1 Eliu also proceeded, and said :	1 Dodał jeszcze Elihu, i rzekł:
2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee : for I have yet somewhat to speak in God's behalf.	2 Poczekaj chwilkę, wyjaśnię, bo jeszcze mam słowa od Boga.
3 I will repeat my knowledge from the beginning, and I will prove my Maker just.	3 Daleko poniosę swą wiedzę, by ukazać sprawiedliwość Stwórcy.
4 For indeed my words are without a lie, and perfect knowledge shall be proved to thee.	4 Naprawdę, nie mówię podstępnie, prawdziwie jest mędrzec przed tobą.
5 God doth not cast away the mighty, whereas he himself also is mighty.	5 Oto Bóg nie odrzuca potężnych, umysłów potężnych duchem,
6 But he saveth not the wicked, and he giveth judgment to the poor.	6 ale ciemięzcy żyć nie dozwoli, ubogim przyznaje słuszność,
7 He will not take away his eyes from the just, and he placeth kings on the throne for ever, and they are exalted.	7 nie spuszcza oka z uczciwych, osadza ich na tronach z królami, wywyższa ich po wsze czasy.
8 And if they shall be in chains, and be bound with the cords of poverty :	8 Gdy powrozami związani, w kajdany nędzy zostaną zakuci,
9 He shall shew them their works, and their wicked deeds, because they have been violent.	9 wtedy im stawia przed oczy ich czyny, by ciężkość przestępstw widzieli.
10 He also shall open their ear, to correct them : and shall speak, that they may return from iniquity.	10 Otwiera im uszy na radę, namawia: od zła niech odstąpią!
11 If they shall hear and observe, they shall accomplish their days in good, and their years in glory.	11 Gdy usłuchają z poddaniem, dni płyną im w dobrobycie, a lata mijają w szczęściu.
12 But if they hear not, they shall pass by the sword, and shall be consumed in folly.	12 Niewierni muszą zginąć od dzidy, wyginą z braku rozumu.
13 Dissemblers and crafty men prove the wrath of God, neither shall they cry when they are bound.	13 Ludzie zatwardziali gniew chowają, związani nie chcą ratunku;
14 Their soul shall die in a storm, and their life among the effeminate.	14 wyginą za dni młodości, a życie ich godne pogardy.
15 He shall deliver the poor out of his distress, and shall open his ear in affliction.	15 Biednego On ratuje przez nędzę, cierpieniem otwiera mu uszy.
16 Therefore he shall set thee at large out of the narrow mouth, and which hath no foundation under it : and the rest of thy table shall be full of fatness.	16 I ciebie chce On wybawić z nieszczęść, przed tobą jest dal, nie cieśnina, i stół opływający tłuszczem.
17 Thy cause hath been judged as that of the wicked, cause and judgment thou shalt recover.	17 Lecz ty osądzasz jak niewierny. Dosięgną cię prawa i sądy.
18 Therefore let not anger overcome thee to oppress any man : neither let multitude of gifts turn thee aside.	18 Strzeż się, by cię nie zwiodła obfitość i nie zmylił hojny okup.
19 Lay down thy greatness without tribulation, and all the mighty of strength.	19 Czy skłoni Mocarza twój krzyk bólu, choćbyś wytężył swe siły?
20 Prolong not the night that people may come up for them.	20 Spróbuj nie wzdychać do nocy, w której odchodzą najbliżsi.
21 Beware thou turn not aside to iniquity : for this thou hast begun to follow after misery.	21 Strzeż się, a zła unikaj! Przez nie dosięgła cię nędza.
22 Behold, God is high in his strength, and none is like him among the lawgivers.	22 Wielki jest Bóg w swej wszechmocy, któż takim mistrzem jak On?
23 Who can search out his ways? or who can say to him : Thou has wrought iniquity?	23 Kto Jego drogę chce zganić? Kto powie: źle uczyniłeś?
24 Remember that thou knowest not his work, concerning which men have sung.	24 Staraj się chwalić Jego dzieła, gdy o nich się pieśni układa.
25 All men see him, every one beholdeth afar off.	25 Ogląda je każdy z radością, choć widzi je tylko z daleka.
26 Behold, God is great, exceeding our knowledge : the number of his years is inestimable.	26 Wielki jest Bóg, choć nieznany, lat Jego nikt nie policzy .
27 He lifteth up the drops of rain, and poureth out showers like floods :	27 On krople wody podnosi i mgłę na deszcz skrapla,
28 Which flow from the clouds that cover all above.	28 one płyną z nieba wysoko, obficie spływają na ludzi.
29 If he will spread out clouds as his tent,	29 A kto pojmuje warstwę chmur i huk niebieskiego namiotu?
30 And lighten with his light from above, he shall cover also the ends of the sea.	30 On, Najwyższy, ogniem zieje i zakrywa podstawy morza.
31 For by these he judgeth people, and giveth food to many mortals.	31 Tak utrzymuje ludzi i żywność im daje obficie.
32 In his hands he hideth the light, and commandeth it to come again.	32 Błyskawicą zbrojne ma ręce, wskazuje jej cel oznaczony,
33 He sheweth his friend concerning it, that it is his possession, and that he may come up to it.	33 głos przeciw niemu wydaje: zazdrosny gniew na nieprawość.
