1 Cantico di Maalot, di Davide. DICA pure ora Israele: Se non che il Signore fu per noi;	1 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2 Se non che il Signore fu per noi, Quando gli uomini si levarono contro a noi;	2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
3 Essi ci avrebbero tranghiottiti tutti vivi, Allora che l’ira loro ardeva contro a noi;	3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4 Allora le acque ci avrebbero inondati; Il torrente sarebbe passato sopra l’anima nostra;	4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5 Allora le acque gonfiate Sarebbero passate sopra l’anima nostra	5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6 Benedetto sia il Signore, Che non ci ha dati in preda a’ lor denti.	6 Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7 L’anima nostra è scampata dal laccio degli uccellatori, come un uccelletto; Il laccio è stato rotto, e noi siamo scampati.	7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8 Il nostro aiuto è nel Nome del Signore, Che ha fatto il cielo e la terra	8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
