1 A song of ascents. The LORD answered me when I called in my distress:	1 Canticum ascensionum. Ad Dominum, cum tribularer, clamavi, et exaudivit me.
2 LORD, deliver me from lying lips, from treacherous tongues.	2 Domine, libera animam meam a labiis mendacii, a lingua dolosa.
3 What will the Lord inflict on you, O treacherous tongue, and what more besides?	3 Quid detur tibi aut quid apponatur tibi, lingua dolosa?
4 A warrior's sharpened arrows and fiery coals of brush wood!	4 Sagittae potentis acutae cum carbonibus iuniperorum.
5 Alas, I was an alien in Meshech, I lived near the tents of Kedar!	5 Heu mihi, quia peregrinatus sum in Mosoch, habitavi ad tabernacula Cedar!
6 Too long did I live among those who hated peace.	6 Multum incola fuit anima mea cum his, qui oderunt pacem.
7 When I spoke of peace, they were for war.	7 Ego eram pacificus; cum loquebar, illi impugnabant me.
