1 Rejoice, you just, in the LORD; praise from the upright is fitting.	1 Giubilate nel Signore, o giusti; ai retti s'addice la lode.
2 Give thanks to the LORD on the harp; on the ten-stringed lyre offer praise.	2 Celebrate il Signore con la cetra, con l'arpa a dieci corde a lui inneggiate.
3 Sing to God a new song; skillfully play with joyful chant.	3 Cantate a lui un cantico nuovo, salmodiate con arte in giubilo festoso.
4 For the LORD'S word is true; all his works are trustworthy.	4 Poiché retta è la parola del Signore e fedeltà ogni sua opera.
5 The LORD loves justice and right and fills the earth with goodness.	5 Egli ama la giustizia e l'equità; della misericordia del Signore è piena la terra.
6 By the LORD'S word the heavens were made; by the breath of his mouth all their host.	6 Con la parola del Signore furon fatti i cieli e col soffio della sua bocca tutto il loro ornamento.
7 The waters of the sea were gathered as in a bowl; in cellars the deep was confined.	7 Egli riunì come in un otre le acque del mare, in serbatoi collocò gli abissi.
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all who dwell in the world show reverence.	8 Tema il Signore tutta la terra, lo riveriscano tutti gli abitanti del mondo;
9 For he spoke, and it came to be, commanded, and it stood in place.	9 poiché egli parlò e fu fatto, egli comandò ed esso fu creato.
10 The LORD foils the plan of nations, frustrates the designs of peoples.	10 Sventa il Signore il piano dei popoli, rende vani i propositi delle nazioni.
11 But the plan of the LORD stands forever, wise designs through all generations.	11 Il piano del Signore sussiste per sempre, il proposito del suo cuore di generazione in generazione.
12 Happy the nation whose God is the LORD, the people chosen as his very own.	12 Beata la nazione il cui Dio è il Signore, il popolo ch'egli s'è scelto per eredità.
13 From heaven the LORD looks down and observes the whole human race,	13 Il Signore guarda dal cielo, osserva tutti i figli dell'uomo.
14 Surveying from the royal throne all who dwell on earth.	14 Dal luogo della sua dimora guarda su tutti gli abitanti della terra.
15 The one who fashioned the hearts of them all knows all their works.	15 Ad uno ad uno plasmò il loro cuore, egli scruta tutte le loro azioni.
16 A king is not saved by a mighty army, nor a warrior delivered by great strength.	16 Nessun re può salvarsi con la moltitudine dei suoi soldati; nessun prode trova scampo nell'abbondanza del suo vigore.
17 Useless is the horse for safety; its great strength, no sure escape.	17 Impotente è il cavallo a portar salvezza e scampo non può portare con l'abbondanza della sua forza.
18 But the LORD'S eyes are upon the reverent, upon those who hope for his gracious help,	18 Ecco, l'occhio del Signore è sopra quelli che lo temono, su quelli che sperano nella sua misericordia,
19 Delivering them from death, keeping them alive in times of famine.	19 per liberare dalla morte le loro anime, per farli sopravvivere in tempo di fame.
20 Our soul waits for the LORD, who is our help and shield.	20 Verso il Signore anela l'anima nostra: egli è nostro aiuto e nostro scudo.
21 For in God our hearts rejoice; in your holy name we trust.	21 Sì, in lui gioisce il nostro cuore; sì, noi confidiamo nel santo suo nome.
22 May your kindness, LORD, be upon us; we have put our hope in you.	22 Sia su di noi, o Signore, la tua misericordia, poiché in te abbiamo posto la nostra fiducia.
