Mark 11

1 And as they were approaching Jerusalem and Bethania, toward the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,	1 Cuando se aproximaban a Jerusalén, estando ya al pie del monte de los Olivos, cerca de Betfagé y de Betania, Jesús envió a dos de sus discípulos,
2 and he said to them: “Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately upon entering there, you will find a colt tied, on which no man has yet sat. Release him and bring him.	2 diciéndoles: «Vayan al pueblo que está enfrente y, al entrar, encontrarán un asno atado, que nadie ha montado todavía. Desátenlo y tráiganlo;
3 And if anyone will say to you: ‘What are you doing?’ Say that the Lord has need of him. And he will immediately send him here.”	3 y si alguien les pregunta: «¿Qué están haciendo?», respondan: «El Señor lo necesita y lo va a devolver en seguida».
4 And going out, they found the colt tied before the outer gate, at the meeting of two ways. And they untied him.	4 Ellos fueron y encontraron un asno atado cerca de una puerta, en la calle, y lo desataron.
5 And some of those who were standing there said to them, “What are you doing by releasing the colt?”	5 algunos de los que estaban allí les preguntaron: «¿Qué hacen? ¿Por qué desatan ese asno?».
6 And they spoke to them just as Jesus had instructed them. And they permitted them.	6 Ellos respondieron como Jesús les había dicho y nadie los molestó.
7 And they led the colt to Jesus. And they placed their garments on it; and he sat upon it.	7 Entonces le llevaron el asno, pusieron sus mantos sobre él y Jesús se montó.
8 Then many spread their garments along the way; but others cut down leafy branches from trees and scattered them on the way.	8 Muchos extendían sus mantos sobre el camino; otros, lo cubrían con ramas que cortaban en el campo.
9 And those who went ahead, and those who followed, cried out saying: “Hosanna! Blessed is he who has arrived in the name of the Lord.	9 Los que iban delante y los que seguían a Jesús, gritaban: «¡Hosana! ¡Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor!
10 Blessed is the advent of the kingdom of our father David. Hosanna in the highest!”	10 ¡Bendito sea el Reino que ya viene, el Reino de nuestro padre David! ¡Hosana en las alturas!».
11 And he entered into Jerusalem, into the temple. And having looked around at everything, since it was now the evening hour, he went out to Bethania with the twelve.	11 Jesús llegó a Jerusalén y fue al Templo; después de observarlo todo, como ya era tarde, salió con los Doce hacia Betania.
12 And the next day, as they were departing from Bethania, he was hungry.	12 Al día siguiente, cuando salieron de Betania, Jesús sintió hambre.
13 And when he had seen a fig tree with leaves in the distance, he went to it, in case he might find something on it. And when he had gone to it, he found nothing but leaves. For it was not the season for figs.	13 Al divisar de lejos una higuera cubierta de hojas, se acercó para ver si encontraba algún fruto, pero no había más que hojas; porque no era la época de los higos.
14 And in response, he said to it, “From now on and forever, may no one eat fruit from you again!” And his disciples heard this.	14 Dirigiéndose a la higuera, le dijo: «Que nadie más coma de tus frutos». Y sus discípulos lo oyeron.
15 And they went to Jerusalem. And when he had entered into the temple, he began to cast out the sellers and the buyers in the temple. And he overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the chairs of the vendors of doves.	15 Cuando llegaron a Jerusalén, Jesús entró en el Templo y comenzó a echar a los que vendían y compraban en él. Derribó las mesas de los cambistas y los puestos de los vendedores de palomas,
16 And he would not permit anyone to carry goods through the temple.	16 y prohibió que transportaran cargas por el Templo.
17 And he taught them, saying: “Is it not written: ‘For my house shall be called the house of prayer for all nations?’ But you have made it into a den of robbers.”	17 Y les enseñaba: «¿Acaso no está escrito: Mi Casa será llamada Casa de oración para todas las naciones? Pero ustedes la han convertido en una cueva de ladrones».
18 And when the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, had heard this, they sought a means by which they might destroy him. For they feared him, because the entire multitude was in admiration over his doctrine.	18 Cuando se enteraron los sumos sacerdotes y los escribas, buscaban la forma de matarlo, porque le tenían miedo, ya que todo el pueblo estaba maravillado de su enseñanza.
19 And when evening had arrived, he departed from the city.	19 Al caer la tarde, Jesús y sus discípulos salieron de la ciudad.
20 And when they passed by in the morning, they saw that the fig tree had dried up from the roots.	20 A la mañana siguiente, al pasar otra vez, vieron que la higuera se había secado de raíz.
21 And Peter, remembering, said to him, “Master, behold, the fig tree that you cursed has withered.”	21 Pedro, acordándose, dijo a Jesús: «Maestro, la higuera que has maldecido se ha secado».
22 And in response, Jesus said to them: “Have the faith of God.	22 Jesús respondió: «Tengan fe en Dios.
23 Amen I say to you, that whoever will say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and who will not have hesitated in his heart, but will have believed: then whatever he has said be done, it shall be done for him.	23 Porque yo les aseguro que si alguien dice a esta montaña: «Retírate de ahí y arrójate al mar», sin vacilar en su interior, sino creyendo que sucederá lo que dice, lo conseguirá.
24 For this reason, I say to you, all things whatsoever that you ask for when praying: believe that you will receive them, and they will happen for you.	24 Por eso les digo: Cuando pidan algo en la oración, crean que ya lo tienen y lo conseguirán.
25 And when you stand to pray, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your sins.	25 Y cuando ustedes se pongan de pie para orar, si tienen algo en contra de alguien, perdónenlo, y el Padre que está en el cielo les perdonará también sus faltas».
26 But if you will not forgive, neither will your Father, who is in heaven, forgive you your sins.”	26 (Pero si no perdonan, tampoco el Padre que está en el cielo los perdonará a ustedes)
27 And they went again to Jerusalem. And when he was walking in the temple, the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, and the elders approached him.	27 Y llegaron de nuevo a Jerusalén. Mientras Jesús caminaba por el Templo, los sumos sacerdotes, los escribas y los ancianos se acercaron a él
28 And they said to him: “By what authority do you do these things? And who has given you this authority, so that you would do these things?”	28 y le dijeron: «¿Con qué autoridad haces estas cosas? ¿O quién te dio autoridad para hacerlo?».
29 But in response, Jesus said to them: “I also will ask you one word, and if you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I do these things.	29 Jesús les respondió: «Yo también quiero hacerles una sola pregunta. Si me responden, les diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.
30 The baptism of John: was it from heaven or from men? Answer me.”	30 Díganme: el bautismo de Juan, ¿venía del cielo o de los hombres?».
31 But they discussed it among themselves, saying: “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’	31 Ellos se hacían este razonamiento: «Si contestamos: "Del cielo", él nos dirá: "¿Por qué no creyeron en él"?.
32 If we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the people. For they all hold that John was a true prophet.”	32 ¿Diremos entonces: "De los hombres"?». Pero como temían al pueblo, porque todos consideraban que Juan había sido realmente un profeta,
33 And answering, they said to Jesus, “We do not know.” And in response, Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”	33 respondieron a Jesús: «No sabemos». Y él les respondió: «Yo tampoco les diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas».
