SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Dize a Aarão o seguinte:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
2 quando colocares as lâmpadas dispô-las-ás sobre o candelabro de modo que as sete lâmpadas projetem sua luz para a frente do mesmo candelabro."	2 'Speak to Aaron and say, "When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps must throw their light towardsthe front of the lamp-stand." '
3 Aarão assim fez, e colocou as lâmpadas na parte dianteira do candelabro, como o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés.	3 Aaron did this. He set up the lamps to the front of the lamp-stand, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.
4 O candelabro era feito de ouro batido: seu pé, suas flores, tudo era de ouro batido; e foi feito segundo o modelo que o Senhor tinha mostrado a Moisés.	4 This lamp-stand was worked in beaten gold, including its stem and its petals, which were also ofbeaten gold. This lamp-stand had been made according to the pattern Yahweh had shown to Moses.
5 O Senhor disse a Moisés o seguinte:	5 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
6 "Toma os levitas do meio dos israelitas e purifica-os.	6 'Separate the Levites from the Israelites and purify them.
7 Eis como farás para purificá-los: asperge-os com a água da expiação e eles passem uma navalha sobre todo o corpo, lavem as suas vestes e purifiquem-se a si mesmos.	7 This is how you must purify them: you wil sprinkle them with purifying water, and they wil shave theirbodies al over and wash their clothes. They will then be clean.
8 Tomem então um touro com a sua oblação de flor de farinha amassada com óleo; e tomarás tu um segundo touro em sacrifício pelo pecado.	8 They wil then take a young bul , with the accompanying cereal offering of fine flour mixed with oil, andyou wil take a second young bull for a sacrifice for sin.
9 Farás aproximarem-se os levitas diante da tenda de reunião, e convocarás toda a assembléia dos israelitas.	9 You wil then bring the Levites in front of the Tent of Meeting, and assemble the whole community ofIsraelites.
10 Mandarás os levitas que se aproximem diante do Senhor, e os israelitas porão suas mãos sobre eles.	10 Once you have brought the Levites before Yahweh, the Israelites wil lay their hands on them.
11 Aarão oferecerá os levitas ao Senhor, como oferta agitada, em nome dos israelitas, a fim de que eles sejam destinados ao serviço do Senhor.	11 Aaron wil then offer the Levites, making the gesture of offering before Yahweh on behalf of theIsraelites, admitting them to Yahweh's service.
12 Os levitas porão suas mãos sobre as cabeças dos touros, dos quais oferecerá um em sacrifício pelo pecado, e o outro em holocausto ao Senhor para fazer a expiação em favor dos levitas.	12 'The Levites will then lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, one of which you wil offer as asacrifice for sin, and the other as a burnt offering to Yahweh, to perform the rite of expiation for the Levites.
13 Mandarás que os levitas se conservem de pé diante de Aarão e seus filhos, e os apresentarás em oferta agitada ao Senhor.	13 Having brought the Levites before Aaron and his sons, you wil present them to Yahweh with thegesture of offering.
14 Separarás desse modo os levitas do meio dos israelitas, e eles serão meus.	14 That is how you wil set the Levites apart from the Israelites, for them to be mine.
15 Depois disso, virão para a tenda de reunião para me servirem. Assim os purificarás e os apresentarás em oferta agitada.	15 The Levites wil then begin their ministry in the Tent of Meeting. 'You wil purify them and offer themwith the gesture of offering
16 Porque eles me são inteiramente reservados entre os israelitas; eu os tomei para mim em lugar de todo primogênito, daqueles que nascem primeiro entre os filhos de Israel.	16 because, of the Israelites, they have been dedicated to me in place of al those who first emerge fromthe womb, instead of the first-born; of al the Israelites, I have taken them for my own.
17 Porque todo primogênito entre os israelitas, homem ou animal, é meu, eu os consagrei a mim no dia em que feri os primogênitos no Egito.	17 For al the first-born of the Israelites, whether human or animal, do indeed belong to me: the day Istruck down al the first-born in Egypt, I consecrated them to myself,
18 Eu tomei os levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos dos israelitas,	18 and now, in place of al the first-born of the Israelites, I have taken the Levites.
19 e, tirados do meio do povo, dei-os inteiramente a Aarão e seus filhos para fazerem o serviço dos israelitas na tenda de reunião, e para fazerem a expiação em favor dos israelitas, de sorte que estes últimos não sejam feridos por nenhuma praga quando se aproximarem do santuário."	19 Of the Israelites, I give the Levites to Aaron and his sons, as dedicated men, to minister in the Tent ofMeeting on behalf of the Israelites and perform the rite of expiation for them, so that no disaster befal s theIsraelites when the Israelites come close to the sanctuary.'
20 Moisés, Aarão e toda a assembléia dos israelitas fizeram, pois, acerca dos levitas, tudo o que o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés a seu respeito. Assim fizeram os filhos de Israel:	20 Moses, Aaron and the whole community of Israelites dealt with the Levites exactly as Yahweh hadordered Moses concerning them; this is what the Israelites did with them.
21 purificaram-se e lavaram suas vestes. Aarão apresentou-os em oferta agitada diante do Senhor, e fez a expiação por eles a fim de purificá-los.	21 The Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes, and Aaron presented them with thegesture of offering before Yahweh. He then performed the rite of expiation for them to purify them.
22 E vieram em seguida os levitas para a tenda de reunião para fazer o seu serviço, em presença de Aarão e seus filhos. Como o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés acerca dos levitas, assim se fez.	22 The Levites were then al owed to perform their ministry in the Tent of Meeting in the presence ofAaron and his sons. As Yahweh had ordered Moses concerning the Levites, so it was done with them.
23 O Senhor disse a Moisés o seguinte:	23 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
24 "Esta é a lei relativa aos levitas: desde os vinte e cinco anos para cima, o levita será admitido ao serviço na tenda de reunião.	24 'This concerns the Levites. From the age of twenty-five onwards, the Levite will exercise his ministryand do duty in the Tent of Meeting.
25 A partir dos cinqüenta anos, renunciará às suas funções e cessará de servir.	25 After the age of fifty, he is no longer bound to the ministry; he wil have no further duties;
26 Ajudará seus irmãos na tenda de reunião, zelando pelo que lhe foi confiado; mas não exercerá mais as suas funções. Desse modo disporás os levitas nos seus encargos.	26 but he will stil help his brothers to assure the services in the Tent of Meeting, though he himself willno longer have any ministry. That is how you wil act as regards the ministry of the Levites.'
