Jeremiah 35

1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, saying:	1 Lo detto che Iddio disse a Ieremia nel tempo di Ioachim, figliuolo di Iosia, re di Giuda; e disse così :
2 “Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and lead them into the house of the Lord, into one of the halls of the treasuries. And you shall give them wine to drink.”	2 Va alla casa de' Recabiti, e parla a loro, e menali nella casa di Dio, in una balestriera de' tesauri, e darai a bevere loro del vino.
3 And so I took Jaazaniah, the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and the entire house of the Rechabites,	3 E pigliai Iezonia, figliuolo di Ieremia figliuolo di Absania, e' suoi fratelli e tutta la casa delli Recabiti.
4 and I led them into the house of the Lord, to the treasury of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was near the treasury of the princes, above the storehouse of Maaseiah, the son of Shallum, who was the guardian of the entrance.	4 E mena'li nella casa di Dio, al gazofilacio de' principi sopra lo tesoro di Maasia figliuolo di Sellum, il quale era guardiano dello antiporto. (Lo gazofilacio sì è uno vocabulo per greco, che viene a dire. in volgare tanto quanto lo luogo dove si pongono i danari e le ricchezze).
5 And I placed before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls filled with wine, and chalices. And I said to them, “Drink wine.”	5 E puosi innanzi alla casa de' figliuoli delli Recabiti nappi pieni di vino, e dissi a loro: bevete lo vino.
6 And they responded: “We will not drink wine. For Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, instructed us, saying: ‘You shall not drink wine, you and your sons, in perpetuity.	6 I quali rispuosono: non beremo vino, però che Ionadab, figliuolo di Recab, nostro padre comandò a noi, dicendo: non berete vino, nè voi nè i vostri figliuoli, in sempiterno.
7 And you shall not build houses, and you shall not sow any seeds, and you shall not plant or have vineyards. Instead, you shall live in tents all your days, so that you may live many days upon the face of the earth, in which you are sojourners.’	7 E non edificarete case, e non seminarete semente, e non piantarete vigne, e anche non averete; ma abitarete nelli tabernacoli per tutto il tempo vostro, acciò che voi viviate per molto tempo sopra la terra, nella quale voi siete in peregrinazione.
8 Therefore, we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he has commanded us, so that we do not drink wine all our days, we and our wives, our sons and daughters.	8 Adunque noi ubbidimmo alla voce di Ionadab, figliuolo di Recab, nostro padre in tutto ciò che comandò, sì che noi non bevessimo vino per tutto lo tempo nostro, noi e le nostre donne, e li figliuoli e le figliuole nostre;
9 And we do not build houses in which to live. And we do not have vineyard, or field, or seed to sow.	9 e non edificassimo casa ad abitare, e non avessimo nè campo nè vigna nè semente;
10 Instead, we live in tents, and we have been obedient in accord with all that Jonadab, our father, has instructed us.	10 ma abitassimo ne' tabernacoli; e fummo ubbidienti secondo tutte quelle cose le quali ci comandò Ionadal nostro padre.
11 But when Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had ascended to our land, we said: ‘Come and let us enter into Jerusalem, before the face of the army of the Chaldeans, and before the face of the army of Syria.’ And we have remained in Jerusalem.”	11 E quando Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, venne alla nostra terra, noi dicemmo: venite, ed entriamo in Ierusalem dalla faccia dell' oste de' Caldei, e dalla faccia dell' oste di Siria; e semo in Ierusalem.
12 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:	12 E disse Iddio a Ieremia, dicendo:
13 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will you not accept discipline, so that you obey my words, says the Lord?	13 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d' Israel: va, e di' alli uomini di Giuda e alli abitatori di Ierusalem: or non avete la disciplina, che voi ubbidiate alle mie parole? dice Iddio.
14 The words of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, in which he instructed his sons, so that they would not drink wine, have prevailed. And they have not drunk wine, even to this day. For they have obeyed the instruction of their father. But I have spoken to you, rising and speaking from early morning, and you did not obey me.	14 Adunque sono state più potenti (le mie parole e) le parole di Ionadab, figliuolo di Recab, per le quali parole comandò a' suoi figliuoli, che non bevessono vino; e non hanno bevuto insino a questo giorno, però che hanno ubbidito al comandamento del loro padre; e io hoe parlato a voi, levantemi la mattina e parlando, e non ubbidiste a me.
15 And I have sent to you all my servants, the prophets, rising at first light, and sending, and saying: ‘Convert, each one from his wicked way, and make your intentions good. And do not choose to follow strange gods, nor shall you worship them. And then you shall live in the land which I gave to you and to your fathers.’ And yet you have not inclined your ear, and you have not heeded me.	15 E io mandai a voi tutti i miei servi profeti, [levandomi] nella aurora, comandando e dicendo: convertitevi ciascuno della via [sua] pessima, e fate buoni li vostri studii, e non vogliate seguitare li iddii stranieri, e non li amate; e abiterete in [la] terra la quale io diedi a voi e a' vostri padri; e non inchinaste le vostre orecchie, e non udiste me.
16 So the sons of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, have remained firm in the commandment of their father, which he instructed to them, while this people has not been obedient to me.	16 E fermarono li figliuoli di Ionadab, figliuolo di Recab, lo comandamento del loro padre, lo quale egli avea comandato loro; e questo populo non ubbidie a me.
17 For this reason, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will lead over Judah and over all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every evil that I have declared against them. For I have spoken to them, and they have not listened. I have called to them, and they have not responded to me.”	17 Però questo è lo Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d'Israel, e dice così: ecco io menerò sopra Giuda, e sopra li abitatori di Ierusalem, tutta l'afflizione la quale io hoe parlato incontro a loro, e non mi udirono; io li chiamai, e non mi rispuosono.
18 Then Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites: “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab, your father, and have kept all his precepts, and have done all that he has instructed you,	18 E disse Ieremia alla casa de' Recabiti: questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d'Israel: però che voi ubbediste al comandamento di Ionadab, vostro padre, e guardaste lo suo comandamento, e faceste quello che vi comandò;
19 because of this, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: There will not be a man lacking from the stock of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, standing in my sight, for all days.”	19 [però questo dice] lo Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d' Israel: non mancherà uomo della schiatta di Ionadab nel mio conspetto per tutto il tempo loro.
