1 Paul and Sylvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians, in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	1 Paolo, e Silvano, e Timoteo, alla Chiesa de' Tessalonicesi, in Dio Padre, e nel Signor Gesù Cristo.
2 Grace and peace to you. We give thanks to God always for all of you, keeping the memory of you in our prayers without ceasing,	2 Grazia a voi, e pace. Noi rendiam sempre grazie a Dio per tutti voi, facendo continuamente di voi memoria nelle nostre orazioni,
3 remembering your work of faith, and hardship, and charity, and enduring hope, in our Lord Jesus Christ, before God our Father.	3 Ricordevoli della operante fede vostra, e della laboriosa carità, e della costante speranza in Gesù Cristo Signor nostro, nel cospetto di Dio, e padre nostro:
4 For we know, brothers, beloved of God, of your election.	4 Come quegli, che conosciamo, fratelli amati da Dio, la vostra elezione:
5 For our Gospel has not been among you in word alone, but also in virtue, and in the Holy Spirit, and with a great fullness, in the same manner as you know we have acted among you for your sake.	5 Conciossiachè il nostro vangelo presso di voi, fu non nella sola parola, ma anche nella virtù, e nello Spirito santo, e in gran pienezza, come sapete, quali noi fossimo tra di voi per vostro bene.
6 And so, you became imitators of us and of the Lord, accepting the Word in the midst of great tribulation, but with the joy of the Holy Spirit.	6 E voi vi faceste imitatori di noi, e il Signore, ricevuta avendo la parola in gran tribolazione col gaudio dello Spirito santo:
7 So have you become a pattern for all who believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.	7 Di modo che siete stati esempio a tutti i credenti nella Macedonia, e nell'Acaia.
8 For from you, the Word of the Lord was spread, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith, which is toward God, has advanced so much so that we do not need to speak to you about anything.	8 Imperocché da voi si divulgò la parola di Dio non solamente per la Macedonia, e per l'Acaia, ma di più per ogni luogo si propagò la fede, che voi avete in Dio talmente che non fa di mestieri, che noi ne parliamo.
9 For others are reporting among us of the kind of acceptance we had among you, and how you were converted from idols to God, to the service of the living and true God,	9 Imperocché eglino di noi raccontano, qual fosse la nostra entrata tra di voi, e come dagl' idoli vi convertiste a Dio, per servire a Dio vivo, e vero,
10 and to the expectation of his Son from heaven (whom he raised up from the dead), Jesus, who has rescued us from the approaching wrath.	10 E per aspettare il Figliuolo di lui dal cielo (cui egli risuscitò da morte) Gesù, il quale ci sottrasse all'ira, che è per venire.
