DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Salmo per Salomone O DIO, da’ i tuoi giudicii al re, E la tua giustizia al figliuolo del re	1 [Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice,
2 Ed egli giudicherà il tuo popolo in giustizia, Ed i tuoi poveri afflitti in dirittura.	2 that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement.
3 I monti produrranno pace al popolo; E i colli saranno pieni di giustizia.	3 Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice
4 Egli farà ragione a’ poveri afflitti d’infra il popolo; Egli salverà i figliuoli del misero, E fiaccherà l’oppressore.	4 he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors.
5 Essi ti temeranno per ogni età, Mentre dureranno il sole e la luna.	5 In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age.
6 Egli scenderà come pioggia sopra erba segata; Come pioggia minuta che adacqua la terra.	6 He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land.
7 Il giusto fiorirà a’ dì d’esso, E vi sarà abbondanza di pace, finchè non vi sia più luna.	7 In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more.
8 Ed egli signoreggerà da un mare all’altro, E dal fiume fino alle estremità della terra.	8 His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth.
9 Quelli che abitano ne’ deserti s’inchineranno davanti a lui, Ed i suoi nemici leccheranno la polvere.	9 The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust;
10 I re di Tarsis e delle isole gli pagheranno tributo; I re di Etiopia e di Arabia gli porteranno doni.	10 the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts;
11 E tutti i re l’adoreranno, Tutte le nazioni gli serviranno.	11 all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants.
12 Perciocchè egli libererà il bisognoso che grida, E il povero afflitto, e colui che non ha alcuno che lo aiuti.	12 For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help.
13 Egli avrà compassione del misero e del bisognoso, E salverà le persone de’ poveri.	13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death.
14 Egli riscoterà la vita loro da frode e da violenza; E il sangue loro sarà prezioso davanti a lui.	14 From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight.
15 Così egli viverà, ed altri gli darà dell’oro di Etiopia; E pregherà per lui del continuo, e tuttodì lo benedirà.	15 (Long may he live; may the gold of Sheba be given him!) Prayer wil be offered for him constantly,and blessings invoked on him al day.
16 Essendo seminata in terra, sulla sommità de’ monti, pure una menata di frumento, Quello ch’essa produrrà farà romore come il Libano; E gli abitanti delle città fioriranno come l’erba della terra.	16 May wheat abound in the land, waving on the heights of the hills, like Lebanon with its fruits andflowers at their best, like the grasses of the earth.
17 Il suo nome durerà in eterno, Il suo nome sarà perpetuato di generazione in generazione, Mentre vi sarà sole; E tutte le nazioni saranno benedette in lui, E lo celebreranno beato	17 May his name be blessed for ever, and endure in the sight of the sun. In him shal be blessed everyrace in the world, and all nations call him blessed.
18 Benedetto sia il Signore Iddio, l’Iddio d’Israele, Il qual solo fa maraviglie.	18 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders;
19 Benedetto sia ancora eternamente il Nome suo glorioso; E sia tutta la terra ripiena della sua gloria. Amen, Amen.	19 blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen!
