For the leader. A song; a psalm.1 [For the choirmaster Song Psalm] Acclaim God, al the earth,
Shout joyfully to God, all you on earth; sing of his glorious name; give him glorious praise.2 sing psalms to the glory of his name, glorify him with your praises,
Say to God: "How awesome your deeds! Before your great strength your enemies cringe.3 say to God, 'How awesome you are! 'Your achievements are the measure of your power, yourenemies woo your favour,
All on earth fall in worship before you; they sing of you, sing of your name!" Selah4 al the earth bows down before you, sings psalms to you, sings psalms to your name.'Pause
Come and see the works of God, awesome in the deeds done for us.5 Come and see the marvels of God, his awesome deeds for the children of Adam:
He changed the sea to dry land; through the river they passed on foot. Therefore let us rejoice in him,6 he changed the sea into dry land, they crossed the river on foot. So let us rejoice in him,
who rules by might forever, Whose eyes are fixed upon the nations. Let no rebel rise to challenge! Selah7 who rules for ever by his power; his eyes keep watch on the nations to forestal rebel ion againsthim.Pause
Bless our God, you peoples; loudly sound his praise,8 Nations, bless our God, let the sound of his praise be heard;
Who has kept us alive and not allowed our feet to slip.9 he brings us to life and keeps our feet from stumbling.
You tested us, O God, tried us as silver tried by fire.10 God, you have put us to the test, refined us like silver,
You led us into a snare; you bound us at the waist as captives.11 let us fal into the net; you have put a heavy strain on our backs,
You let captors set foot on our neck; we went through fire and water; then you led us out to freedom.12 let men ride over our heads; but now the ordeal by fire and water is over, you have led us out tobreathe again.
I will bring holocausts to your house; to you I will fulfill my vows,13 I bring burnt offerings to your house, I fulfil to you my vows,
The vows my lips pronounced and my mouth spoke in distress.14 the vows that rose to my lips, that I pronounced when I was in trouble.
Holocausts of fatlings I will offer you and burnt offerings of rams; I will sacrifice oxen and goats. Selah15 I wil offer you rich burnt offerings, with the smoke of burning rams. I wil sacrifice to you bul ocks andgoats.Pause
Come and hear, all you who fear God, while I recount what has been done for me.16 Come and listen, all who fear God, while I tel what he has done for me.
I called to the Lord with my mouth; praise was upon my tongue.17 To him I cried aloud, high praise was on my tongue.
Had I cherished evil in my heart, the Lord would not have heard.18 Had I been aware of guilt in my heart, the Lord would not have listened,
But God did hear and listened to my voice in prayer.19 but in fact God did listen, attentive to the sound of my prayer.
Blessed be God, who did not refuse me the kindness I sought in prayer.20 Blessed be God who has not turned away my prayer, nor his own faithful love from me.
