Exodus 20

NEW JERUSALEM	Biblija Hrvatski
1 Then God spoke al these words. He said,	1 Onda Bog izgovori sve ove riječi:
2 'I am Yahweh your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you lived as slaves.	2 »Ja sam Jahve, Bog tvoj, koji sam te izveo iz zemlje egipatske, iz kuće ropstva.
3 'You shal have no other gods to rival me.	3 Nemoj imati drugih bogova uz mene.
4 'You shal not make yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything in heaven above or on earthbeneath or in the waters under the earth.	4 Ne pravi sebi lika ni obličja bilo čega što je gore na nebu, ili dolje na zemlji, ili u vodama pod zemljom.
5 'You shal not bow down to them or serve them. For I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God and Ipunish a parent's fault in the children, the grandchildren, and the great-grandchildren among those who hate me;	5 Ne klanjaj im se niti im služi. Jer ja, Jahve, Bog tvoj, Bog sam ljubomoran. Kažnjavam grijeh otaca – onih koji me mrze – na djeci do trećeg i četvrtog koljena,
6 but I act with faithful love towards thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.	6 a iskazujem milosrđe tisućama koji me ljube i vrše moje zapovijedi.
7 'You shal not misuse the name of Yahweh your God, for Yahweh wil not leave unpunished anyonewho misuses his name.	7 Ne uzimaj uzalud imena Jahve, Boga svoga, jer Jahve ne oprašta onome koji uzalud izgovara ime njegovo.
8 'Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.	8 Sjeti se da svetkuješ dan subotnji.
9 For six days you shal labour and do al your work,	9 Šest dana radi i obavljaj sav svoj posao.
10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath for Yahweh your God. You shal do no work that day, neither younor your son nor your daughter nor your servants, men or women, nor your animals nor the alien living with you.	10 A sedmoga je dana subota, počinak posvećen Jahvi, Bogu tvojemu. Tada nikakva posla nemoj raditi: ni ti, ni sin tvoj, ni kći tvoja, ni sluga tvoj, ni sluškinja tvoja, ni živina tvoja, niti došljak koji se nađe unutar tvojih vrata.
11 For in six days Yahweh made the heavens, earth and sea and al that these contain, but on theseventh day he rested; that is why Yahweh has blessed the Sabbath day and made it sacred.	11 Ta i Jahve je šest dana stvarao nebo, zemlju i more i sve što je u njima, a sedmoga je dana počinuo. Stoga je Jahve blagoslovio i posvetio dan subotnji.
12 'Honour your father and your mother so that you may live long in the land that Yahweh your God isgiving you.	12 Poštuj oca svoga i majku svoju da imadneš dug život na zemlji koju ti dâ Jahve, Bog tvoj.
13 'You shal not kil .	13 Ne ubij!
14 'You shal not commit adultery.	14 Ne učini preljuba!
15 'You shal not steal.	15 Ne ukradi!
16 'You shal not give false evidence against your neighbour.	16 Ne svjedoči lažno na bližnjega svoga!
17 'You shal not set your heart on your neighbour's house. You shal not set your heart on yourneighbour's spouse, or servant, man or woman, or ox, or donkey, or any of your neighbour's possessions.'	17 Ne poželi kuće bližnjega svoga! Ne poželi žene bližnjega svoga; ni sluge njegova, ni sluškinje njegove, ni vola njegova, ni magarca njegova, niti išta što je bližnjega tvoga!«
18 Seeing the thunder pealing, the lightning flashing, the trumpet blasting and the mountain smoking,the people were al terrified and kept their distance.	18 Sav je puk bio svjedok grmljavine i sijevanja, svi čuše zvuk trube i vidješe kako se brdo dimi: gledali su i tresli se i stajali podalje.
19 'Speak to us yourself,' they said to Moses, 'and we wil obey; but do not let God speak to us, or weshall die.'	19 Onda rekoše Mojsiju: »Ti nam govori, a mi ćemo slušati. Neka nam Bog ne govori, da ne pomremo!«
20 Moses said to the people, 'Do not be afraid; God has come to test you, so that your fear of him, beingalways in your mind, may keep you from sinning.'	20 »Ne bojte se«, reče Mojsije narodu. »Bog je došao da vas samo iskuša; da strah pred njim ostane s vama te da ne griješite.«
21 So the people kept their distance while Moses approached the dark cloud where God was.	21 Narod ostane podalje, a Mojsije pristupi gustom oblaku gdje se Bog nalazio.
22 Yahweh said to Moses, 'Tel the Israelites this, "You have seen for yourselves how I have spoken toyou from heaven.	22 »Ovako reci Izraelcima«, progovori Jahve Mojsiju. »Sami ste vidjeli da sam s vama govorio s neba.
23 You must not make gods of silver to rival me, nor must you make yourselves gods of gold.	23 Ne pravite uza me kumira od srebra niti sebi pravite kumira od zlata.
24 "You must make me an altar of earth on which to sacrifice your burnt offerings and communionsacrifices, your sheep and cattle. Wherever I choose to have my name remembered, I shal come to you andbless you.	24 Načini mi žrtvenik od zemlje i na njemu mi prinosi svoje žrtve paljenice i žrtve pričesnice, svoju sitnu i svoju krupnu stoku. Na svakome mjestu koje odredim da se moje ime spominje ja ću doći k tebi da te blagoslovim.
25 If you make me an altar of stone, do not build it of dressed stones; for if you use a chisel on it, youwil profane it.	25 Ako mi budeš gradio kameni žrtvenik, nemoj ga graditi od klesanoga kamena, jer čim na nj spustiš svoje dlijeto, oskvrnit ćeš ga.
26 You must not go up to my altar by steps, in case you expose your nakedness on them." '	26 Ne uzlazi na moj žrtvenik po stepenicama, da se ne pokaže na njemu golotinja tvoja.«
