1 Strongly she reaches from one end of the world to the other and she governs the whole world for itsgood.	1 Ella dunque aggiugne dalla fine alla fine, e dispone soavemente (e fortemente) tutte le cose.
2 Wisdom I loved and searched for from my youth; I resolved to have her as my bride, I fel in love withher beauty.	2 Io amai costei, e cercaine infino della giovinezza mia; e cercai di torla per mia sposa, e sono fatto amatore della sua bellezza.
3 She enhances her noble birth by sharing God's life, for the Master of Al has always loved her.	3 L'uso di Dio glorifica la sua nobiltade; e Iddio di tutte le opere amoe lei.
4 Indeed, she shares the secrets of God's knowledge, and she chooses what he wil do.	4 Ella è (maestra e) dottrinante della scienza di Dio, e sì è eleggitrice delle opere di colui.
5 If in this life wealth is a desirable possession, what is more wealthy than Wisdom whose work iseverywhere?	5 E se in la vita amate sono le ricchezze, qual cosa è più ricca che la sapienza, la quale opera tutte le cose?
6 Or if it be the intel ect that is at work, who, more than she, designs whatever exists?	6 Se il senno adopera tutte le cose, qual è di queste cose, che sono, più artefice (di quelle) della sapienza?
7 Or if it be uprightness you love, why, virtues are the fruit of her labours, since it is she who teachestemperance and prudence, justice and fortitude; nothing in life is more useful for human beings.	7 E se alcuno ama la giustizia, le operazioni della sapienza hanno in ciò grande virtude; però che insegna temperanza e prudenza, e virtude e giustizia, delle quali nulla è meglio alli uomini nella loro vita.
8 Or if you are eager for wide experience, she knows the past, she forecasts the future; she knows how toturn maxims, and solve riddles; she has foreknowledge of signs and wonders, and of the unfolding of the agesand the times.	8 E se alcuno desidera grande moltitudine di scienza, sae le cose passate, ed estima di quelle che sono a venire; egli sae le malizie e ingegni delli uomini, e sae dissolvere li argomenti; e sae (gl' ingegni delli uomini e) le cose che debbono venire inanzi che sieno, e li avvenimenti delli tempi e delli secoli.
9 I therefore determined to take her to share my life, knowing that she would be my counsel or inprosperity and comfort me in cares and sorrow.	9 Io mi proposi di menare al mio convito la sapienza, sapiendo ch' ella comunicherae meco dei beni, e sarae uno alleggiamento e conforto del mio pensiero e del mio increscimento.
10 'Thanks to her, I shal be admired by the masses and honoured, though young, by the elders.	10 Io hoe per costei claritade appo li popoli, e onore appo li vecchii, giovane.
11 I shall be reckoned shrewd as a judge, and the great wil be amazed at me.	11 Acuto (e bene disposto) sarò trovato nel giudicio, e sarò mirabile nel conspetto de' potenti; e le faccie de' principi si maraviglieranno di me.
12 They wil wait on my silences, and pay attention when I speak; if I speak at some length, they wil laytheir hand on their lips.	12 Loro sosteneranno me tacente, e guarderanno me parlante; e porranno la sua mano in su la sua bocca, quando sermoneroe più cose.
13 By means of her, immortality wil be mine, I shal leave an everlasting memory to my successors.	13 Per costei avrò immortalitade, e a quelli che saranno dopo me eterna memoria.
14 I shall govern peoples, and nations wil be subject to me;	14 (Io per lei) ordinerò li popoli; e le genti saranno sottoposte a me.
15 at the sound of my name fearsome despots will be afraid; I shal show myself kind to the people andvaliant in battle.	15 Li re che mi ascolteranno temeranno me, (e temeranno me) li re terribili; e appariroe nella moltitudine buono, e nella battaglia forte.
16 'When I go home I shal take my ease with her, for nothing is bitter in her company, when life is sharedwith her there is no pain, nothing but pleasure and joy.'	16 Ed entrando in casa mia, mi riposerò con lei; la sua conversazione non hae amaritudine; il suo convento non ha fastidio, ma letizia e gaudio.
17 Having meditated on al this, and having come to the conclusion that immortality resides in kinship withWisdom,	17 Pensando queste cose appo me, e commemorando nel cuore mio, che la sapienza è immortale in lo intelletto e conoscimento,
18 noble contentment in her friendship, inexhaustible riches in her activities, understanding in cultivatingher society, and renown in conversing with her, I went al ways, seeking how to get her.	18 e che nella sua amistade è buona dilettazione, e che nell' opere delle mani sue sì è (amistade e) onestade sanza difetto, e che nel contendimento del suo parlare è sapienza, e molto grande chiarezza nella comunicazione de' suoi sermoni; io cercando andava d' intorno per tormela.
19 I was a boy of happy disposition, I had received a good soul as my lot,	19 Io era fanciullo ingegnoso, e hoe acquistata buona anima.
20 or rather, being good, I had entered an undefiled body;	20 E allora che io era più buono, venni allo corpo non corrotto.
21 but, realising that I could never possess Wisdom unless God gave her to me, -a sign of intel igence initself, to know in whose gift she lay -- I prayed to the Lord and entreated him, and with all my heart I said:	21 E quando seppi che io non poteva essere altrimenti continente, se Iddio non lo dà; e che questa medesima cosa era dalla sapienza, per sapere di cui era questo dono; andai a Dio, e pregai lui, e dissi con tutto il mio cuore:
