1 At that time, Jesus went out through the ripe grain on the Sabbath. And his disciples, being hungry, began to separate the grain and to eat.	1 En aquel tiempo cruzaba Jesús un sábado por los sembrados. Y sus discípulos sintieron hambre y se pusieron a arrancar espigas y a comerlas.
2 Then the Pharisees, seeing this, said to him, “Behold, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbaths.”	2 Al verlo los fariseos, le dijeron: «Mira, tus discípulos hacen lo que no es lícito hacer en sábado».
3 But he said to them: “Have you not read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him:	3 Pero él les dijo: «¿No habéis leído lo que hizo David cuando sintió hambre él y los que le acompañaban,
4 how he entered the house of God and ate the bread of the Presence, which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?	4 cómo entró en la Casa de Dios y comieron los panes de la Presencia, que no le era lícito comer a él, ni a sus compañeros, sino sólo a los sacerdotes?
5 Or have you not read in the law, that on the Sabbaths the priests in the temple violate the Sabbath, and they are without guilt?	5 ¿Tampoco habéis leído en la Ley que en día de sábado los sacerdotes, en el Templo, quebrantan el sábado sin incurrir en culpa?
6 But I say to you, that something greater than the temple is here.	6 Pues yo os digo que hay aquí algo mayor que el Templo.
7 And if you knew what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you would never have condemned the innocent.	7 Si hubieseis comprendido lo que significa aquello de: Misericordia quiero, que no sacrificio, no condenaríais a los que no tienen culpa.
8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”	8 Porque el Hijo del hombre es señor del sábado».
9 And when he had passed from there, he went into their synagogues.	9 Pasó de allí y se fue a la sinagoga de ellos.
10 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand, and they questioned him, so that they might accuse him, saying, “Is it lawful to cure on the Sabbaths?”	10 Había allí un hombre que tenía una mano seca. Y le preguntaron si era lícito curar en sábado, para poder acusarle.
11 But he said to them: “Who is there among you, having even one sheep, if it will have fallen into a pit on the Sabbath, would not take hold of it and lift it up?	11 El les dijo: «¿Quién de vosotros que tenga una sola oveja, si ésta cae en un hoyo en sábado, no la agarra y la saca?
12 How much better is a man than a sheep? And so, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbaths.”	12 Pues, ¡cuánto más vale un hombre que una oveja! Por tanto, es lícito hacer bien en sábado».
13 Then he said to the man, “Extend your hand.” And he extended it, and it was restored to health, just like the other one.	13 Entonces dice al hombre: «Extiende tu mano». El la extendió, y quedó restablecida, sana como la otra.
14 Then the Pharisees, departing, took council against him, as to how they might destroy him.	14 Pero los fariseos, en cuanto salieron, se confabularon contra él para ver cómo eliminarle.
15 But Jesus, knowing this, withdrew from there. And many followed him, and he cured them all.	15 Jesús, al saberlo, se retiró de allí. Le siguieron muchos y los curó a todos.
16 And he instructed them, lest they make him known.	16 Y les mandó enérgicamente que no le descubrieran;
17 Then what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah was fulfilled, saying:	17 para que se cumpliera el oráculo del profeta Isaías:
18 “Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased. I will place my Spirit over him, and he shall announce judgment to the nations.	18 He aquí mi Siervo, a quien elegí, mi Amado, en quien mi alma se complace. Pondré mi Espíritu sobre él, y anunciará el juicio a las naciones.
19 He shall not contend, nor cry out, neither shall anyone hear his voice in the streets.	19 No disputará ni gritará, ni oirá nadie en las plazas su voz.
20 He shall not crush the bruised reed, and he shall not extinguish the smoking wick, until he sends forth judgment unto victory.	20 La caña cascada no la quebrará, ni apagará la mecha humeante, hasta que lleve a la victoria el juicio:
21 And the Gentiles shall hope in his name.”	21 en su nombre pondrán las naciones su esperanza.
22 Then one who had a demon, who was blind and mute, was brought to him. And he cured him, so that he spoke and saw.	22 Entonces le fue presentado un endemoniado ciego y mudo. Y le curó, de suerte que el mudo hablaba y veía.
23 And all the crowds were stupefied, and they said, “Could this be the son of David?”	23 Y toda la gente atónita decía: «¿No será éste el Hijo de David?»
24 But the Pharisees, hearing it, said, “This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebub, the prince of the demons.”	24 Mas los fariseos, al oírlo, dijeron: «Este no expulsa los demonios más que por Beelzebul, Príncipe de los demonios».
25 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself will become desolate. And every city or house divided against itself will not stand.	25 El, conociendo sus pensamientos, les dijo: «Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo queda asolado, y toda ciudad o casa dividida contra sí misma no podrá subsistir.
26 So if Satan casts out Satan, then he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?	26 Si Satanás expulsa a Satanás, contra sí mismo está dividido: ¿cómo, pues, va a subsistir su reino?
27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your own sons cast them out? Therefore, they shall be your judges.	27 Y si yo expulso los demonios por Beelzebul, ¿por quién los expulsan vuestros hijos? Por eso, ellos serán vuestros jueces.
28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has arrived among you.	28 Pero si por el Espíritu de Dios expulso yo los demonios, es que ha llegado a vosotros el Reino de Dios.
29 Or how can anyone enter into the house of a strong man, and plunder his belongings, unless he first restrains the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.	29 «O, ¿cómo puede uno entrar en la casa del fuerte y saquear su ajuar, si no ata primero al fuerte? Entonces podrá saquear su casa.
30 Whoever is not with me, is against me. And whoever does not gather with me, scatters.	30 «El que no está conmigo, está contra mí, y el que no recoge conmigo, desparrama.
31 For this reason, I say to you: Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.	31 «Por eso os digo: Todo pecado y blasfemia se perdonará a los hombres, pero la blasfemia contra el Espíritu no será perdonada.
32 And anyone who will have spoken a word against the Son of man shall be forgiven. But whoever will have spoken against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven, neither in this age, nor in the future age.	32 Y al que diga una palabra contra el Hijo del hombre, se le perdonará; pero al que la diga contra el Espíritu Santo, no se le perdonará ni en este mundo ni en el otro.
33 Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree evil and its fruit evil. For certainly a tree is known by its fruit.	33 «Suponed un árbol bueno, y su fruto será bueno; suponed un árbol malo, y su fruto será malo; porque por el fruto se conoce el árbol.
34 Progeny of vipers, how are you able to speak good things while you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.	34 Raza de víboras, ¿cómo podéis vosotros hablar cosas buenas siendo malos? Porque de lo que rebosa el corazón habla la boca.
35 A good man offers good things from a good storehouse. And an evil man offers evil things from an evil storehouse.	35 El hombre bueno, del buen tesoro saca cosas buenas y el hombre malo, del tesoro malo saca cosas malas.
36 But I say to you, that for every idle word which men will have spoken, they shall render an account in the day of judgment.	36 Os digo que de toda palabra ociosa que hablen los hombres darán cuenta en el día del Juicio.
37 For by your words shall you be justified, and by your words shall you be condemned.”	37 Porque por tus palabras serás declarado justo y por tus palabras serás condenado».
38 Then certain ones from the scribes and the Pharisees responded to him, saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”	38 Entonces le interpelaron algunos escribas y fariseos: «Maestro, queremos ver una señal hecha por ti».
39 And answering, he said to them: “An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign. But a sign will not be given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.	39 Mas él les respondió: «¡Generación malvada y adúltera! Una señal pide, y no se le dará otra señal que la señal del profeta Jonás.
40 For just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale for three days and three nights, so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.	40 Porque de la misma manera que Jonás estuvo en el vientre del cetáceo tres días y tres noches, así también el Hijo del hombre estará en el seno de la tierra tres días y tres noches.
41 The men of Nineveh shall arise in judgment with this generation, and they shall condemn it. For, at the preaching of Jonah, they repented. And behold, there is a greater than Jonah here.	41 Los ninivitas se levantarán en el Juicio con esta generación y la condenarán; porque ellos se convirtieron por la predicación de Jonás, y aquí hay algo más que Jonás.
42 The Queen of the South shall arise in judgment with this generation, and she shall condemn it. For she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And behold, there is a greater than Solomon here.	42 La reina del Mediodía se levantará en el Juicio con esta generación y la condenará; porque ella vino de los confines de la tierra a oír la sabiduría de Salomón, y aquí hay algo más que Salomón.
43 Now when an unclean spirit departs from a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and he does not find it.	43 «Cuando el espíritu inmundo sale del hombre, anda vagando por lugares áridos en busca de reposo, pero no lo encuentra.
44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house, from which I departed’. And arriving, he finds it vacant, swept clean, and decorated.	44 Entonces dice: “Me volveré a mi casa, de donde salí.” Y al llegar la encuentra desocupada, barrida y en orden.
45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and live there. And in the end, the man becomes worse than he was at first. So, too, shall it be with this most wicked generation.”	45 Entonces va y toma consigo otros siete espíritus peores que él; entran y se instalan allí, y el final de aquel hombre viene a ser peor que el principio. Así le sucederá también a esta generación malvada».
46 While he was still speaking to the crowds, behold, his mother and his brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak with him.	46 Todavía estaba hablando a la muchedumbre, cuando su madre y sus hermanos se presentaron fuera y trataban de hablar con él.
47 And someone said to him: “Behold, your mother and your brothers are standing outside, seeking you.”	47 Alguien le dijo: «¡Oye! ahí fuera están tu madre y tus hermanos que desean hablarte».
48 But responding to the one speaking to him, he said, “Which one is my mother, and who are my brothers?”	48 Pero él respondió al que se lo decía: «¿Quién es mi madre y quiénes son mis hermanos?»
49 And extending his hand to his disciples, he said: “Behold: my mother and my brothers.	49 Y, extendiendo su mano hacia sus discípulos, dijo: «Estos son mi madre y mis hermanos.
50 For anyone who does the will of my Father, who is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”	50 Pues todo el que cumpla la voluntad de mi Padre celestial, ése es mi hermano, mi hermana y mi madre».
