Ezekiel 28

1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 Das Wort des Herrn erging an mich:
2 “Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre: Thus says the Lord God: Because your heart has been exalted, and you have said, ‘I am God, and I sit in the chair of God, in the heart of the sea,’ though you are a man, and not God, and because you have presented your heart as if it were the heart of God:	2 Menschensohn, sag zum Fürsten von Tyrus: So spricht Gott, der Herr: Dein Herz war stolz und du sagtest: Ich bin ein Gott, einen Wohnsitz für Götter bewohne ich mitten im Meer. Doch du bist nur ein Mensch und kein Gott, obwohl du im Herzen geglaubt hast, dass du wie Gott bist.
3 Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; no secret is concealed from you.	3 Gewiss, du bist weiser als Daniel. Kein Geheimnis war dir zu dunkel.
4 By your wisdom and prudence, you have made yourself strong, and you have acquired gold and silver for your storehouses.	4 Durch deine Weisheit und Einsicht schufst du dir Reichtum. Mit Gold und Silber fülltest du deine Kammern.
5 By the multitude of your wisdom, and by your business dealings, you have multiplied strength for yourself. And your heart has been exalted by your strength.	5 Durch deine gewaltige Weisheit, durch deinen Handel hast du deinen Reichtum vermehrt. Doch dein Herz wurde stolz wegen all deines Reichtums.
6 Therefore, thus says the Lord God: Because your heart has been exalted as if it were the heart of God,	6 Darum - so spricht Gott, der Herr: Weil du im Herzen geglaubt hast, dass du wie Gott bist,
7 for this reason, behold, I will lead over you foreigners, the most robust among the Gentiles. And they will bare their swords over the beauty of your wisdom, and they will defile your beauty.	7 darum schicke ich Fremde gegen dich, tyrannische Völker. Sie zücken das Schwert gegen all deine prächtige Weisheit, entweihen deinen strahlenden Glanz.
8 They will destroy you and pull you down. And you will die the death of those slain in the heart of the sea.	8 Man stößt dich hinab in das Grab; wie einer durchbohrt wird und stirbt, so stirbst du mitten im Meer.
9 So then, will you speak, in the presence of those who are destroying you, before the hand of those who are killing you, saying, ‘I am God,’ though you are a man, and not God?	9 Willst du dann angesichts deiner Mörder noch sagen: Ich bin ein Gott? Du bist nur ein Mensch und kein Gott in der Hand deiner Mörder.
10 You will die the death of the uncircumcised at the hand of foreigners. For I have spoken, says the Lord God.”	10 Wie Unbeschnittene sterben, so stirbst du durch Fremde; denn ich habe gesprochen - Spruch Gottes, des Herrn.
11 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre,	11 Das Wort des Herrn erging an mich:
12 and you shall say to him: Thus says the Lord God: You were the seal of similitudes, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.	12 Menschensohn, stimm die Totenklage an über den König von Tyrus und sag zu ihm: So spricht Gott, der Herr: Du warst ein vollendet gestaltetes Siegel, voll Weisheit und vollkommener Schönheit.
13 You were with the delights of the Paradise of God. Every precious stone was your covering: sardius, topaz, and jasper, chrysolite, and onyx, and beryl, sapphire, and garnet, and emerald. The work of your beauty was of gold, and your fissures were ready in the day when you were formed.	13 Im Garten Gottes, in Eden, bist du gewesen. Allerlei kostbare Steine umgaben dich: Rubin, Topas, dazu Jaspis, Chrysolith, Karneol und Onyx, Saphir, Karfunkelstein und Smaragd. Aus Gold war alles gemacht, was an dir erhöht und vertieft war, all diese Zierden brachte man an, als man dich schuf.
14 You were a cherub, stretched out and protecting, and I stationed you on the holy mountain of God. You have walked in the midst of stones containing fire.	14 Einem Kerub mit ausgebreiteten, schützenden Flügeln gesellte ich dich bei. Auf dem heiligen Berg der Götter bist du gewesen. Zwischen den feurigen Steinen gingst du umher.
15 You were perfect in your ways, from the day of your formation, until iniquity was found in you.	15 Ohne Tadel war dein Verhalten seit dem Tag, an dem man dich schuf, bis zu dem Tag, an dem du Böses getan hast.
16 By the multitude of your business dealings, your interior was filled with iniquity, and you sinned. And I cast you away from the mountain of God, and I perished you, O protecting cherub, from the midst of the stones containing fire.	16 Durch deinen ausgedehnten Handel warst du erfüllt von Gewalttat, in Sünde bist du gefallen. Darum habe ich dich vom Berg der Götter verstoßen, aus der Mitte der feurigen Steine hat dich der schützende Kerub verjagt.
17 And your heart was exalted by your beauty; you have destroyed your own wisdom by your beauty. I have cast you to the ground. I have presented you before the face of kings, so that they may examine you.	17 Hochmütig warst du geworden, weil du so schön warst. Du hast deine Weisheit vernichtet, verblendet vom strahlenden Glanz.Ich stieß dich auf die Erde hinab. Den Blicken der Könige gab ich dich preis, damit sie dich alle begaffen.
18 You have defiled your sanctuaries, by the multitude of your iniquities and by the iniquity of your business dealings. Therefore, I will produce a fire from your midst, which will consume you, and I will make you into ashes upon the earth, in the sight of all who are watching you.	18 Du hast durch gewaltige Schuld, durch unredliche Handelsgeschäfte deine Heiligtümer entweiht. So ließ ich mitten in dir ein Feuer ausbrechen, das dich verzehrt hat. Vor den Augen all derer, die dich sahen, machte ich dich zu Asche auf der Erde.
19 All who gaze upon you among the Gentiles will be stupefied over you. You were made out of nothing, and you shall not be, forever.”	19 All deine Freunde unter den Völkern waren entsetzt über dich. Zu einem Bild des Schreckens bist du geworden, du bist für immer dahin.
20 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	20 Das Wort des Herrn erging an mich:
21 “Son of man, set your face against Sidon, and you shall prophesy about it.	21 Menschensohn, richte dein Gesicht auf Sidon, tritt als Prophet gegen die Stadt auf
22 And you shall say: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, Sidon, and I will be glorified in your midst. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have executed judgments in her, and when I will have been sanctified in her.	22 und sag: So spricht Gott, der Herr: Jetzt gehe ich gegen dich vor, Sidon, und verherrliche mich in deiner Mitte. Dann werden sie erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin, wenn ich an der Stadt das Urteil vollstrecke und mich so als heilig erweise.
23 And I will send a pestilence upon her, and there will be blood in her streets. And they will fall, slain by the sword, on every side in her midst. And they shall know that I am the Lord.	23 Ich schicke Pest und Mord in die Gassen der Stadt. Viele fallen in ihr, erschlagen vom Schwert, das von überall her auf sie einschlägt. Dann werden sie erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin.
24 And the house of Israel will no longer be a stumbling block of bitterness, nor a thorn bringing pain everywhere around them, to those who turn against them. And they shall know that I am the Lord God.”	24 Dann droht dem Haus Israel kein stechender Dorn und kein verletzender Stachel mehr von all seinen feindlichen Nachbarn. Daran werden sie erkennen, dass ich Gott, der Herr, bin.
25 Thus says the Lord God: “When I will have gathered together the house of Israel, from the peoples among whom they have been dispersed, I shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the Gentiles. And they shall live in their own land, which I gave to my servant Jacob.	25 So spricht Gott, der Herr: Wenn ich die vom Haus Israel aus all den Ländern zusammenführe, in die sie zerstreut sind, dann erweise ich mich an ihnen vor den Augen der Völker als heilig. Sie werden in ihrem Land wohnen, das ich meinem Knecht Jakob gegeben habe.
26 And they shall live within it securely. And they shall build houses and plant vineyards. And they shall live in confidence, when I will have executed judgments upon all those who turn against them on every side. And they shall know that I am the Lord their God.”	26 Dort werden sie in Sicherheit leben; sie werden Häuser bauen und Weinberge pflanzen. Sie wohnen in Sicherheit, sobald ich an all ihren Feinden ringsum das Urteil vollstrecke. Dann werden sie erkennen, dass ich, der Herr, ihr Gott bin.
