1 My son, if you have sinned, do so no more, and for your past sins pray to be forgiven.	1 Figlio, se hai peccato, non continuare, ma chiedi perdono del tuo passato.
2 Flee from sin as from a serpent. that will bite you if you go near it; Its teeth are lion's teeth, destroying the souls of men.	2 Come davanti al serpente fuggi il peccato; se ti avvicini ti morderà. I suoi denti sono denti di leone che distruggono la vita degli uomini.
3 Every offense is a two-edged sword; when it cuts, there can be no healing.	3 La disobbedienza è spada a doppio taglio, non c'è guarigione per la sua ferita.
4 Violence and arrogance wipe out wealth; so too a proud man's home is destroyed.	4 Chi incute terrore ed è insolente distrugge la ricchezza, perciò la casa del superbo sarà sradicata.
5 Prayer from a poor man's lips is heard at once, and justice is quickly granted him.	5 La preghiera del povero va dritta alle orecchie di Dio, sicché il giudizio verrà molto presto.
6 He who hates correction walks the sinner's path, but he who fears the LORD repents in his heart.	6 Chi sprezza il monito è sulla via dei peccatori, ma chi teme il Signore si pente di cuore.
7 Widely known is the boastful speaker but the wise man knows his own faults.	7 Si conosce da lontano chi fa sfoggio di parole, ma chi riflette teme di sbagliare.
8 He who builds his house with another's money is collecting stones for his funeral mound.	8 Chi costruisce la casa con ricchezze altrui raccoglie pietre per il suo sepolcro.
9 A band of criminals is like a bundle of tow; they will end in a flaming fire.	9 Matassa di stoppa gli iniqui quando sono insieme, finiranno come vampata di fuoco.
10 The path of sinners is smooth stones that end in the depths of the nether world.	10 La via dei peccatori è di pietre lisce, ma finisce nella fossa dell'Ade.
11 He who keeps the law controls his impulses; he who is perfect in fear of the LORD has wisdom.	11 Chi osserva la legge controlla i suoi pensieri, il timore del Signore porta alla sapienza.

20 A fool raises his voice in laughter, but the prudent man at the most smiles gently.	20 Lo stolto ride sghignazzando, il saggio sorride con calma.
21 Like a chain of gold is learning to a wise man, like a bracelet on his right arm.	21 Gioiello d'oro è per il saggio la disciplina, e un bracciale al polso destro.
