Isaiah 57

1 The just man perishes, but no one takes it to heart; Devout men are swept away, with no one giving it a thought. Though he is taken away from the presence of evil, the just man	1 El justo desaparece y a nadie le llama la atención; los hombres de bien son arrebatados, sin que nadie comprenda que el justo es arrebatado a consecuencia de la maldad.
2 enters into peace; There is rest on his couch for the sincere, straightforward man.	2 Pero llegará la paz: los que van por el camino recto descansarán en sus lechos.
3 But you, draw near, you sons of a sorceress, adulterous, wanton race!	3 ¡Y ustedes, acérquense aquí, hijos de una hechicera, raza de un adúltero y una prostituta!
4 Of whom do you make sport, at whom do you open wide your mouth, and put out your tongue? Are you not rebellious children, a worthless race;	4 ¿De quién se burlan? ¿Contra quién abren la boca y sacan la lengua? ¿No son ustedes hijos de la rebeldía, una raza bastarda?
5 You who are in heat among the terebinths, under every green tree; You who immolate children in the wadies, behind the crevices in the cliffs?	5 ¡Ustedes, que arden de lujuria junto a los terebintos, bajo todo árbol frondoso, e inmolan niños en los torrentes, en las hendiduras de las rocas!
6 Among the smooth stones of the wadi is your portion, these are your lot; To these you poured out libations, and brought offerings. Should I decide not to punish these things?	6 Las piedras lisas del torrente son tu parte: ¡sí, ellas te han tocado en suerte! En su honor has derramado libaciones, has presentado ofrendas, y yo ¿me dejaré aplacar con esas cosas?
7 Upon a high and lofty mountain you made your bed, and there you went up to offer sacrifice.	7 Sobre una montaña alta y empinada has instalado tu lecho, y allí has subido a ofrecer sacrificios.
8 Behind the door and the doorpost you placed your indecent symbol. Deserting me, you spread out your high, wide bed; And of those whose embraces you love you carved the symbol and gazed upon it	8 Detrás de los postes de la puerta has colocado tu memorial; y has subido al lecho que habías tendido; has hecho un trato con uno de esos con quienes te gusta acostarte, y has contemplado la insignia.
9 While you approached the king with scented oil, and multiplied your perfumes; While you sent your ambassadors far away, down even to the nether world.	9 Corres hacia Mélec con el aceite, prodigas tus perfumes; envías muy lejos a tus mensajeros, los haces descender hasta el Abismo.
10 Though worn out by your many misdeeds, you never said, "It is hopeless"; New strength you found, and so you did not weaken.	10 Te has cansado de tanto caminar, pero no dices: «¡Es inútil!». Has renovado la fuerza de tu brazo, y por eso no te has debilitado.
11 Of whom were you afraid? Whom did you fear, that you became false And did not remember me or give me any thought? Was I to remain silent and unseeing, so that you would not have me to fear?	11 ¿De quién tenías miedo, a quién temías, para mentir y no acordarte de mí, para no prestarme ninguna atención? ¿Será porque me quedé callado y cerré los ojos que tú no me temes?
12 I will expose your justice and your works;	12 ¡Pero yo voy a denunciar tu justicia y tus obras: ellas no te servirán de nada!
13 They shall not help you when you cry out, nor save you in your distress. All these the wind shall carry off, the breeze shall bear away; But he who takes refuge in me shall inherit the land, and possess my holy mountain.	13 Cuando clames, que te libren tus ídolos: ¡el viento se los llevará a todos ellos, un soplo los disipará! Pero el que se refugia en mí heredará la tierra y entrará en posesión de mi santa Montaña.
14 Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove the stumbling blocks from my people's path.	14 Entonces se dirá: ¡Abran paso, abran paso, preparen un camino, quiten los obstáculos del camino de mi Pueblo!
15 For thus says he who is high and exalted, living eternally, whose name is the Holy One: On high I dwell, and in holiness, and with the crushed and dejected in spirit, To revive the spirits of the dejected, to revive the hearts of the crushed.	15 Porque así habla él que es alto y excelso, el que habita en una morada eterna, aquel cuyo Nombre es santo; Yo habito en una altura santa, pero estoy con el contrito y humillado, para reavivar los espíritus humillados, para reavivar los corazones contritos.
16 I will not accuse forever, nor always be angry; For their spirits would faint before me, the souls that I have made.	16 No, yo no recrimino para siempre ni me irrito eternamente, porque entonces desfallecerían ante mí el espíritu y el aliento de vida que yo mismo hice.
17 Because of their wicked avarice I was angry, and struck them, hiding myself in wrath, as they went their own rebellious way.	17 Por sus ganancias injustas, yo me irrité, y lo herí, ocultándome en mi irritación, pero el rebelde siguió el camino que quería.
18 I saw their ways, but I will heal them and lead them; I will give full comfort to them and to those who mourn for them,	18 Yo he visto sus caminos, pero lo sanaré, lo guiaré y lo colmaré de consuelos; y de los labios de los que están de duelo,
19 I, the Creator, who gave them life. Peace, peace to the far and the near, says the LORD; and I will heal them.	19 haré brotar la acción de gracias. ¡Paz al que está lejos, paz al que está cerca! Yo lo sanaré, dice el Señor.
20 But the wicked are like the tossing sea which cannot be calmed, And its waters cast up mud and filth.	20 Pero los impíos son como un mar agitado, que no se puede calmar y cuyas aguas arrojan fango y cieno.
21 No peace for the wicked! says my God.	21 ¡No hay paz para los impíos!, dice el Señor.
