1 And it happened that, in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth of the month, when I was in the midst of the captives beside the river Chebar, the heavens were opened, and I saw the visions of God.	1 El año treinta, el día cinco el cuarto mes, encontrándome yo entre los deportados, a orillas del río Kebar, se abrió el cielo y contemplé visiones divinas.

3 the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel, a priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans, next to the river Chebar. 4 And I saw, and behold, a whirlwind arrived from the north. And a great cloud, wrapped in fire and brightness, was all around it. 5 And in its midst, there was the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: the likeness of a man was in them.	5 Había en el centro como una forma de cuatro seres cuyo aspecto era el siguiente: tenían forma humana.

7 Their feet were straight feet, and the sole of their foot was like the sole of the foot of a calf, and they sparkled with the appearance of glowing brass.	7 Sus piernas eran rectas y la planta de sus pies era como la planta de la pezuña del buey, y relucían como el fulgor del bronce bruñido.
8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on the four sides. And they had faces with the wings on the four sides.	8 Bajo sus alas había unas manos humanas vueltas hacia las cuatro direcciones, lo mismo que sus caras y sus alas, las de los cuatro.
9 And their wings were joined to one another. They did not turn as they went. Instead, each one advanced before his face.	9 Sus alas estaban unidas una con otra; al andar no se volvían; cada uno marchaba de frente.
10 But as for the likeness of their face, there was the face of a man, and the face of a lion on the right of each of the four, then the face of an ox on the left of each of the four, and the face of an eagle above each of the four.	10 En cuanto a la forma de sus caras, era una cara de hombre, y los cuatro tenían cara de león a la derecha, los cuatro tenían cara de toro a la iquierda, y los cuatro tenían cara de águila.
11 Their faces and their wings were extended above: two wings of each one were joined together, and two covered their bodies.	11 Sus alas estaban desplegadas hacia lo alto; cada uno tenía dos alas que se tocaban entre sí y otras dos que le cubrían el cuerpo;
12 And each one of them advanced before his face. Wherever the impetus of the spirit was to go, there they went. And they did not turn as they advanced.	12 y cada uno marchaba de frente; donde el espíritu les hacía ir, allí iban, y no se volvían en su marcha.
13 And as for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like that of burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps. This was the vision dashing in the midst of the living creatures, a bright fire, with lightning going forth from the fire.	13 Entre los seres había algo como brasas incandescentes, con aspecto de antorchas, que se movía entre los seres; el fuego despedía un resplandor, y del fuego salían rayos.
14 And the living creatures went and returned like flashes of lightning.	14 Y los seres iban y venían con el aspecto del relámpago.
15 And as I beheld the living creatures, there appeared above the earth, next to the living creatures, one wheel having four faces.	15 Miré entonces a los seres y vi que había una rueda en el suelo, al lado de los seres de cuatro caras.
16 And the appearance of the wheels and their work was like the appearance of the sea. And each of the four were similar to one another. And their appearance and work was like a wheel in the center of a wheel.	16 El aspecto de las ruedas y su estructura era como el destello del crisólito. Tenían las cuatro la misma forma y parecían dispuestas como si una rueda estuviese dentro de la otra.
17 Going forth, they went by means of their four parts. And they did not turn as they went.	17 En su marcha avanzaban en las cuatro direcciones; no se volvían en su marcha.
18 Also, the size and height and appearance of the wheels was dreadful. And the entire body was full of eyes all around each of the four.	18 Su circunferencia tenía gran altura, era imponente, y la circunferencia de las cuatro estaba llena de destellos todo alrededor.
19 And when the living creatures advanced, the wheels advanced together with them. And when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels, too, were lifted up at the same time.	19 Cuando los seres avanzaban, avanzaban las ruedas junto a ellos, y cuando los seres se elevaban del suelo, se elevaban las ruedas.
20 Wherever the spirit went, as the spirit was going forth to that place, the wheels, too, were lifted up together, so as to follow them. For the spirit of life was in the wheels.	20 Donde el espíritu les hacía ir, allí iban, y las ruedas se elevaban juntamente con ellos, porque el espíritu del ser estaba en las ruedas.
21 When going forth, they went forth, and when standing still, they stood still. And when they were lifted up from the earth, the wheels, too, were lifted up together, so as to follow them. For the spirit of life was in the wheels.	21 Cuando avanzaban ellos, avanzaban ellas, cuando ellos se paraban, se paraban ellas, y cuando ellos se elevaban del suelo, las ruedas se elevaban juntamente con ellos, porque el espíritu del ser estaba en las ruedas.
22 And above the heads of the living creatures was the likeness of a firmament: similar to crystal, but dreadful to behold, and extending over their heads from above.	22 Sobre las cabezas del ser había una forma de bóveda resplandeciente como el cristal, extendida por encima de sus cabezas,
23 And their wings were straight under the firmament, one toward the other. One of them was covered by two wings on his body, and the other was covered similarly.	23 y bajo la bóveda sus alas estaban rectas, una paralela a la otra; cada uno tenía dos que le cubrían el cuerpo.
24 And I heard the sound of their wings, like the sound of many waters, like the sound of the sublime God. When they walked, it was like the sound of a multitude, like the sound of an army. And when they stood still, their wings were let down.	24 Y oí el ruido de sus alas, como un ruido de muchas aguas, como la voz de Sadday; cuando marchaban, era un ruido atronador, como ruido de batalla; cuando se paraban, replegaban sus alas.
25 For when a voice came from above the firmament, which was over their heads, they stood still, and they put down their wings.	25 Y se produjo un ruido.
26 And above the firmament, which was suspended over their heads, there was the likeness of a throne, with the appearance of the sapphire stone. And over the likeness of the throne, there was a likeness with the appearance of a man above it.	26 Por encima de la bóveda que estaba sobre sus cabezas, había algo como una piedra de zafiro en forma de trono, y sobre esta forma de trono, por encima, en lo más alto, una figura de apariencia humana.
27 And I saw something with the appearance of amber, with the likeness of fire within it and all around it. And from his waist and upward, and from his waist downward, I saw something with the appearance of fire shining all around.	27 Vi luego como el fulgor del electro, algo como un fuego que formaba una envoltura, todo alrededor, desde lo que parecía ser sus caderas para arriba; y desde lo que parecía ser sus caderas para abajo, vi algo como fuego que porducía un resplandor en torno,
28 There was the appearance of the rainbow, as when it is in a cloud on a rainy day. This was the appearance of the splendor on every side.	28 con el aspecto del arco iris que aparece en las nubes los días de lluvia: tal era el aspecto de este resplandor, todo en torno. Era algo como la forma de la gloria de Yahveh. A su vista caí rostro en tierra y oí una voz que hablaba.
