Ezekiel 8

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
	1 El sexto año, el quinto del sexto mes, mientras yo estaba sentado en mi casa y los ancianos de Judá estaban sentados delante de mí, descendió sobre mí la mano del Señor.
	2 Yo miré y vi una figura con aspecto humano. Desde lo que parecía ser su cintura para abajo, había fuego, y desde su cintura para arriba, había una especie de claridad, un fulgor como de electro.
3 Spirit lifted me up in the air and brought me in divine visions to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate, where stood the statue of jealousy which stirs up jealousy.	3 Extendió algo así como una mano y me tomó por un mechón de mis cabellos. Un espíritu me levantó entre la tierra y el cielo y me llevó en una visión divina a Jerusalén, hasta la entrada de la puerta interior que da hacia el norte, allí donde está emplazado el Idolo de los celos que provoca los celos de Dios.
	4 Allí estaba la gloria del Dios de Israel, tal como yo la había visto en el valle.
5 He said to me: Son of man, look toward the north! I looked toward the north and saw northward of the gate the altar of the statue of jealousy.	5 El me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, levanta tus ojos hacia el norte». Yo levanté mis ojos hacia el norte y vi que al norte de la puerta del altar, justo a la entrada, estaba el Idolo de los celos.
6 Son of man, he asked me, do you see what they are doing? Do you see the great abominations that the house of Israel is practicing here, so that I must depart from my sanctuary? But you shall see still greater abominations!	6 El me dijo: «Hijo de hombres, ¿ves lo que lo que hacen? ¿Ves las grandes abominaciones que cometen aquí los israelitas para que yo me aleje de mi Santuario? Pero tú verás abominaciones más grandes todavía».
7 Then he brought me to the entrance of the court, where I saw there was a hole in the wall.	7 Después me llevó a la entrada del atrio; yo miré y vi que había un agujero en el muro.
8 Son of man, he ordered, dig through the wall. I dug through the wall and saw a door.	8 El me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, abre un boquete en el muro». Yo abrí un boquete y vi que había una puerta.
9 Enter, he said to me, and see the abominable evils which they are doing here.	9 El me dijo: «Entra y mira las abominaciones que están cometiendo ahí».
10 I entered and saw that all around upon the wall were pictured the figures of all kinds of creeping things and loathsome beasts (all the idols of the house of Israel).	10 Yo entré y miré, y vi que había toda clase de reptiles y de animales horribles y todos los ídolos de la casa de Israel, grabados en todas las paredes.
11 Before these stood seventy of the elders of the house of Israel, among whom stood Jaazaniah, son of Shaphan, each of them with his censer in his hand, and the fragrance of the incense was rising upward.	11 Setenta hombres de entre los ancianos del pueblo de Israel –entre los cuales se encontraba Iazanías, hijo de Satán– estaban de pie delante de ellos: cada uno tenía un incensario en la mano, y subía el perfume de una nube de incienso.
12 Then he said to me: Do you see, son of man, what each of these elders of the house of Israel is doing in his idol room? They think: "The LORD cannot see us; the LORD has forsaken the land."	12 El me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, ¿ves lo que los ancianos del pueblo de Israel hacen a escondidas, cada uno en su habitación adornada de pinturas? Porque ellos piensan: El Señor no nos ve; el Señor ha abandonado el país».
13 He continued: You shall see still greater abominations that they are practicing.	13 Después, él me dijo: «Verás que cometen abominaciones más grandes todavía».
14 Then he brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the temple, and I saw sitting there the women who were weeping for Tammuz.	14 Y me llevó hasta la entrada de la puerta de la Casa del Señor, lo que da hacia el norte, y vi que allí había unas mujeres sentadas llorando a Tamuz.
15 Then he said to me: Do you see this, son of man? You shall see other abominations, greater than these!	15 El me dijo: «¿Has visto, hijo de hombre? Tú verás abominaciones más grandes todavía».
16 Then he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and there at the door of the LORD'S temple, between the vestibule and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs to the LORD'S temple and their faces toward the east; they were bowing down to the sun.	16 Luego me llevó hacia el atrio interior de la Casa del Señor, y vi que a la entrada del Templo del Señor, entre el vestíbulo y el altar, había unos veinticinco hombres, dando la espalda al Templo del Señor, y con sus rostros vueltos hacia el oriente; y ellos se postraron hacia el oriente, delante del sol.
17 Do you see, son of man? he asked me. Is it such a trivial matter for the house of Judah to do the abominable things they have done here--for they have filled the land with violence, and again and again they have provoked me--that now they must also put the branch to my nose?	17 El me dijo: «¿Has visto, hijo de hombre? ¿No le basta al pueblo de Judá cometer las abominaciones que aquí cometen, que también han llenado el país de violencia y no cesan de irritarme? Ellos llevan el ramo hasta su nariz.
18 Therefore I in turn will act furiously: I will not look upon them with pity nor will I show mercy.	18 Yo también obraré con furor, sin una mirada de piedad y sin tener compasión. Gritarán con toda su voz a mis oídos, pero no los escucharé.
