But Baldad the Suhite responded by saying:1 υπολαβων δε βαλδαδ ο σαυχιτης λεγει
How long will you throw around words? Understand first, and then let us speak.2 μεχρι τινος ου παυση επισχες ινα και αυτοι λαλησωμεν
Why have we been treated like mules, as if we were unworthy before you?3 δια τι ωσπερ τετραποδα σεσιωπηκαμεν εναντιον σου
You, who ruins your own soul in your fury, will the earth be forsaken because of you, and will the cliffs be moved from their place?4 κεχρηται σοι οργη τι γαρ εαν συ αποθανης αοικητος η υπ' ουρανον η καταστραφησεται ορη εκ θεμελιων
Will not the light of the impious be put out, and the flame of his fire refuse to shine?5 και φως ασεβων σβεσθησεται και ουκ αποβησεται αυτων η φλοξ
Light will become darkness in his tabernacle, and the lamp that is over him will be extinguished.6 το φως αυτου σκοτος εν διαιτη ο δε λυχνος επ' αυτω σβεσθησεται
His strong steps will be constrained, and his own counsel will cast him down uncontrollably.7 θηρευσαισαν ελαχιστοι τα υπαρχοντα αυτου σφαλαι δε αυτου η βουλη
For he has caused his own feet to go into a net, and he has walked into its web.8 εμβεβληται δε ο πους αυτου εν παγιδι εν δικτυω ελιχθειη
His heel will be held in a snare, and thirst will rage against him.9 ελθοισαν δε επ' αυτον παγιδες κατισχυσει επ' αυτον διψωντας
A trap has been hidden for him in the earth, and a decoy, along his path.10 κεκρυπται εν τη γη σχοινιον αυτου και η συλλημψις αυτου επι τριβων
Horrifying things will terrify him everywhere and will entangle his feet.11 κυκλω ολεσαισαν αυτον οδυναι πολλοι δε περι ποδας αυτου ελθοισαν εν λιμω στενω
Let his strength be diminished by famine, and let starvation invade his ribs.12 πτωμα δε αυτω ητοιμασται εξαισιον
Let it devour the beauty of his skin; let the ancient death consume his arms.13 βρωθειησαν αυτου κλωνες ποδων κατεδεται δε τα ωραια αυτου θανατος
Let his confidence be torn away from his tabernacle, and let ruin trample over him like a king.14 εκραγειη δε εκ διαιτης αυτου ιασις σχοιη δε αυτον αναγκη αιτια βασιλικη
Let the companions of he who is not, dwell in his tabernacle; let brimstone rain down upon his tabernacle.15 κατασκηνωσει εν τη σκηνη αυτου εν νυκτι αυτου κατασπαρησονται τα ευπρεπη αυτου θειω
Let his roots be dried up from beneath him, and his harvest be crushed from above.16 υποκατωθεν αι ριζαι αυτου ξηρανθησονται και επανωθεν επιπεσειται θερισμος αυτου
Let the memory of him perish from the earth, and let not his name be celebrated in the streets.17 το μνημοσυνον αυτου απολοιτο εκ γης και υπαρχει ονομα αυτω επι προσωπον εξωτερω
He will expel him from light into darkness, and he will remove him from the world.18 απωσειεν αυτον εκ φωτος εις σκοτος
Neither his offspring, nor his descendents, will exist among his people, nor will there be any remnants in his country.19 ουκ εσται επιγνωστος εν λαω αυτου ουδε σεσωσμενος εν τη υπ' ουρανον ο οικος αυτου αλλ' εν τοις αυτου ζησονται ετεροι
The last will be astonished at his day, and the first will be overcome with horror.20 επ' αυτω εστεναξαν εσχατοι πρωτους δε εσχεν θαυμα
And so, these are the tabernacles of the sinful, and this the place of he who does not know God.21 ουτοι εισιν οικοι αδικων ουτος δε ο τοπος των μη ειδοτων τον κυριον
