5 Il Signore consolidò il regno nelle mani di Giòsafat e tutto Giuda gli portava offerte. Egli ebbe ricchezze e gloria in quantità. | 5 Because of this, Yahweh put him in secure control of the kingdom, while al Judah gave Jehoshaphatpresents until ample riches and honour were his. |

| 6 He was so enthusiastic about obeying Yahweh that once again he abolished the high places andsacred poles in Judah. |

| 9 They gave instruction in Judah, having with them the book of the Law of Yahweh, and went round althe towns of Judah instructing the people. |
10 Il terrore del Signore si diffuse per tutti i regni che circondavano Giuda e così essi non fecero guerra a Giòsafat. | 10 A panic from Yahweh seized all the kings of the countries surrounding Judah, as a result of whichthey did not make war on Jehoshaphat. |
11 Da parte dei Filistei si portavano a Giòsafat tributi e argento in dono; anche gli Arabi gli portavano bestiame minuto: settemilasettecento arieti e settemilasettecento capri.
| 11 Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents and a load of silver and the Arabs brought himseven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred he-goats. |
12 Giòsafat cresceva sempre in potenza. Egli costruì in Giuda castelli e città di approvvigionamento.
| 12 Jehoshaphat became more and more powerful. He built fortresses and storage towns in Judah. |

| 18 And under him Jehozabad, who had one hundred and eighty thousand equipped for war. |
19 Tutti costoro erano al servizio del re, oltre quelli che il re aveva stabiliti nelle fortezze in tutto Giuda. | 19 These were in attendance on the king, apart from those whom the king had stationed in the fortifiedtowns al over Judah. |
