1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 Voici la loi à appliquer au lépreux le jour de sa purification. On le conduira au prêtre,	2 This is the rite for a leper, when he is to be cleansed. He shall be brought to the priest,
3 et le prêtre sortira du camp. S'il constate, après examen, que le lépreux est guéri de sa lèpre,	3 who, departing from the camp, when he has found the leprosy to be cleansed,
4 il ordonnera de prendre pour l'homme à purifier deux oiseaux vivants et purs, du bois de cèdre,du rouge de cochenille et de l'hysope.	4 shall instruct him who is to be purified to offer for himself two living sparrows, which it is lawful to eat, and cedar wood, and vermillion, and hyssop.
5 Il ordonnera ensuite d'immoler un oiseau sur un pot d'argile au-dessus d'une eau vive.	5 And he shall order that one of the sparrows be immolated in an earthen vessel over living waters.
6 Quant à l'oiseau encore vivant, il le prendra ainsi que le bois de cèdre, le rouge de cochenille,l'hysope, et il plongera le tout (y compris l'oiseau vivant) dans le sang de l'oiseau immolé au-dessus de l'eaucourante.	6 But the other living one, with the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, he shall dip in the blood of the immolated sparrow.
7 Il fera alors sept aspersions sur l'homme à purifier de la lèpre et, l'ayant déclaré pur, il lâcheral'oiseau vivant dans la campagne.	7 And he shall sprinkle him who is to be cleansed seven times, so that he may be purified justly. And he shall release the living sparrow, so that it may fly away into the field.
8 Celui qui se purifie nettoiera ses vêtements, il se rasera tous les poils, il se lavera à l'eau et serapur. Après quoi il rentrera au camp, mais il restera sept jours hors de sa tente.	8 And when the man will have washed his clothes, he shall shave all the hair from his body, and he shall be washed with water. And having been purified, he shall enter into the camp, only to this extent: that he may remain outside his own tent for seven days.
9 Le septième jour il se rasera tous les poils: cheveux, barbe, sourcils; il devra se raser tous lespoils. Après avoir nettoyé ses vêtements et s'être lavé à l'eau, il sera pur.	9 And on the seventh day he shall shave the hair of his head, and his beard, and his eyebrows, as well as the hair of his entire body. And having washed his clothes again, and his body,
10 Le huitième jour il prendra deux agneaux sans défaut, une agnelle d'un an sans défaut, troisdixièmes de fleur de farine pétrie à l'huile, pour l'oblation, et une pinte d'huile.	10 on the eighth day, he shall take two immaculate lambs, and a one-year-old female sheep without blemish, and three tenths of fine wheat flour, which has been sprinkled with oil, as a sacrifice, and separately, one twelfth hin of oil.
11 Le prêtre qui accomplit la purification placera l'homme à purifier, ainsi que ses offrandes, àl'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous, devant Yahvé.	11 And when the priest purifying the man has presented him and all these things in the sight of the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony,
12 Puis il prendra l'un des agneaux. Il l'offrira en sacrifice de réparation ainsi que la pinte d'huile.Il fera avec eux le geste de présentation devant Yahvé.	12 he shall take a lamb and offer it for transgression, with the twelfth hin of oil. And having offered all these before the Lord,
13 Il immolera l'agneau à l'endroit du lieu saint où l'on immole les victimes du sacrifice pour lepéché et de l'holocauste. Cette victime de réparation reviendra au prêtre comme un sacrifice pour le péché, c'estune chose très sainte.	13 he shall immolate the lamb, where the victim for sin is usually immolated with the holocaust, that is, in the holy place. For just as with the one for sin, so also the victim for transgression belongs to the priest. It is the Holy of holies.
14 Le prêtre prendra du sang de ce sacrifice. Il le mettra sur le lobe de l'oreille droite de celui quise purifie, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit.	14 And taking some of the blood of the victim, which was immolated for transgression, the priest shall place it upon the tip of the right ear of him who is being cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and likewise the foot.
15 Il prendra ensuite la pinte d'huile et en versera un peu dans le creux de sa main gauche.	15 And he shall send some of the twelfth hin of oil into his own left hand,
16 Il trempera un doigt de sa main droite dans l'huile qui est au creux de sa main gauche et de cettehuile il fera avec son doigt sept aspersions devant Yahvé.	16 and he shall dip his right finger in it, and he shall sprinkle it in the sight of the Lord seven times.
17 Puis il mettra un peu de l'huile qui lui reste dans le creux de la main sur le lobe de l'oreilledroite de celui qui se purifie, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit, en plus du sangdu sacrifice de réparation.	17 But the oil which remains in his left hand, he shall pour over the tip of the right ear of him who is being cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand as well as the foot, and upon the blood which was shed for transgression,
18 Le reste d'huile qu'il a dans le creux de la main, il le mettra sur la tête de celui qui se purifie. Ilaura fait ainsi sur lui le rite d'expiation devant Yahvé.	18 and upon his head.
19 Le prêtre fera alors le sacrifice pour le péché et accomplira sur celui qui se purifie le rited'expiation de son impureté. Après quoi il immolera l'holocauste,	19 And he shall pray for him in the sight of the Lord, and he shall accomplish the sacrifice on behalf of sin. Then he shall immolate the holocaust,
20 il fera monter à l'autel holocauste et oblation. Quand le prêtre aura ainsi accompli sur cethomme le rite d'expiation, il sera pur.	20 and place it upon the altar with its libations, and the man will be duly cleansed.
21 S'il est pauvre et dépourvu des ressources suffisantes, il prendra un seul agneau, celui dusacrifice de réparation, et on l'offrira selon le geste de présentation pour accomplir sur cet homme le rited'expiation. Il ne prendra aussi qu'un dixième de fleur de farine pétrie à l'huile, pour l'oblation, et la pinte d'huile,	21 But if he is poor, and his hand is not able to find what has been said, he shall take a lamb as an offering for transgression, so that the priest may pray for him, and a tenth part of fine wheat flour sprinkled with oil, as a sacrifice, and a twelfth hin of oil,
22 enfin deux tourterelles ou deux pigeons -- s'il est en mesure de se les procurer -- dont l'un seradestiné au sacrifice pour le péché et l'autre à l'holocauste.	22 and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, of which one may be for sin, and the other as a holocaust.
23 C'est le huitième jour qu'en vue de sa purification il les apportera au prêtre, à l'entrée de laTente du Rendez-vous, devant Yahvé.	23 And he shall offer them on the eighth day of his purification to the priest at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony in the sight of the Lord.
24 Le prêtre prendra l'agneau du sacrifice de réparation et la pinte d'huile. Il les offrira en geste deprésentation devant Yahvé.	24 And he, receiving the lamb for transgression, and the twelfth hin of oil, shall lift them up together.
25 Puis, ayant immolé cet agneau du sacrifice de réparation, il en prendra du sang et le mettra surle lobe de l'oreille droite de celui qui se purifie, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pieddroit.	25 And when the lamb has been immolated, he shall place some of its blood upon the tip of the right ear of him who is being cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, as well as the foot.
26 Il versera de l'huile dans le creux de sa main gauche	26 Yet truly, he shall send part of the oil into his own left hand,
27 et, de cette huile qui est dans le creux de sa main gauche, il fera avec son doigt sept aspersionsdevant Yahvé.	27 and dipping the finger of his right hand in it, he shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord.
28 Il en mettra sur le lobe de l'oreille droite de celui qui se purifie, sur le pouce de sa main droite,sur le gros orteil de son pied droit, à l'endroit où a été posé le sang du sacrifice de réparation.	28 And he shall touch the tip of the right ear of him who is being cleansed, and the thumb of his right hand, as well as the foot, in the place of the blood which was shed for transgression.
29 Ce qui lui reste d'huile dans le creux de la main, il le mettra sur la tête de celui qui se purifie enfaisant sur lui le rite d'expiation devant Yahvé.	29 But the remaining part of the oil which is in his left hand, he shall send upon the head of the one being purified, to appease the Lord on his behalf.
30 De l'une des deux tourterelles ou de l'un des deux pigeons -- de ce qu'il est en mesure de seprocurer -- il fera	30 And he shall offer a turtledove or a young pigeon,
31 un sacrifice pour le péché et, de l'autre, un holocauste accompagné d'oblation -- avec ce qu'ilaura été en mesure de se procurer. Le prêtre aura fait ainsi le rite d'expiation devant Yahvé sur celui qui sepurifie.	31 one for transgression, and the other as a holocaust, with their libations.
32 Telle est la loi concernant celui qui est atteint de lèpre sans être à même de pourvoir à sapurification.	32 This is the sacrifice of a leper, who is not able to obtain all of the things concerning his cleansing.
33 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron et dit:	33 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:
34 Lorsque vous serez arrivés au pays de Canaan que je vous donne pour domaine, si je frappe dela lèpre une maison du pays que vous posséderez,	34 When you will have entered into the land of Canaan, which I will give to you as a possession, if there is the mark of leprosy in a building,
35 son propriétaire viendra avertir le prêtre et dira: "J'ai vu comme de la lèpre dans la maison."	35 he whose house it is shall go and report to the priest, saying: “It seems to me that the mark of leprosy is in my house.”
36 Le prêtre ordonnera de vider la maison avant qu'il ne vienne examiner le mal; ainsi rien nedeviendra impur de ce qui s'y trouve. Après quoi le prêtre viendra observer la maison,	36 And he shall instruct them to carry all things out of the house, before he would enter it and see whether it is leprosy, lest all that is in the house become unclean. And after this, he shall enter to examine the leprosy of the house.
37 et si, après examen, il constate sur les murs de la maison des cavités verdâtres ou rougeâtres quifont creux dans le mur,	37 And when he will have seen in its walls something like little hollows, deformed with paleness or redness, and lower than the remaining surface,
38 le prêtre sortira de la maison, à la porte, et il la fera fermer sept jours.	38 he shall exit by the door of the house, and immediately close it up for seven days.
39 Il reviendra le septième jour et si, après examen, il constate que le mal s'est développé sur lesmurs de la maison,	39 And returning on the seventh day, he shall examine it. If he finds that the leprosy has spread,
40 il ordonnera que l'on retire les pierres attaquées par le mal et qu'on les jette hors de la ville enun lieu impur.	40 he shall order the stones in which the leprosy is, to be dug out and cast outside the city in an unclean place,
41 Puis il fera gratter toutes les parois intérieures de la maison et l'on répandra le crépi ainsidétaché dans un lieu impur à l'extérieur de la ville.	41 and that the house be scraped on the inside all around, and that the dust of the scrapings be scattered outside the city in an unclean place,
42 On prendra d'autres pierres pour remplacer les premières et un autre enduit pour recrépir lamaison.	42 and that other stones be put back, in place of those which had been taken away, and that the house be plastered with other mortar.
43 Si le mal prolifère à nouveau après l'enlèvement des pierres, le décapage et le crépissage de lamaison,	43 But if, after the stones have been dug out, and the dust wiped away, and it is plastered with other clay,
44 le prêtre viendra l'examiner; s'il constate que le mal s'est développé, c'est une lèpre contagieusedans la maison; celle-ci est impure.	44 the priest, upon entering, will have seen that the leprosy has returned, and that the walls are sprinkled with spots, then it is a persistent leprosy and the house is unclean.
45 On la démolira, on portera dans un lieu impur, hors de la ville, ses pierres, ses charpentes et toutson crépi.	45 And so they shall promptly destroy it, and shall cast its stones and timber, and also all the dust, outside the town in an unclean place.
46 Quiconque entrera dans la maison, pendant tout le temps qu'on la tient fermée, sera impurjusqu'au soir.	46 Whoever enters into the house when it is closed up shall be unclean until evening.
47 Quiconque y couchera devra nettoyer ses vêtements. Quiconque y mangera devra nettoyer sesvêtements.	47 And whoever will have slept in it, or eaten anything, shall wash his clothes.
48 Mais si le prêtre, lorsqu'il vient examiner le mal, constate qu'il ne s'est pas développé dans lamaison après le crépissage, il déclarera pure la maison, car le mal est guéri.	48 But if the priest, upon entering, will have seen that the leprosy has not spread in the house, after it had been newly plastered, he shall purify it, restoring it to health.
49 En vue d'un sacrifice pour le péché de la maison, il prendra deux oiseaux, du bois de cèdre, durouge de cochenille et de l'hysope.	49 And for its purification, he shall take two sparrows, and cedar wood, and vermillion, as well as hyssop,
50 Il immolera un des oiseaux sur un pot d'argile au-dessus d'une eau courante.	50 and, having immolated one sparrow in an earthen vessel over living waters,
51 Puis il prendra le bois de cèdre, l'hysope, le rouge de cochenille et l'oiseau encore vivant, pourles plonger dans le sang de l'oiseau immolé et dans l'eau courante. Il fera sept aspersions sur la maison	51 he shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living sparrow, and he shall dip all these in the blood of the immolated sparrow, and also in the living water, and he shall sprinkle the house seven times.
52 et, après avoir fait le sacrifice pour le péché de la maison par le sang de l'oiseau, l'eau courante,l'oiseau vivant, le bois de cèdre, l'hysope et le rouge de cochenille,	52 And he shall purify it as much with the blood of the sparrow as with the living water, and with the living sparrow, and the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the vermillion.
53 il lâchera l'oiseau vivant hors de la ville, dans la campagne. Le rite d'expiation ainsi fait sur lamaison, elle sera pure.	53 And when he has released the sparrow to fly freely away into the field, he shall pray for the house, and it shall be justly cleansed.
54 Telle est la loi concernant tous cas de lèpre et de teigne,	54 This is the law of every kind of leprosy and plague:
55 la lèpre des vêtements et des maisons,	55 of the leprosy of garments and houses,
56 les tumeurs, dartres et taches.	56 of scars and erupting pustules, of a shining spot, when the appearance is also variegated,
57 Elle fixe les temps d'impureté et de pureté. Telle est la loi sur la lèpre.	57 so that it can be known at what time a thing is clean or unclean.
