoth, the day when his anger ignites.	13 Perciò, io crollerò il cielo, e la terra tremerà, e sarà smossa dal suo luogo, per l’indegnazione del Signor degli eserciti, e per lo giorno dell’ardor dell’ira sua.
14 Then like a hunted gazel e, like sheep that nobody gathers in, everyone will head back to his people,everyone wil flee to his native land.	14 Ed essi saranno come un cavriuolo cacciato, e come pecore che niuno accoglie; ciascuno si volterà verso il suo popolo, e ciascuno fuggirà al suo paese.
15 Al those who are found wil be stabbed, al those captured wil fal by the sword,	15 Chiunque sarà trovato sarà trafitto, e chiunque si sarà aggiunto con loro caderà per la spada.
16 their babies dashed to pieces before their eyes, their houses plundered, their wives raped.	16 E i lor fanciulletti saranno schiacciati davanti agli occhi loro; le lor case saranno rubate, e le lor mogli violate.
17 Look, against them I am stirring up the Medes who care nothing for silver, who set no value by gold.	17 Ecco, io eccito contro a loro i Medi, i quali non faranno stima alcuna dell’argento, e non vorranno oro.
18 Bows wil annihilate the young men, they wil have no pity for the fruit of the womb, or mercy in theireyes for children.	18 E con gli archi loro atterreranno i fanciulli, e non avranno pietà del frutto del ventre; e l’occhio loro non risparmierà i figlioletti
19 And Babylon, that pearl of kingdoms, that splendid jewel of the Chaldaeans, wil , like Sodom andGomorrah, be overthrown by God.	19 E Babilonia, la gloria de’ regni, la magnificenza della superbia dei Caldei, sarà sovvertita, come Iddio sovvertì Sodoma e Gomorra.
20 Never again will anyone live there or reside there for al generations to come. Never again wil theArab pitch his tent there, or the shepherds bring their flocks to rest.	20 Ella non sarà giammai più in piè, nè sarà abitata per alcuna età, nè pur vi pianteranno gli Arabi i lor padiglioni, nè vi stabbieranno i pastori.
21 But beasts of the desert wil make their haunt there and owls fill their houses, there ostriches wil settletheir home, there goats will dance.	21 Ma quivi giaceranno le fiere de’ deserti; e le lor case saranno piene di gran serpenti, e l’ulule vi abiteranno, e vi salteranno i demoni.
22 Hyenas wil howl in its towers, jackals in its delightful palaces, for its doom is about to come and itsdays wil not last long.	22 E i gufi canteranno nelle lor case grandi, e i dragoni ne’ lor palazzi di diletto. Or il tempo di essa viene, ed è vicino, e i suoi giorni non saran prolungati
