NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Jehoshaphat king of Judah returned home safely, however, to Jerusalem.	1 Iosafat re di Giuda ritornò a casa sua con pace in Ierusalem.
2 Jehu son of Hanani the seer went to meet him and said to King Jehoshaphat, 'Should a man give helpto the wicked? Should you love those who hate Yahweh and so bring his retribution on yourself?	2 Al quale andò incontro Ieu figliuolo di Anani vidente, e disse a lui: tu dài all' empio aiuto, e a quelli tu se' congiunto per amistade, li quali hanno in odio il Signore; però tu meritavi l' ira del Signore.
3 Al the same, there are good things to your credit, since you have removed the sacred poles from thecountry and have set your heart on seeking God.'	3 Ma sono trovate in te buone operazioni, però che tu hai tolto via i boschi della terra di Giuda, e apparecchiasti il tuo cuore a cercare del Signore Iddio de' padri tuoi.
4 Jehoshaphat resided in Jerusalem but regularly went on progress among the people, from Beershebato the highlands of Ephraim, to convert them to Yahweh, God of their ancestors.	4 E Iosafat abitò in Ierusalem; e anco uscìo al popolo di Bersabee insino al monte di Efraim, e rivocollo al Signore Iddio de' suoi padri.
5 He also appointed judges in the country in every one of the fortified towns of Judah,	5 E ordinò gli giudici della terra in tutte le città di Giuda fornite, per ogni luogo.
6 saying to the judges, 'Be careful what you do, since you are judging not by any human power but inthe name of Yahweh, who will be with you when you pronounce sentence.	6 E dicendo comandò ai giudici: vedete quello che voi fate; voi non esercitate il giudicio degli uomini, ma quello di Dio; e ciò che voi giudicherete, ritornerà in voi.
7 This being so, let fear of Yahweh govern you; be careful what you do, for Yahweh our God wil nottolerate malpractice, partiality or the taking of bribes.'	7 Sia il timore di Dio in voi, e tutte le cose fate con diligenza; però che appo il nostro Signore Iddio non è iniquità, nè discernimento di persone, nè cupidità di doni.
8 Jehoshaphat also appointed some of the Levites, priests and heads of Israelite families in Jerusalemto settle disputes. They lived in Jerusalem	8 E in Ierusalem ordinò Iosafat i Leviti e' sacerdoti e' principi delle famiglie d' Israel, acciò che giudicassero il giudicio del Signore a' suoi abitatori.
9 and Jehoshaphat gave them the fol owing charge: 'In fear of Yahweh and with conscientious integrity,this is how you are to act:	9 E comandò loro, dicendo: così farete fedelmente nel timore di Dio, e con perfetto cuore,
10 whatever case your brothers living in other towns refer to you, whether involving blood feuds or lawand commandment, statutes and judgements, you are to instruct them in such manner that they do not incur guiltbefore Yahweh and that you and your brothers do not incur his anger. If you act thus, you will not incur guilt.	10 ogni questione, la quale verrà a voi, de' vostri fratelli i quali àbitano nelle loro cittadi tra parentado e parentado. In qualunque luogo nascerà questione della legge, del comandamento, delle cerimonie e delle giustificazioni, mostrate loro che non pecchino nel Signore; e non vegna in voi l'ira (del Signore) e ne' vostri fratelli; e facendo così non peccherete.
11 Amariah the chief priest himself wil be your president in al religious cases, and Zebadiah son ofIshmael, leader of the House of Judah, in al civil ones, while the Levites will act as officers of the court. Be firm,put this into practice and may Yahweh protect the right!'	11 E Amaria, vostro sacerdote e pontefice, sarà sopra quelle cose le quali appartengono al Signore Iddio; e Zabadia figliuolo di Ismael, il quale è duca nella casa di Giuda, sarà sopra quelle opere le quali appartengono all' officio del re; e nel vostro cospetto avete i Leviti maestri; confortatevi e fate diligentemente, e sarà il Signore con esso voi negli beni.
