2 Kings 13

1 In the twenty-third year of Joash son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, Jehoahaz son of Jehu became king ofIsrael in Samaria. He reigned for seventeen years.	1 Nei ventitrè anni di Ioas, figliuolo di Ocozia re di Giuda, regnò Ioacaz figliuolo di Ieu sopra Israel in Samaria diecisette anni.
2 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh and copied the sin into which Jeroboam son of Nebat had ledIsrael; he did not give it up.	2 E fece male nel cospetto del Signore, e seguitò i peccati di Ieroboam figliuolo di Nabat, il quale fece peccare Israel; e non sì partì da quelli.
3 This aroused Yahweh's anger against the Israelites, and he delivered them without respite into thepower of Hazael king of Aram and of Ben-Hadad son of Hazael.	3 Il furore del Signore fu irato contro ad Israel, e diedegli in mano di Azael re di Siria, e in mano di Benadad figliuolo di Azael, tutto il tempo loro.
4 Jehoahaz, however, tried to placate Yahweh, and Yahweh heard him, for he had seen the oppressionwhich the king of Aram was inflicting on Israel.	4 E Ioacaz priegò Iddio, ed esaudillo; però che vidde l'angosce d' Israel, però che il re di Siria gli avea attriti.
5 Yahweh gave Israel a saviour who freed them from the grip of Aram, and the Israelites lived in theirtents as in the past.	5 E diede Iddio salvatore ad Israel, e fu liberato delle mani del re di Siria; e abitarono i figliuoli d'Israel nelli tabernacoli suoi, sì come soleano per avanti.
6 But they did not give up the sin into which Jeroboam had led Israel; they persisted in it, and even thesacred pole stayed standing in Samaria.	6 Ma non si partirono dai peccati [della casa] di Ieroboam, il quale fece peccare Israel; e andarono per essi, e istette in Samaria il bosco.
7 Of Jehoahaz's army Yahweh left only fifty horsemen, ten chariots and ten thousand foot soldiers. Theking of Aram had destroyed them, making them like dust trampled under foot.	7 E non rimasero di Ioacaz, se non cinquanta uomini a cavallo del popolo, e dieci carra, e diecimilia pedoni; però che il re di Siria gli avea morti, e aveagli recati come la polvere dell' aia quando si batte.
8 The rest of the history of Jehoahaz, his entire career, his prowess, is this not recorded in the Book ofthe Annals of the Kings of Israel?	8 Tutte le altre cose de' fatti di Ioacaz, e tutte le cose che fece, e la sua fortezza, non sono elle scritte nel libro de' fatti e del tempo dei re d'Israel?
9 Then Jehoahaz fel asleep with his ancestors, and was buried in Samaria; his son Joash succeededhim.	9 E dormi Ioacaz con gli padri suoi, e seppellironlo in Samaria; e regnò Ioas suo figliuolo per lui.
10 In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, became king of Israel inSamaria. He reigned for sixteen years.	10 Nel trentasette anno di Ioas, re di Giuda, regnò Ioas figliuolo di Ioacaz sopra Israel in Samaria XVI anni.
11 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, he did not give up the sin into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel; he persisted in it.	11 E fece male nel cospetto del Signore; e non si partì da tutti i peccati di Ieroboam figliuolo di Nabat, il quale fece peccare Israel, e andò per essi.
12 The rest of the history of Joash, his entire career, his prowess, how he waged war on Amaziah king ofJudah, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of the Kings of Israel?	12 Tutto l'altro de' fatti di Ioas, e quello che fece, e la sua fortezza, come combattè contro Amasia re di Giuda, non sono elle scritte nel libro de' fatti dei re d'Israel?
13 Then Joash fel asleep with his ancestors, and Jeroboam ascended his throne. Joash was buried inSamaria with the kings of Israel.	13 E dormì Ioas colli padri suoi; e Ieroboam sedeo sopra la sedia sua; e fu seppellito Ioas in Samaria coi re d' Israel.
14 When Elisha had fal en il of the il ness of which he was to die, Joash king of Israel went down to himand shedding tears over him said, 'Father! Father! Chariot of Israel and its chargers!'	14 Ed Eliseo era infermo, della quale infermità morì; e descendendo a lui Ioas re d'Israel, e piagnea dinanzi a lui, e dicea: padre mio, padre mio, carro d' Israel e (la) sua guida!
15 Elisha said to him, 'Bring bow and arrows,' and he sent for a bow and arrows.	15 E disse a lui Eliseo: reca l'arco e le saette. E arrecato l'arco e le saette,
16 Then Elisha said to the king, 'Draw the bow,' and he drew it. Elisha put his hands over the hands ofthe king,	16 e' disse al re d'Israel: poni la tua mano sopra l'arco. E posto questi la sua mano sopra l'arco, Eliseo puose le sue mani sopra le mani del re.
17 then he said, 'Open the window towards the east,' and he opened it. Then Elisha said, 'Shoot!' And heshot. Elisha said, 'Arrow of victory over Aram! You wil defeat Aram at Aphek-completely.'	17 E disse; apri la finestra d' oriente. E aperta la finestra, disse Eliseo: getta la saetta. E gittolla. E disse [Eliseo]: la saetta della salute del Signore, E la saetta della salute contro Siria; e percoterai Siria in Afec, tanto che tutto il consumi.
18 Elisha said, 'Take the arrows,' and he took them. Then he said to the king, 'Strike the ground,' and hestruck it three times, then stopped.	18 E disse: tuogli la saetta. Il quale toltala, anche gli disse: percuoti la terra con la saetta. E avendo percossa la terra tre volte, e restato,
19 At this the man of God grew angry with him. 'You should have struck half a dozen times,' he said, 'andyou would have beaten Aram completely; now you wil beat Aram only three times.'	19 adirossi contro a lui l'uomo di Dio, e disse: se tu avessi percosso cinque volte o VI o VII, avresti percosso Siria insino alla consumazione; ora la percoterai tre volte.
20 Elisha died and was buried. Bands of Moabites were making incursions into the country every year.	20 È morto Eliseo, e seppellironlo. E i ladroncelli di Moab vennero in quello anno a quella terra.
21 Some people happened to be carrying a man out for burial; at the sight of one of these bands, theyflung the man into the tomb of Elisha and made off. The man had no sooner touched the bones of Elisha than hecame to life and stood up on his feet.	21 E certi uomini, i quali seppellivano uno uomo, veggendo quelli ladroncelli, gittarono quello corpo nel sepolcro di Eliseo. Il quale, toccato il corpo di Eliseo, resuscitò quello uomo, e istette sopra i suoi piedi.
22 Hazael king of Aram had oppressed the Israelites throughout the lifetime of Jehoahaz,	22 E Azael re di Siria afflisse Israel tutto il tempo di Ioacaz.
23 but Yahweh was kind and took pity on them. Because of the covenant which he had made withAbraham, Isaac and Jacob, he relented towards them; he had no wish to destroy them, he did not cast them outof his presence.	23 Ed ebbe il Signore misericordia di loro, ? ritornò a loro per lo suo patto il quale avea con esso Abraam e Isaac e Iacob; e non gli volle disfare in tutto, nè cacciare, insino a questo tempo.
24 Hazael king of Aram died, and his son Ben-Hadad succeeded him.	24 E Azael re di Siria morìo, e regnò Benadad suo figliuolo per lui.
25 From Ben-Hadad son of Hazael, Jehoash son of Jehoahaz recaptured the towns which Hazael hadseized from his father Jehoahaz by force of arms. Joash defeated him three times and recovered the Israelitetowns.	25 E Ioas figliuolo di Ioacaz tolse le città delle mani di Benadad figliuolo di Azael, le quali avea tolte di mano di Ioacaz suo padre per ragione di battaglia; tre volte il percosse Ioas, e rendè le città ad Israel.
