EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 In der folgenden Zeit wanderte er von Stadt zu Stadt und von Dorf zu Dorf und verkündete das Evangelium vom Reich Gottes. Die Zwölf begleiteten ihn,	1 Now it happened that after this he made his way through towns and villages preaching and proclaimingthe good news of the kingdom of God. With him went the Twelve,
2 außerdem einige Frauen, die er von bösen Geistern und von Krankheiten geheilt hatte: Maria Magdalene, aus der sieben Dämonen ausgefahren waren,	2 as wel as certain women who had been cured of evil spirits and ailments: Mary surnamed theMagdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,
3 Johanna, die Frau des Chuzas, eines Beamten des Herodes, Susanna und viele andere. Sie alle unterstützten Jesus und die Jünger mit dem, was sie besaßen.	3 Joanna the wife of Herod's steward Chuza, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out oftheir own resources.
4 Als die Leute aus allen Städten zusammenströmten und sich viele Menschen um ihn versammelten, erzählte er ihnen dieses Gleichnis:	4 With a large crowd gathering and people from every town finding their way to him, he told this parable:
5 Ein Sämann ging aufs Feld, um seinen Samen auszusäen. Als er säte, fiel ein Teil der Körner auf den Weg; sie wurden zertreten und die Vögel des Himmels fraßen sie.	5 'A sower went out to sow his seed. Now as he sowed, some fel on the edge of the path and wastrampled on; and the birds of the air ate it up.
6 Ein anderer Teil fiel auf Felsen, und als die Saat aufging, verdorrte sie, weil es ihr an Feuchtigkeit fehlte.	6 Some seed fell on rock, and when it came up it withered away, having no moisture.
7 Wieder ein anderer Teil fiel mitten in die Dornen und die Dornen wuchsen zusammen mit der Saat hoch und erstickten sie.	7 Some seed fell in the middle of thorns and the thorns grew with it and choked it.
8 Ein anderer Teil schließlich fiel auf guten Boden, ging auf und brachte hundertfach Frucht. Als Jesus das gesagt hatte, rief er: Wer Ohren hat zum Hören, der höre!	8 And some seed fell into good soil and grew and produced its crop a hundredfold.' Saying this he cried,'Anyone who has ears for listening should listen!'
9 Seine Jünger fragten ihn, was das Gleichnis bedeute.	9 His disciples asked him what this parable might mean,
10 Da sagte er: Euch ist es gegeben, die Geheimnisse des Reiches Gottes zu erkennen. Zu den anderen Menschen aber wird nur in Gleichnissen geredet; denn sie sollen sehen und doch nicht sehen, hören und doch nicht verstehen.	10 and he said, 'To you is granted to understand the secrets of the kingdom of God; for the rest it remainsin parables, so that they may look but not perceive, listen but not understand.
11 Das ist der Sinn des Gleichnisses: Der Samen ist das Wort Gottes.	11 'This, then, is what the parable means: the seed is the word of God.
12 Auf den Weg ist der Samen bei denen gefallen, die das Wort zwar hören, denen es aber der Teufel dann aus dem Herzen reißt, damit sie nicht glauben und nicht gerettet werden.	12 Those on the edge of the path are people who have heard it, and then the devil comes and carriesaway the word from their hearts in case they should believe and be saved.
13 Auf den Felsen ist der Samen bei denen gefallen, die das Wort freudig aufnehmen, wenn sie es hören; aber sie haben keine Wurzeln: Eine Zeit lang glauben sie, doch in der Zeit der Prüfung werden sie abtrünnig.	13 Those on the rock are people who, when they first hear it, welcome the word with joy. But these haveno root; they believe for a while, and in time of trial they give up.
14 Unter die Dornen ist der Samen bei denen gefallen, die das Wort zwar hören, dann aber weggehen und in den Sorgen, dem Reichtum und den Genüssen des Lebens ersticken, deren Frucht also nicht reift.	14 As for the part that fell into thorns, this is people who have heard, but as they go on their way they arechoked by the worries and riches and pleasures of life and never produce any crops.
15 Auf guten Boden ist der Samen bei denen gefallen, die das Wort mit gutem und aufrichtigem Herzen hören, daran festhalten und durch ihre Ausdauer Frucht bringen.	15 As for the part in the rich soil, this is people with a noble and generous heart who have heard the wordand take it to themselves and yield a harvest through their perseverance.
16 Niemand zündet ein Licht an und deckt es mit einem Gefäß zu oder stellt es unter das Bett, sondern man stellt das Licht auf den Leuchter, damit alle, die eintreten, es leuchten sehen.	16 'No one lights a lamp to cover it with a bowl or to put it under a bed. No, it is put on a lamp-stand sothat people may see the light when they come in.
17 Es gibt nichts Verborgenes, das nicht offenbar wird, und nichts Geheimes, das nicht bekannt wird und an den Tag kommt.	17 For nothing is hidden but it will be made clear, nothing secret but it will be made known and brought tolight.
18 Gebt also Acht, dass ihr richtig zuhört! Denn wer hat, dem wird gegeben; wer aber nicht hat, dem wird auch noch weggenommen, was er zu haben meint.	18 So take care how you listen; anyone who has, wil be given more; anyone who has not, wil bedeprived even of what he thinks he has.'
19 Eines Tages kamen seine Mutter und seine Brüder zu ihm; sie konnten aber wegen der vielen Leute nicht zu ihm gelangen.	19 His mother and his brothers came looking for him, but they could not get to him because of the crowd.
20 Da sagte man ihm: Deine Mutter und deine Brüder stehen draußen und möchten dich sehen.	20 He was told, 'Your mother and brothers are standing outside and want to see you.'
21 Er erwiderte: Meine Mutter und meine Brüder sind die, die das Wort Gottes hören und danach handeln.	21 But he said in answer, 'My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and put it intopractice.'
22 Eines Tages stieg er mit seinen Jüngern in ein Boot und sagte zu ihnen: Wir wollen ans andere Ufer des Sees hinüberfahren. Und sie fuhren ab.	22 It happened that one day he got into a boat with his disciples and said to them, 'Let us cross over tothe other side of the lake.' So they set out,
23 Während der Fahrt aber schlief er ein. Plötzlich brach über dem See ein Wirbelsturm los; das Wasser schlug in das Boot und sie gerieten in große Gefahr.	23 and as they sailed he fel asleep. When a squall of wind came down on the lake the boat startedshipping water and they found themselves in danger.
24 Da traten sie zu ihm und weckten ihn; sie riefen: Meister, Meister, wir gehen zugrunde! Er stand auf, drohte dem Wind und den Wellen, und sie legten sich und es trat Stille ein.	24 So they went to rouse him saying, 'Master! Master! We are lost!' Then he woke up and rebuked thewind and the rough water; and they subsided and it was calm again.
25 Dann sagte er zu den Jüngern: Wo ist euer Glaube? Sie aber fragten einander voll Schrecken und Staunen: Was ist das für ein Mensch, dass sogar die Winde und das Wasser seinem Befehl gehorchen?	25 He said to them, 'Where is your faith?' They were awestruck and astounded and said to one another,'Who can this be, that gives orders even to winds and waves and they obey him?'
26 Sie fuhren in das Gebiet von Gerasa, das dem galiläischen Ufer gegenüberliegt.	26 They came to land in the territory of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee.
27 Als Jesus an Land ging, lief ihm ein Mann aus der Stadt entgegen, der von Dämonen besessen war. Schon seit langem trug er keine Kleider mehr und lebte nicht mehr in einem Haus, sondern in den Grabhöhlen.	27 He was stepping ashore when a man from the city who was possessed by devils came towards him;for a long time the man had been living with no clothes on, not in a house, but in the tombs.
28 Als er Jesus sah, schrie er auf, fiel vor ihm nieder und rief laut: Was habe ich mit dir zu tun, Jesus, Sohn des höchsten Gottes? Ich bitte dich: Quäle mich nicht!	28 Catching sight of Jesus he gave a shout, fel at his feet and cried out at the top of his voice, 'What doyou want with me, Jesus, son of the Most High God? I implore you, do not torture me.'
29 Jesus hatte nämlich dem unreinen Geist befohlen, den Mann zu verlassen. Denn schon seit langem hatte ihn der Geist in seiner Gewalt und man hatte ihn wie einen Gefangenen an Händen und Füßen gefesselt. Aber immer wieder zerriss er die Fesseln und wurde von dem Dämon in menschenleere Gegenden getrieben.	29 For Jesus had been tel ing the unclean spirit to come out of the man. It had seized on him a greatmany times, and then they used to secure him with chains and fetters to restrain him, but he would always breakthe fastenings, and the devil would drive him out into the wilds.
30 Jesus fragte ihn: Wie heißt du? Er antwortete: Legion. Denn er war von vielen Dämonen besessen.	30 Jesus asked him, 'What is your name?' He said, 'Legion' -- because many devils had gone into him.
31 Und die Dämonen baten Jesus, sie nicht zur Hölle zu schicken.	31 And these begged him not to order them to depart into the Abyss.
32 Nun weidete dort an einem Berg gerade eine große Schweineherde. Die Dämonen baten Jesus, ihnen zu erlauben, in die Schweine hineinzufahren. Er erlaubte es ihnen.	32 Now there was a large herd of pigs feeding there on the mountain, and the devils begged him to letthem go into these. So he gave them leave.
33 Da verließen die Dämonen den Menschen und fuhren in die Schweine, und die Herde stürzte sich den Abhang hinab in den See und ertrank.	33 The devils came out of the man and went into the pigs, and the herd charged down the cliff into thelake and was drowned.
34 Als die Hirten das sahen, flohen sie und erzählten alles in der Stadt und in den Dörfern.	34 When the swineherds saw what had happened they ran off and told their story in the city and in thecountry round about;
35 Darauf eilten die Leute herbei, um zu sehen, was geschehen war. Sie kamen zu Jesus und sahen, dass der Mann, den die Dämonen verlassen hatten, wieder bei Verstand war und ordentlich gekleidet Jesus zu Füßen saß. Da fürchteten sie sich.	35 and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus they found the manfrom whom the devils had gone out sitting at the feet of Jesus, wearing clothes and in his right mind; and theywere afraid.
36 Die, die alles gesehen hatten, berichteten ihnen, wie der Besessene geheilt wurde.	36 Those who had witnessed it told them how the man who had been possessed came to be saved.
37 Darauf baten alle, die im Gebiet von Gerasa wohnten, Jesus, sie zu verlassen; denn es hatte sie große Angst gepackt. Da stieg Jesus ins Boot und fuhr zurück.	37 The entire population of the Gerasene territory was in great fear and asked Jesus to leave them. So hegot into the boat and went back.
38 Der Mann, den die Dämonen verlassen hatten, bat Jesus, bei ihm bleiben zu dürfen. Doch Jesus schickte ihn weg und sagte:	38 The man from whom the devils had gone out asked to be al owed to stay with him, but he sent himaway saying,
39 Kehr in dein Haus zurück, und erzähl alles, was Gott für dich getan hat. Da ging er weg und verkündete in der ganzen Stadt, was Jesus für ihn getan hatte.	39 'Go back home and report al that God has done for you.' So the man went off and proclaimedthroughout the city al that Jesus had done for him.
40 Als Jesus (ans andere Ufer) zurückkam, empfingen ihn viele Menschen; sie hatten alle schon auf ihn gewartet.	40 On his return Jesus was welcomed by the crowd, for they were al there waiting for him.
41 Da kam ein Mann namens Jaïrus, der Synagogenvorsteher war. Er fiel Jesus zu Füßen und bat ihn, in sein Haus zu kommen.	41 And suddenly there came a man named Jairus, who was president of the synagogue. He fel at Jesus'feet and pleaded with him to come to his house,
42 Denn sein einziges Kind, ein Mädchen von etwa zwölf Jahren, lag im Sterben. Während Jesus auf dem Weg zu ihm war, drängten sich die Menschen um ihn und erdrückten ihn beinahe.	42 because he had an only daughter about twelve years old, who was dying. And the crowds were almoststifling Jesus as he went.
43 Darunter war eine Frau, die schon seit zwölf Jahren an Blutungen litt und bisher von niemand geheilt werden konnte.	43 Now there was a woman suffering from a haemorrhage for the past twelve years, whom no one hadbeen able to cure.
44 Sie drängte sich von hinten an ihn heran und berührte den Saum seines Gewandes. Im gleichen Augenblick kam die Blutung zum Stillstand.	44 She came up behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak; and the haemorrhage stopped at thatvery moment.
45 Da fragte Jesus: Wer hat mich berührt? Als alle es abstritten, sagten Petrus und seine Gefährten: Meister, die Leute drängen sich doch von allen Seiten um dich und erdrücken dich fast.	45 Jesus said, 'Who was it that touched me?' When they al denied it, Peter said, 'Master, it is the crowdsround you, pushing.'
46 Jesus erwiderte: Es hat mich jemand berührt; denn ich fühlte, wie eine Kraft von mir ausströmte.	46 But Jesus said, 'Somebody touched me. I felt that power had gone out from me.'
47 Als die Frau merkte, dass sie es nicht verheimlichen konnte, kam sie zitternd zu ihm, fiel vor ihm nieder und erzählte vor allen Leuten, warum sie ihn berührt hatte und wie sie durch die Berührung sofort gesund geworden war.	47 Seeing herself discovered, the woman came forward trembling, and fal ing at his feet explained in frontof al the people why she had touched him and how she had been cured at that very moment.
48 Da sagte er zu ihr: Meine Tochter, dein Glaube hat dir geholfen. Geh in Frieden!	48 'My daughter,' he said, 'your faith has saved you; go in peace.'
49 Während Jesus noch redete, kam einer, der zum Haus des Synagogenvorstehers gehörte, und sagte (zu Jaïrus): Deine Tochter ist gestorben. Bemüh den Meister nicht länger!	49 While he was stil speaking, someone arrived from the house of the president of the synagogue to say,'Your daughter has died. Do not trouble the Master any further.'
50 Jesus hörte es und sagte zu Jaïrus: Sei ohne Furcht; glaube nur, dann wird sie gerettet.	50 But Jesus heard this, and he spoke to the man, 'Do not be afraid, only have faith and she wil besaved.'
51 Als er in das Haus ging, ließ er niemand mit hinein außer Petrus, Johannes und Jakobus und die Eltern des Mädchens.	51 When he came to the house he al owed no one to go in with him except Peter and John and James,and the child's father and mother.
52 Alle Leute weinten und klagten über ihren Tod. Jesus aber sagte: Weint nicht! Sie ist nicht gestorben, sie schläft nur.	52 They were all crying and mourning for her, but Jesus said, 'Stop crying; she is not dead, but asleep.'
53 Da lachten sie ihn aus, weil sie wussten, dass sie tot war.	53 But they ridiculed him, knowing she was dead.
54 Er aber fasste sie an der Hand und rief: Mädchen, steh auf!	54 But taking her by the hand himself he spoke to her, 'Child, get up.'
55 Da kehrte das Leben in sie zurück und sie stand sofort auf. Und er sagte, man solle ihr etwas zu essen geben.	55 And her spirit returned and she got up at that very moment. Then he told them to give her something toeat.
56 Ihre Eltern aber waren außer sich. Doch Jesus verbot ihnen, irgend jemand zu erzählen, was geschehen war.	56 Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tel anyone what had happened.
