1 Thus all Israel was inscribed in its family records which are recorded in the book of the kings of Israel.Now Judah had been carried in captivity to Babylon because of its rebellion.	1 E fu numerato tutto Israel; e la somma loro è scritta nel libro de' re d' Israel e di Giuda; e furono translatati in Babilonia per lo suo peccato.
2 The first to settle again in their cities and dwell there were certain lay Israelites, the priests, the Levites, and the temple slaves.	2 Ma quelli che abitarono primi nelle loro possessioni e città sue, furono Israel, i sacerdoti e' leviti e' Natinei.

18 Previously they had stood guard at the king's gate on the east side; now they became gatekeepers for the encampments of the Levites.	18 insino a questo tempo, e nella porta del re ad oriente, guardavano sì come toccava loro, de' figliuoli di Levi.

20 Phinehas, son of Eleazar, had been their chief in times past--the LORD be with him!	20 E Finees, figliuolo di Eleazaro, era loro capitano nel cospetto del Signore.
21 Zechariah, son of Meshelemiah, guarded the gate of the meeting tent.	21 E Zacaria, figliuolo di Mosollamia, era portiere della porta del tabernacolo del testimonio.
22 In all, those who were chosen for gatekeepers at the threshold were two hundred and twelve. They were inscribed in the family records of their villages. 29 Others were appointed to take care of the utensils and all the sacred vessels, as well as the fine flour, the wine, the oil, the frankincense, and the spices.	29 E quelli ai quali erano credute l'altre massarizie del santuario, erano soprastanti alla semola, (cioè al fior della farina,) al vino e all' olio e allo incenso e alle spezie.
30 It was the sons of priests, however, who mixed the spiced ointments.	30 E i figliuoli de' sacerdoti conficiavano gli unguenti delle spezie.
31 Mattithiah, one of the Levites, the first-born of Shallum the Koreite, was entrusted with preparing the cakes.	31 E Matalia Levita, primogenito di Sellum Corita, era soprastante di quelle cose che si friggevano in padella.

33 These were the chanters and the gatekeepers, family heads over the Levites.
