1 Unto the end, for Idithun, a psalm of David.	1 Salmo di Davide, dato al capo de’ Musici, sopra i figliuoli di Iedutun. L’ANIMA mia si acqueta in Dio solo; Da lui procede la mia salute.
2 Shall not my soul be subject to God? for from him is my salvation.	2 Egli solo è la mia rocca e la mia salvezza, Il mio alto ricetto; io non sarò giammai grandemente smosso.
3 For he is my God and my saviour: he is my protector, I shall be moved no more.	3 Infino a quando vi avventerete sopra un uomo? Voi stessi sarete uccisi tutti quanti; E sarete simili ad una parete chinata, E ad un muricciuolo sospinto.
4 How long do you rush in upon a man? you all kill, as if you were thrusting down a leaning wall, and a tottering fence.	4 Essi non consigliano d’altro che di sospinger giù quest’uomo dalla sua altezza; Prendono piacere in menzogna; Benedicono colla lor bocca, Ma maledicono nel loro interiore. Sela.
5 But they have thought to cast away my price; I ran in thirst: they blessed with their mouth, but cursed with their heart.	5 Anima mia, acquetati in Dio solo; Perciocchè la mia speranza pende da lui.
6 But be thou, O my soul, subject to God: for from him is my patience.	6 Egli solo è la mia rocca e la mia salvezza; Egli è il mio alto ricetto, io non sarò giammai smosso.
7 For he is my God and my saviour: he is my helper, I shall not be moved.	7 In Dio è la mia salvezza e la mia gloria; In Dio è la mia forte rocca, il mio ricetto
8 In God is my salvation and my glory: he is the God of my help, and my hope is in God.	8 Confidatevi in lui, o popolo, in ogni tempo; Spandete i vostri cuori nel suo cospetto; Iddio è la nostra speranza. Sela.
9 Trust in him, all ye congregation of people: pour out your hearts before him. God is our helper for ever.	9 Gli uomini volgari non sono altro che vanità, E i nobili altro che menzogna; Se fosser messi in bilance, Tutti insieme sarebbero più leggieri che la vanità stessa.
10 But vain are the sons of men, the sons of men are liars in the balances: that by vanity they may together deceive.	10 Non vi confidate in oppressione, Nè in rapina; non datevi alla vanità; Se le ricchezze abbondano, Non vi mettete il cuore.
11 Trust not in iniquity, and cover not robberies: if riches abound, set not your heart upon them.	11 Iddio ha parlato una volta, E due volte ho udito lo stesso; Che ogni forza appartiene a Dio;
12 God hath spoken once, these two things have I heard, that power belongeth to God,	12 E che a te, Signore, appartiene la benignità; Perciocchè tu renderai la retribuzione a ciascuno secondo le sue opere
13 and mercy to thee, O Lord; for thou wilt render to every man according to his works.
