Ageo 2

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 El año segundo del rey Darío, el día veintiuno del séptimo mes, fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh, por medio del profeta Ageo, en estos términos:	1 on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophetHaggai, as follows,
2 Habla ahora a Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, gobernador de Judá, a Josué, hijo de Yehosadaq, sumo sacerdote, y al resto del pueblo, y di:	2 'You are to speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak thehigh priest and to the remnant of the people. Say this,
3 ¿Quién queda entre vosotros que haya visto esta Casa en su primer esplendor? Y ¿qué es lo que veis ahora? ¿No es como nada a vuestros ojos?	3 "Is there anyone left among you who saw this Temple in its former glory? And how does it look to younow? Does it not seem as though there is nothing there?
4 ¡Mas ahora, ten ánimo, Zorobabel, oráculo de Yahveh; ánimo, Josué, hijo de Yehosadaq, sumo sacerdote, ánimo, pueblo todo de la tierra!, oráculo de Yahveh. ¡A la obra, que estoy yo con vosotros - oráculo de Yahveh Sebaot -	4 But take courage now, Zerubbabel!-Yahweh declares. Courage, Joshua son of Jehozadak high priest!Courage, al you people of the country!-Yahweh declares. To work! I am with you -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares-
5 según la palabra que pacté con vosotros a vuestra salida de Egipto, y en medio de vosotros se mantiene mi Espíritu: no temáis!	5 and my spirit is present among you. Do not be afraid!
6 Pues así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Dentro de muy poco tiempo sacudiré yo los cielos y la tierra, el mar y el suelo firme,	6 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this: A little while now, and I shal shake the heavens and the earth, the seaand the dry land.
7 sacudiré todas las naciones; vendrán entonces los tesoros de todas las naciones, y yo llenaré de gloria esta Casa, dice Yahveh Sebaot.	7 I shal shake al the nations, and the treasures of al the nations will flow in, and I shal fil this Templewith glory, says Yahweh Sabaoth.
8 ¡Mía es la plata y mío el oro! oráculo de Yahveh Sebaot.	8 Mine is the silver, mine the gold!-Yahweh Sabaoth declares.
9 Grande será la gloria de esta Casa, la de la segunda mayor que la de la primera, dice Yahveh Sebaot, y en este lugar daré yo paz, oráculo de Yahveh Sebaot.	9 The glory of this new Temple wil surpass that of the old, says Yahweh Sabaoth, and in this place I shalgive peace -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares." '
10 El día vienticuatro del noveno mes, el año segundo de Darío, fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh al profeta Ageo en estos términos:	10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed to the prophet Haggai as fol ows,
11 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Pregunta a los sacerdotes sobre la Ley. Di:	11 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Ask the priests to give a ruling on this:
12 «Si alguien lleva carne sagrada en el halda de su vestido, y toca con su halda pan, guiso, vino, aceite o cualquier otra comida, ¿quedará ésta santificada?» Respondieron los sacerdotes y dijeron: «No».	12 If someone is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his gown and al ows the fold to touch bread,broth, wine, oil or food of any kind, wil that become holy?" ' The priests replied, 'No.'
13 Continuó Ageo: «Si alguien, que se ha hecho impuro por el contacto de un cadáver, toca alguna de esas cosas, ¿ queda ella impura?» Respondieron los sacerdotes y dijeron: «Sí, queda impura».	13 Haggai then said, 'If anyone rendered unclean by contact with a corpse touches any of these things,wil that become unclean?' The priests replied, 'It wil become unclean.'
14 Entonces Ageo tomó la palabra y dijo: «Así es este pueblo, así esta nación delante de mí, oráculo de Yahveh, así toda la labor de sus manos y lo que ofrecen aquí: ¡impuro es!»	14 Haggai then spoke out. 'It is the same with this people,' he said, 'the same with this nation, in my view-- Yahweh declares -- the same with everything they turn their hands to; and whatever they offer here is unclean.
15 Y ahora aplicad bien vuestro corazón, desde este día en adelante: antes de poner piedra sobre piedra en el Templo de Yahveh,	15 'So now think carefully, today and henceforth: before one stone had been laid on another in thesanctuary of Yahweh,
16 ¿qué era de vosotros? Se venía a un montón de veinte medidas y no había más que diez; se venía a la cava para sacar cincuenta cántaros y no había más que veinte.	16 what state were you in? You would come to a twenty-measure heap and find only ten; you wouldcome to a vat to draw fifty measures and find only twenty.
17 Yo os herí con tizón, con añublo y con granizo en toda labor de vuestras manos, y ninguno de vosotros se volvió a mí, oráculo de Yahveh.	17 Everything you turned your hands to, I struck with wind-blast, mildew and hail, and stil you would notreturn to me -- Yahweh declares.
18 Aplicad, pues, vuestro corazón, desde este día en adelante (desde el día veinticuatro del noveno mes, día en que se echaron los cimientos al Templo de Yahveh, aplicad vuestro corazón):	18 So think careful y, today and henceforth (from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the daythe foundation of the sanctuary of Yahweh was laid, think careful y)
19 ¿hay ahora grano en el granero? Pues si ni la vid ni la higuera ni el granado ni el olivo producían fruto, desde este día yo daré bendición.	19 if seed-corn is stil short in the barn, and if vine and fig tree, pomegranate and olive tree still bear nofruit. 'From today onwards I intend to bless you.'
20 La palabra de Yahveh fue dirigida por segunda vez a Ageo, el día veinticuatro del mes, en estos términos:	20 On the twenty-fourth day of the month the word of Yahweh was addressed a second time to Haggai,as fol ows,
21 Habla a Zorobabel, gobernador de Judá y di: Yo voy a sacudir los cielos y la tierra.	21 'Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah. Say this, "I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.
22 Daré vuelta a los tronos de los reinos y destruiré el poder de los reinos de las naciones, daré vuelta al carro y a los que montan en él, y serán abatidos caballos y caballeros cada uno por la espada de su hermano.	22 I shal overturn the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kings of the nations. I shalloverthrow the chariots and their crews; horses and their riders wil fall, every one to the sword of his comrade.
23 Aquel día - oráculo de Yahveh Sebaot - te tomaré a ti, Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, siervo mío - oráculo de Yahveh - y te pondré como anillo de sello, porque a ti te he elegido, oráculo de Yahveh Sebaot.	23 When that day comes -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- I shal take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel myservant -- Yahweh declares -- and make you like a signet ring. For I have chosen you -- Yahweh Sabaothdeclares." '
