1 Partant de là, il vient dans le territoire de la Judée et au-delà du Jourdain, et de nouveau les foules serassemblent auprès de lui et, selon sa coutume, de nouveau il les enseignait.	1 And rising up, he went from there into the area of Judea beyond the Jordan. And again, the crowd came together before him. And just as he was accustomed to do, again he taught them.
2 S'approchant, des Pharisiens lui demandaient: "Est-il permis à un mari de répudier sa femme?" C'étaitpour le mettre à l'épreuve.	2 And approaching, the Pharisees questioned him, testing him: “Is it lawful for a man to dismiss his wife?”
3 Il leur répondit: "Qu'est-ce que Moïse vous a prescrit" --	3 But in response, he said to them, “What did Moses instruct you?”
4 "Moïse, dirent-ils, a permis de rédiger un acte de divorce et de répudier."	4 And they said, “Moses gave permission to write a bill of divorce and to dismiss her.”
5 Alors Jésus leur dit: "C'est en raison de votre dureté de coeur qu'il a écrit pour vous cetteprescription.	5 But Jesus responded by saying: “It was due to the hardness of your heart that he wrote that precept for you.
6 Mais dès l'origine de la création Il les fit homme et femme.	6 But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
7 Ainsi donc l'homme quittera son père et sa mère,	7 Because of this, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife.
8 et les deux ne feront qu'une seule chair. Ainsi ils ne sont plus deux, mais une seule chair.	8 And these two shall be one in flesh. And so, they are now, not two, but one flesh.
9 Eh bien! ce que Dieu a uni, l'homme ne doit point le séparer."	9 Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.”
10 Rentrés à la maison, les disciples l'interrogeaient de nouveau sur ce point.	10 And again, in the house, his disciples questioned him about the same thing.
11 Et il leur dit: "Quiconque répudie sa femme et en épouse une autre, commet un adultère à son égard;	11 And he said to them: “Whoever dismisses his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.
12 et si une femme répudie son mari et en épouse un autre, elle commet un adultère."	12 And if a wife dismisses her husband, and is married to another, she commits adultery.”
13 On lui présentait des petits enfants pour qu'il les touchât, mais les disciples les rabrouèrent.	13 And they brought to him the little children, so that he might touch them. But the disciples admonished those who brought them.
14 Ce que voyant, Jésus se fâcha et leur dit: "Laissez les petits enfants venir à moi; ne les empêchezpas, car c'est à leurs pareils qu'appartient le Royaume de Dieu.	14 But when Jesus saw this, he took offense, and he said to them: “Allow the little ones to come to me, and do not prohibit them. For of such as these is the kingdom of God.
15 En vérité je vous le dis: quiconque n'accueille pas le Royaume de Dieu en petit enfant, n'y entrerapas."	15 Amen I say to you, whoever will not accept the kingdom of God like a little child, will not enter into it.”
16 Puis il les embrassa et les bénit en leur imposant les mains.	16 And embracing them, and laying his hands upon them, he blessed them.
17 Il se mettait en route quand un homme accourut et, s'agenouillant devant lui, il l'interrogeait: "Bonmaître, que dois-je faire pour avoir en héritage la vie éternelle?"	17 And when he had departed on the way, a certain one, running up and kneeling before him, asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do, so that I may secure eternal life?”
18 Jésus lui dit: "Pourquoi m'appelles-tu bon? Nul n'est bon que Dieu seul.	18 But Jesus said to him, “Why call me good? No one is good except the one God.
19 Tu connais les commandements: Ne tue pas, ne commets pas d'adultère, ne vole pas, ne porte pas defaux témoignage, ne fais pas de tort, honore ton père et ta mère."	19 You know the precepts: “Do not commit adultery. Do not kill. Do not steal. Do not speak false testimony. Do not deceive. Honor your father and mother.”
20 "Maître --, lui dit-il, tout cela, je l'ai observé dès ma jeunesse."	20 But in response, he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have observed from my youth.”
21 Alors Jésus fixa sur lui son regard et l'aima. Et il lui dit: "Une seule chose te manque: va, ce que tuas, vends-le et donne-le aux pauvres, et tu auras un trésor dans le ciel; puis, viens, suis-moi."	21 Then Jesus, gazing at him, loved him, and he said to him: “One thing is lacking to you. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and then you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me.”
22 Mais lui, à ces mots, s'assombrit et il s'en alla contristé, car il avait de grands biens.	22 But he went away grieving, having been greatly saddened by the word. For he had many possessions.
23 Alors Jésus, regardant autour de lui, dit à ses disciples: "Comme il sera difficile à ceux qui ont desrichesses d'entrer dans le Royaume de Dieu!"	23 And Jesus, looking around, said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the kingdom of God!”
24 Les disciples étaient stupéfaits de ces paroles. Mais Jésus reprit et leur dit: "Mes enfants, comme ilest difficile d'entrer dans le Royaume de Dieu!	24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus, answering again, said to them: “Little sons, how difficult it is for those who trust in money to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 Il est plus facile à un chameau de passer par le trou de l'aiguille qu'à un riche d'entrer dans leRoyaume de Dieu!"	25 It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for the rich to enter into the kingdom of God.”
26 Ils restèrent interdits à l'excès et se disaient les uns aux autres: "Et qui peut être sauvé?"	26 And they wondered even more, saying among themselves, “Who, then, can be saved?”
27 Fixant sur eux son regard, Jésus dit: "Pour les hommes, impossible, mais non pour Dieu: car tout estpossible pour Dieu."	27 And Jesus, gazing at them, said: “With men it is impossible; but not with God. For with God all things are possible.”
28 Pierre se mit à lui dire: "Voici que nous, nous avons tout laissé et nous t'avons suivi."	28 And Peter began to say to him, “Behold, we have left all things and have followed you.”
29 Jésus déclara: "En vérité, je vous le dis, nul n'aura laissé maison, frères, soeurs, mère, père, enfantsou champs à cause de moi et à cause de l'Evangile,	29 In response, Jesus said: “Amen I say to you, There is no one who has left behind house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or land, for my sake and for the Gospel,
30 qui ne reçoive le centuple dès maintenant, au temps présent, en maisons, frères, soeurs, mères,enfants et champs, avec des persécutions, et, dans le monde à venir, la vie éternelle.	30 who will not receive one hundred times as much, now in this time: houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and land, with persecutions, and in the future age eternal life.
31 Beaucoup de premiers seront derniers et les derniers seront premiers."	31 But many of the first shall be last, and the last shall be first.”
32 Ils étaient en route, montant à Jérusalem; et Jésus marchait devant eux, et ils étaient dans la stupeur,et ceux qui suivaient étaient effrayés. Prenant de nouveau les Douze avec lui, il se mit à leur dire ce qui allait luiarriver:	32 Now they were on the way ascending to Jerusalem. And Jesus went ahead of them, and they were astonished. And those following him were afraid. And again, taking aside the twelve, he began to tell them what was about to happen to him.
33 "Voici que nous montons à Jérusalem, et le Fils de l'homme sera livré aux grands prêtres et auxscribes; ils le condamneront à mort et le livreront aux païens,	33 “For behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be handed over to the leaders of the priests, and to the scribes, and the elders. And they will condemn him to death, and they will hand him over to the Gentiles.
34 ils le bafoueront, cracheront sur lui, le flagelleront et le tueront, et après trois jours il ressuscitera."	34 And they will mock him, and spit on him, and scourge him, and put him to death. And on the third day, he will rise again.”
35 Jacques et Jean, les fils de Zébédée, avancent vers lui et lui disent: "Maître, nous voulons que tufasses pour nous ce que nous allons te demander."	35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, drew near to him, saying, “Teacher, we wish that whatever we will ask, you would do for us.”
36 Il leur dit: "Que voulez-vous que je fasse pour vous" --	36 But he said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
37 "Accorde-nous, lui dirent-ils, de siéger, l'un à ta droite et l'autre à ta gauche, dans ta gloire."	37 And they said, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right and the other at your left, in your glory.”
38 Jésus leur dit: "Vous ne savez pas ce que vous demandez. Pouvez-vous boire la coupe que je vaisboire et être baptisés du baptême dont je vais être baptisé?"	38 But Jesus said to them: “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink from the chalice from which I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am to be baptized?”
39 Ils lui dirent: "Nous le pouvons." Jésus leur dit: "La coupe que je vais boire, vous la boirez, et lebaptême dont je vais être baptisé, vous en serez baptisés;	39 But they said to him, “We can.” Then Jesus said to them: “Indeed, you shall drink from the chalice, from which I drink; and you shall be baptized with the baptism, with which I am to be baptized.
40 quant à siéger à ma droite ou à ma gauche, il ne m'appartient pas de l'accorder, mais c'est pour ceuxà qui cela a été destiné."	40 But to sit at my right, or at my left, is not mine to give to you, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.”
41 Les dix autres, qui avaient entendu, se mirent à s'indigner contre Jacques et Jean.	41 And the ten, upon hearing this, began to be indignant toward James and John.
42 Les ayant appelés près de lui, Jésus leur dit: "Vous savez que ceux qu'on regarde comme les chefsdes nations dominent sur elles en maîtres et que les grands leur font sentir leur pouvoir.	42 But Jesus, calling them, said to them: “You know that those who seem to be leaders among the Gentiles dominate them, and their leaders exercise authority over them.
43 Il ne doit pas en être ainsi parmi vous: au contraire, celui qui voudra devenir grand parmi vous, seravotre serviteur,	43 But it is not to be this way among you. Instead, whoever would become greater shall be your minister;
44 et celui qui voudra être le premier parmi vous, sera l'esclave de tous.	44 and whoever will be first among you shall be the servant of all.
45 Aussi bien, le Fils de l'homme lui-même n'est pas venu pour être servi, mais pour servir et donner savie en rançon pour une multitude."	45 So, too, the Son of man has not come so that they would minister to him, but so that he would minister and would give his life as a redemption for many.”
46 Ils arrivent à Jéricho. Et comme il sortait de Jéricho avec ses disciples et une foule considérable, lefils de Timée (Bartimée), un mendiant aveugle, était assis au bord du chemin.	46 And they went to Jericho. And as he was setting out from Jericho with his disciples and a very numerous multitude, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, a blind man, sat begging beside the way.
47 Quand il apprit que c'était Jésus le Nazarénien, il se mit à crier: "Fils de David, Jésus, aie pitié demoi!"	47 And when he had heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and to say, “Jesus, Son of David, take pity on me.”
48 Et beaucoup le rabrouaient pour lui imposer silence, mais lui criait de plus belle: "Fils de David, aiepitié de moi!"	48 And many admonished him to be quiet. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, take pity on me.”
49 Jésus s'arrêta et dit: "Appelez-le." On appelle l'aveugle en lui disant: "Aie confiance! lève-toi, ilt'appelle."	49 And Jesus, standing still, instructed him to be called. And they called the blind man, saying to him: “Be at peace. Arise. He is calling you.”
50 Et lui, rejetant son manteau, bondit et vint à Jésus.	50 And casting aside his garment, he leapt up and went to him.
51 Alors Jésus lui adressa la parole: "Que veux-tu que je fasse pour toi?" L'aveugle lui répondit:"Rabbouni, que je recouvre la vue!"	51 And in response, Jesus said to him, “What do you want, that I should do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Master, that I may see.”
52 Jésus lui dit: "Va, ta foi t'a sauvé." Et aussitôt il recouvra la vue et il cheminait à sa suite.	52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has made you whole.” And immediately he saw, and he followed him on the way.
