1 A Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord because of the words of Cush, the son of Jemini.	1 Salmo di David, cantato da lui al Signore a motivo delle parole di Chus figliuolo di Jemini. Signore, Dio mio, in te ho posta la mia speranza: salvami, e liberami da tutti coloro, che mi perseguitano.
2 O Lord, my God, in you I have hoped. Save me from all those who persecute me, and free me:	2 Affinchè qual lione non faccia preda dell'anima mia, quando non siavi chi porti liberazione, e salute.
3 lest at any time, like a lion, he might seize my soul, while there is no one to redeem me, nor any who can save.	3 Signore, Dio mio, se io ho fatta tal cosa, se havvi nelle mani mie iniquità;
4 O Lord, my God, if there is iniquity in my hands, if I have done this:	4 Se male ho renduto a coloro, che a me ne facevano, cada io giustamente senza pro sotto de' miei nemici.
5 if I have repaid those who rendered evils to me, may I deservedly fall away empty before my enemies:	5 Perseguiti l'inimico l'anima mia, mi raggiunga, e calpesti insiem colla terra la mia vita, e riduca in polvere la mia gloria.
6 let the enemy pursue my soul, and take hold of it, and trample my life into the earth, and drag down my glory into the dust.	6 Levati su, o Signore, nell'ira tua, e fa mostra di tua grandezza in mezzo a' miei nemici. E levati su, o Signore, Dio mio, secondo la legge stabilita da te:
7 Rise up, Lord, in your anger. And be exalted to the borders of my enemies. And rise up, O Lord my God, according to the precept that you commanded,	7 E la moltitudine delle nazioni si adunerà intorno a te. E per amor di questa ritorna nell'alto:
8 and a congregation of people will surround you. And, because of this, return on high.	8 Il Signore fa giudizio dei popoli. Fammi ragione, o Signore, secondo la mia giustizia, e secondo l'innocenza che è in me.
9 The Lord judges the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice and according to my innocence within me.	9 La malvagità de' peccatori avrà fine, e sarai guida del giusto, tu, o Dio, che penetri i cuori, e gli affetti.
10 The wickedness of sinners will be consumed, and you will direct the just: the examiner of hearts and temperaments is God.	10 Il mio soccorso giustamente (aspetto) dal Signore, il quale salva coloro, che sono schietti di cuore.
11 Just is my help from the Lord, who saves the upright of heart.	11 Dio giusto Giudice, forte, e paziente si adira egli forse ogni dì?
12 God is a just judge, strong and patient. How could he be angry throughout every day?	12 Se voi non vi convertirete, egli ruoterà la sua spada: ha teso il suo Arco, e lo tien preparato.
13 Unless you will be converted, he will brandish his sword. He has extended his bow and made it ready.	13 E con esso ha preparati strumenti di morte; le sue frecce ha formate per quelli, che spiran fiamme.
14 And with it, he has prepared instruments of death. He has produced his arrows for those on fire.	14 Ecco che quegli ha partorito l'ingiustizia, ha conceputo dolore, ed ha partorito l'iniquità.
15 Behold him who has given birth to injustice: he has conceived sorrow and has begotten iniquity.	15 Ha aperta, e scavata la fossa, e nella fossa, che ha fatto, egli è caduto.

18 I will confess to the Lord according to his justice, and I will sing a psalm to the name of the Lord Most High.
