1 the LORD said to Moses and Eleazar; son of Aaron the priest,	1 Poi che il sangue di coloro che aveano peccato fu isparso, disse Iddio a Moisè e ad Eleazaro figliuolo di Aaron sacerdote:
2 "Take a census, by ancestral houses, throughout the community of the Israelites of all those of twenty years or more who are fit for military service in Israel."	2 Annumererete tutta la gente de' figliuoli d'Israel da venti anni in su, per tutte le case e per tutte le loro cognazioni, i quali a battaglia possono andare.
3 So on the plains of Moab along the Jericho stretch of the Jordan, Moses and the priest Eleazar registered	3 Parlarono Moisè ed Eleazaro [sacerdote], nelle parti di Moab sopra il Giordano, dirincontro a Gerico, a tutti coloro i quali erano
4 those of twenty years or more, as the LORD had commanded Moses. The Israelites who came out of the land of Egypt were as follows:	4 da venti anni in su, come Iddio comando; de' quali questo è il numero.
5 Of Reuben, the first-born of Israel, the Reubenites by clans were: through Hanoch the clan of the Hanochites, through Pallu the clan of the Palluites,	5 Ruben, primogenito d'Israel; di costui fue figliuolo Enoc, da cui procede la famiglia degli Enochiti; e Fallu, da cui procede la famiglia de' Falluiti;
6 through Hezron the clan of the Hezronites, through Carmi the clan of the Carmites.	6 ed Esron, da cui procede la famiglia de' Esroniti; e Carmi, dal qual processe la famiglia dei Carmiti.
7 These were the clans of the Reubenites, of whom forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty men were registered.	7 Queste sono le famiglie della schiatta di Ruben; di quali si trovarono per numero di quaran tatre milia settecentotrenta.
8 From Pallu descended Eliab,	8 Il figliuolo di Fallu, Eliab; di cui i figliuoli furono Namuel e Datan e Abiron.
9 and the descendants of Eliab were Dathan and Abiram-the same Dathan and Abiram, councilors of the community, who revolted against Moses and Aaron (like Korah's band when it rebelled against the LORD).	9 Questi sono Datan e Abiron, principi del popolo, i quali si levarono contro a Moisè e Aaron per aiuto di Core, quando si ribellarono contro a Dio;
10 The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them as a warning (Korah too and the band that died when the fire consumed two hundred and fifty men.	10 e aprendo la terra la bocca sua, divoroe Core, morendo molti, quando il fuoco arse ducento cinquanta uomini; e fue grande miracolo,
11 The descendents of Korah, however, did not die out).	11 che morendo Core, non morirono i figliuoli suoi.

14 These were the clans of the Simeonites, of whom twenty-two thousand two hundred men were registered.	14 Queste sono le famiglie della schiatta di Simeon; de' quali fue il numero ventiduo milia ducento.
15 The Gadites by clans were: through Zephon the clan of the Zephonites, through Haggi the clan of the Haggites, through Shuni the clan of the Shunites,	15 E li figliuoli di Gad, per le sue famiglie: Sefon; da costui uscì la famiglia de' Sefoniti: Aggi; da costui uscì la famiglia degli Aggiti; Suni; da costui uscì la famiglia degli Suniti:
16 through Ozni the clan of the Oznites, through Eri the clan of the Erites,	16 Ozni; da costui uscì la famiglia degli Ozniti: Eri; da costui uscì la famiglia degli Eriti:

19 The sons of Judah who died in the land of Canaan were Er and Onan.	19 I figliuoli di Iuda; Er e Onan, i quali morirono nella terra de' Cananei.
20 The Judahites by clans were: through Shelah the clan of the Shelahites, through Perez the clan of the Perezites, through Zerah the clan of the Zerahites.	20 Questa è la gente di Giuda per le loro famiglie: Sela, da cui uscì la famiglia de' Selaiti: Fares; da costui uscì la famiglia dei Faresiti: Zare, dal quale uscì la famiglia degli Zareiti.
21 The Perezites were: through Hezron the clan of the Hezronites, through Hamul the clan of the Hamulites.	21 E li figliuoli di Fares: Esron; da costui liscì la famiglia degli Esroniti: e Amul, dalla cui famiglia uscì gli Amuliti.
22 These were the clans of Judah, of whom seventy-six thousand five hundred men were registered.	22 Queste sono le famiglie di Giuda; le quali per numero furono settanta sei miglia cinquecento.
23 The Issacharites by clans were: through Tola the clan of the Tolaites, through Puvah the clan of the Puvahites,	23 E i figliuoli d'Issacar per le sue ischiatte: Tola; da costui uscì la famiglia de' Tolaiti: Fua; da costui uscì la famiglia de' Fuaiti:
24 through Jashub the clan of the Jashubites, through Shimron the clan of the Shimronites.	24 Iasub; da costui uscì la famiglia de Iasubiti: Semran; da costui uscì la famiglia de' Semraniti.
25 These were the clans of Issachar, of whom sixty-four thousand three hundred men were registered.	25 Queste sono le famiglie di Issacar; de' quali è il numero sessantaquattro milia trecento.
26 The Zebulunites by clans were: through Sered the clan of the Seredites, through Elon the clan of the Elonites, through Jahleel the clan of the Jahleelites.	26 E i figliuoli di Zabulon per le sue famiglie: Sared; da costui uscì la famiglia de' Sarediti: Elon, del quale uscì la famiglia de' Eloniti: [Ialel, del quale uscì la famiglia de Ialeliti].
27 These were the clans of the Zebulunites, of whom sixty thousand five hundred men were registered.	27 Queste sono le famiglie di Zabulon; de' quali fue il numero sessanta milia cinquecento.
28 The sons of Joseph were Manasseh and Ephraim.	28 Li figliuoli di Iosef per le sue famiglie: Ma nasse ed Efraim.
29 The Manassehites by clans were: through Machir the clan of the Machirites, through Gilead, a descendant of Machir, the clan of the Gileadites.	29 Di Manasse nacque Machir, da cui procedè la famiglia de' Machiriti. Machir generoe Galaad, da cui uscì la famiglia de' Galaaditi.
30 The Gileadites were: through Abiezer the clan of the Abiezrites, through Helek the clan of the Helekites,	30 Galaad ebbe figliuoli: Iezer, da cui procedè la famiglia degli Iezeriti; ed Elec, dal quale processe la famiglia di Elechiti;
31 through Asriel the clan of the Asrielites, through Shechem the clan of the Shechemites,	31 e Asriel, del quale uscì la famiglia dei Asrieliti; e Sechem, da cui uscì la famiglia de' Sechemiti;
32 through Shemida the clan of the Shemidaites, through Hepher the clan of the Hepherites.	32 e Semida, da cui uscì la famiglia de' Semidaiti; ed Eter, da cui uscì la famiglia degli Eferiti.
33 Zelophehad, son of Hepher, had no sons, but only daughters, whose names were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah.	33 E fu Efer padre di Salfaad, il quale non avea figliuoli; ma avea figliuole, delle quali questi sono i nomi: Maala e Noa ed Egla e Melca e Tersa.
34 These were the clans of Manasseh, of whom fifty-two thousand seven hundred men were registered.	34 Queste sono le famiglie di Manasse; il numero di tutte fue cinquantaduo miglia settecento.
35 The Ephraimites by clans were: through Shuthelah the clan of the Shuthelahites, through Becher the clan of the Bechrites, through Tahan the clan of the Tahanites.	35 E i figliuoli di Efraim per le sue famiglie sono questi: Sutala, del quale uscì la famiglia dei Sutalaiti; Becher, da cui useì la famiglia de' Becheriti; Teen, da cui uscì la famiglia de' Teeniti.
36 The Shuthelahites were: through Eran the clan of the Eranites.	36 Ma il figliuolo di Sutala fu Eran, da cui uscì la famiglia degli Eraniti.
37 These were the clans of the Ephraimites, of whom thirty-two thousand five hundred men were registered. These were the descendants of Joseph by clans.	37 Queste sono le famiglie di Efraim, de quali fue lo numero trentaduo milia cinquecento.
38 The Benjaminites by clans were: through Bela the clan of the Belaites, through Ashbel the clan of the Ashbelites, through Ahiram the clan of the Ahiramites,	38 Questi sono i figliuoli di Iosef per le sue famiglie. I figliuoli di Beniamin per le sue famiglie: Bela, da cui procedè la famiglia de' Belaiti; Asbel, del quale uscì la famiglia degli Asbeliti; Airam, da cui uscì la famiglia degli Airamiti;
39 through Shupham the clan of the Shuphamites, through Hupham the clan of the Huphamites.	39 Sufam, da cui uscì la famiglia de' Sufamiti; Ufam, da cui uscì la famiglia degli Ufamiti.
40 The descendants of Bela were Arad and Naaman: through Arad the clan of the Aradites, through Naaman the clan of the Naamanites.	40 E i figliuoli di Bela: Ered e Noeman. Di Ered, la famiglia de' Erediti; e di Noeman, la famiglia degli Noemaniti.
41 These were the Benjaminites by clans, of whom forty-five thousand six hundred men were registered.	41 Questi sono li figliuoli di Beniamin per le sue famiglie; i quali furono in numero quaranta cinque milia seicento.
42 The Danites by clans were: through Shuham the clan of the Shuhamites. These were the clans of Dan,	42 E li figliuoli di Dan per le sue schiatte: Suam, da cui procedè la famiglia de' Suamiti.
43 of whom sixty-four thousand four hundred men were registered.	43 E queste schiatte di Dan furono tutte Suamite; delle quali lo numero loro fue sessantaquattro milia quattrocento.
44 The Asherites by clans were: through Imnah the clan of the Imnites, through Ishvi the clan of the Ishvites, through Beriah the clan of the Beriites,	44 E i figliuoli di Aser per tutte le sue schiatte: Iemna, da cui uscì la famiglia de Iemnaiti: Iessui, da cui uscì la famiglia de Iessuiti; Brie, da cui uscì la famiglia de' Brieiti.
45 through Heber the clan of the Heberites, through Malchiel the clan of the Malchielites.	45 E i figliuoli di Brie: Eber, da cui procedè gli Eberiti; e Melchiel, da cui uscì la famiglia dei Melchieliti.
46 The name of Asher's daughter was Serah.	46 Il nome della figliuola di Aser fue Sara.
47 These were the clans of Asher, of whom fifty-three thousand four hundred men were registered.	47 Queste sono le schiatte d'Aser; e lo numero loro fu cinquantatre miglia quattrocento.
48 The Naphtalites by clans were: through Jahzeel the clan of the Jahzeelites, through Guni the clan of the Gunites,	48 E li figliuoli di Neftali per le sue schiatte: Iesiel, da cui uscì la famiglia de’ Iesieliti; Guni, da cui uscì la famiglia de' Guniti;
49 through Jezer the clan of the Jezerites, through Shillem the clan of the Shillemites.	49 Ieser, da cui uscì la famiglia de' Ieseriti; [Sellem, da cui uscì la famiglia de' Sellemiti].
50 These were the clans of Naphtali, of whom forty-five thousand four hundred men were registered.	50 Queste sono le famiglie de' figliuoli di Nef tali; de' quali fue il numero quarantacinque milia quattrocento.
51 These six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty were the Israelites who were registered.	51 Questa è la somma de' figliuoli d'Israel; i quali furono annumerati secento milia, e mille settecentotrenta.
52 The LORD said to Moses,	52 Parlò Iddio a Moisè, e dissegli:
53 "Among these groups the land shall be divided as their heritage in keeping with the number of individuals in each group.	53 A costoro dividerai la terra, secondo la loro quantità.
54 To a large group you shall assign a large heritage, to a small group a small heritage, each group receiving its heritage in proportion to the number of men registered in it.	54 A ' più darai la maggiore parte, e a' meno la minore; a tutti, secondo che ora sono annumerati, darai loro la possessione;
55 But the land shall be divided by lot, as the heritage of the various ancestral tribes.	55 sì che, secondo che loro sono, così partano per famiglie.
56 As the lot falls shall each group, large or small, be assigned its heritage."	56 Ciò che tocca loro per sorte, o poco o assai, quello si tolgano.
57 The Levites registered by clans were: through Gershon the clan of the Gershonites, through Kohath the clan of the Kohathites, through Merari the clan of the Merarites.	57 Questo è il numero de' figliuoli di Levi per tutte le loro famiglie: Gerson, da cui procede la famiglia de' Gersoniti; Caat, da cui procedè la famiglia de' Caatiti; Merari, da cui procedè la famiglia de' Merariti.
58 These also were clans of Levi: the clan of the Libnites, the clan of the Hebronites, the clan of the Mahlites, the clan of the Mushites, the clan of the Korahites. Among the descendants of Kohath was Amram,	58 Queste sono le famiglie di Levi: la famiglia di Lobni, e la famiglia di Ebroni, e la famiglia di Mooli, e la famiglia di Musi, e la famiglia di Core. Vero è che Caat generò Amram,
59 whose wife was named Jochebed. She also was of the tribe of Levi, born to the tribe in Egypt. To Amram she bore Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam.	59 che ebbe per moglie Iocabed, figliuola di Levi, la quale gli nacque in Egitto: costei generoe al marito suo Amram figliuoli, Aaaron e Moisè, e Maria loro sorella.
60 To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	60 Di Aaron nacquero Nadab e Abiu ed Eleazar e Itamar.
61 But Nadab and Abihu died when they offered profane fire before the LORD.	61 De ' quali, Nadab e Abiu morirono, perchè offersero il fuoco d'altrui a Dio.
62 The total number of male Levites one month or more of age, who were registered, was twenty-three thousand. They were not registered with the other Israelites, however, for no heritage was given them among the Israelites.	62 E furono in tutto, coloro che furono annumerati, ventitre milia i maschii da uno mese in su; i quali non furono numerati fra gli altri figliuoli d'Israel, nè a loro con gli altri fu data possessione.
63 These, then, were the men registered by Moses and the priest Eleazar in the census of the Israelites taken on the plains of Moab along the Jericho stretch of the Jordan.	63 Questo è lo numero de' figliuoli d'Israel, i quali furono numerati da Moisè ed Eleazaro sacerdote nelli campi di Moab, di sopra al Giordano, presso a Gerico.
64 Among them there was not a man of those who had been registered by Moses and the priest Aaron in the census of the Israelites taken in the desert of Sinai.	64 Tra' quali non è alcuno, che fosse annumerato da Moisè e Aaron, quando annumerarono il popolo altra volta nel deserto di Sinai.
65 For the LORD had told them that they would surely die in the desert, and not one of them was left except Caleb, son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, son of Nun.	65 Dio lo predisse loro, che tutti morrebbero nella solitudine. E però niuno di loro n'era rimaso, se non Caleb figliuolo di Iefone, e Iosuè figliuolo di Nun.
