1 King Jehoshaphat of Judah returned in safety to his house in Jerusalem.	1 Iosafat re di Giuda ritornò a casa sua con pace in Ierusalem.
2 Jehu the seer, son of Hanani, met King Jehoshaphat and said to him: "Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD? For this reason, wrath is upon you from the LORD.	2 Al quale andò incontro Ieu figliuolo di Anani vidente, e disse a lui: tu dài all' empio aiuto, e a quelli tu se' congiunto per amistade, li quali hanno in odio il Signore; però tu meritavi l' ira del Signore.
3 Yet some good things are to be found in you, since you have removed the sacred poles from the land and have been determined to seek God."	3 Ma sono trovate in te buone operazioni, però che tu hai tolto via i boschi della terra di Giuda, e apparecchiasti il tuo cuore a cercare del Signore Iddio de' padri tuoi.
4 Jehoshaphat dwelt in Jerusalem; but he went out again among the people from Beer-sheba to the highlands of Ephraim and brought them back to the LORD, the God of their fathers.	4 E Iosafat abitò in Ierusalem; e anco uscìo al popolo di Bersabee insino al monte di Efraim, e rivocollo al Signore Iddio de' suoi padri.
5 He appointed judges in the land, in all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city,	5 E ordinò gli giudici della terra in tutte le città di Giuda fornite, per ogni luogo.
6 and he said to them: "Take care what you do, for you are judging, not on behalf of man, but on behalf of the LORD; he judges with you.	6 E dicendo comandò ai giudici: vedete quello che voi fate; voi non esercitate il giudicio degli uomini, ma quello di Dio; e ciò che voi giudicherete, ritornerà in voi.
7 And now, let the fear of the LORD be upon you. Act carefully, for with the LORD, our God there is no injustice, no partiality, no bribe-taking."	7 Sia il timore di Dio in voi, e tutte le cose fate con diligenza; però che appo il nostro Signore Iddio non è iniquità, nè discernimento di persone, nè cupidità di doni.
8 In Jerusalem also, Jehoshaphat appointed some Levites and priests and some of the family heads of Israel to judge in the name of the LORD and to settle quarrels among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	8 E in Ierusalem ordinò Iosafat i Leviti e' sacerdoti e' principi delle famiglie d' Israel, acciò che giudicassero il giudicio del Signore a' suoi abitatori.
9 He gave them this command: "You shall act faithfully and wholeheartedly in the fear of the LORD.	9 E comandò loro, dicendo: così farete fedelmente nel timore di Dio, e con perfetto cuore,
10 And in every dispute that your brethren living in their cities bring to you, whether it concerns bloodguilt or questions of law, command, statutes, or judgments, warn them lest they become guilty before the LORD and his wrath come upon you and your brethren. Do that and you shall be guiltless.	10 ogni questione, la quale verrà a voi, de' vostri fratelli i quali àbitano nelle loro cittadi tra parentado e parentado. In qualunque luogo nascerà questione della legge, del comandamento, delle cerimonie e delle giustificazioni, mostrate loro che non pecchino nel Signore; e non vegna in voi l'ira (del Signore) e ne' vostri fratelli; e facendo così non peccherete.
11 See now, Amariah is high priest over you in everything that pertains to the LORD, and Zebadiah, son of Ishmael, is leader of the house of Judah in all that pertains to the king; and the Levites will be your officials. Act firmly, and the LORD will be with the good."	11 E Amaria, vostro sacerdote e pontefice, sarà sopra quelle cose le quali appartengono al Signore Iddio; e Zabadia figliuolo di Ismael, il quale è duca nella casa di Giuda, sarà sopra quelle opere le quali appartengono all' officio del re; e nel vostro cospetto avete i Leviti maestri; confortatevi e fate diligentemente, e sarà il Signore con esso voi negli beni.
