1 And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy.	1 J’ai vu alors une bête qui remontait de la mer et qui avait dix cornes et sept têtes; ses cornes portaient dix couronnes et sur ses têtes étaient gravés des titres qui offensent Dieu.
2 And the beast, which I saw, was like to a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his own strength, and great power.	2 La bête que j’ai vue ressemblait à un léopard, mais elle avait des pattes d’ours et une gueule de lion. Le dragon lui a donné sa propre puissance et son trône; elle détient le pouvoir.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were slain to death: and his death's wound was healed. And all the earth was in admiration after the beast.	3 Une des têtes paraissait blessée à mort, mais cette blessure mortelle s’est guérie et toute la terre en est restée stupéfaite. Ils ont suivi la bête
4 And they adored the dragon, which gave power to the beast: and they adored the beast, saying: Who is like to the beast? and who shall be able to fight with him?	4 et ils ont adoré le dragon qui avait donné à la bête le pouvoir. Ils ont même adoré la bête: "Qui donc, disaient-ils, est comme la bête, qui pourrait lui tenir tête?”
5 And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things, and blasphemies: and power was given to him to do two and forty months.	5 On lui a donné de parler avec beaucoup d’orgueil et elle a insulté Dieu. On lui a donné le pouvoir pour 42 mois,
6 And he opened his mouth unto blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.	6 et elle a ouvert la bouche pour insulter Dieu, pour insulter son Nom et sa Résidence, c’est-à-dire ceux qui résident dans les cieux.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. And power was given him over every tribe, and people, and tongue, and nation.	7 On lui a donné de faire la guerre aux saints et de les vaincre; on lui a donné de soumettre les gens de toute tribu, de tout peuple, de toute langue et nation.
8 And all the dwell upon the earth adored him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb, which was slain from the beginning of the world.	8 Tous les habitants de la terre vont l’adorer, tous ceux dont le nom n’est pas écrit depuis la création du monde sur le livre de vie de l’Agneau sacrifié.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.	9 Que celui qui a des oreilles écoute ceci:
10 He that shall lead into captivity, shall go into captivity: he that shall kill by the sword, must be killed by the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.	10 Qui est pour la prison ira à la prison, qui est pour l’épée périra par l’épée. C’est pour les saints l’heure de la fermeté et de la foi.
11 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns, like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon.	11 À ce moment j’ai vu une autre bête qui montait de la terre; elle avait deux cornes comme celles de l’Agneau, mais elle parlait comme le dragon.
12 And he executed all the power of the former beast in his sight; and he caused the earth, and them that dwell therein, to adore the first beast, whose wound to death was healed.	12 Elle est au service de la première bête et dispose de toute son autorité. Elle fait que la terre et ses habitants adorent la première bête qui s’est remise de sa blessure mortelle.
13 And he did great signs, so that he made also fire to come down from heaven unto the earth in the sight of men.	13 Elle fait de grands prodiges; elle a même fait tomber sur terre le feu du ciel à la vue de tous.
14 And he seduced them that dwell on the earth, for the signs, which were given him to do in the sight of the beast, saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make the image of the beast, which had the wound by the sword, and lived.	14 C’est ainsi qu’elle égare les habitants de la terre grâce aux prodiges qu’on lui a donné de faire au service de cette bête. Elle dit aux habitants de la terre: "Faites donc une image de cette bête qui a été frappée de l’épée et s’en est remise.”
15 And it was given him to give life to the image of the beast, and that the image of the beast should speak; and should cause, that whosoever will not adore the image of the beast, should be slain.	15 Elle a été capable de donner vie à cette image de la bête. Et voilà que l’image de la bête se met à parler, et elle fait mettre à mort tous ceux qui n’adorent pas l’image de la bête.
16 And he shall make all, both little and great, rich and poor, freemen and bondmen, to have a character in their right hand, or on their foreheads.	16 C’est ainsi que tous, petits et grands, riches et pauvres, libres ou esclaves, se laissent marquer de la marque de la bête sur leur main droite ou sur le front.
17 And that no man might buy or sell, but he that hath the character, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.	17 Et personne ne peut plus acheter ou vendre s’il n’est pas marqué de la marque de la bête, ou de son nom ou du chiffre de son nom.
18 Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast. For it is the number of a man: and the number of him is six hundred sixty-six.	18 Si vous êtes intelligents, cherchez un peu et devinez à partir du chiffre de la bête. Son chiffre est celui d’une personne et ce chiffre est 666.
