1 Then the LORD answered Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. Forced by my mighty hand, he will send them away; compelled by my outstretched arm, he will drive them from his land."	1 Yahvé répondit à Moïse: “Tu vas voir, je serai plus fort que le Pharaon. Non seulement il les laissera partir, mais même il les chassera de son pays.”
2 God also said to Moses, "I am the LORD.	2 Dieu parla à Moïse et lui dit: “Je suis Yahvé!
3 As God the Almighty I appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but my name, LORD, I did not make known to them.	3 Je me suis manifesté à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob comme le Dieu de la Steppe: eux ne m’ont pas connu par mon nom de Yahvé.
4 I also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they were living as aliens.	4 Pourtant j’ai établi mon alliance avec eux pour leur donner la terre de Canaan, la terre qu’ils ont parcourue comme des nomades.
5 And now that I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are treating as slaves, I am mindful of my covenant.	5 J’ai bien entendu le cri des Israélites à cause des Égyptiens qui les traitent en esclaves, et je me suis souvenu de mon alliance.
6 Therefore, say to the Israelites: I am the LORD. I will free you from the forced labor of the Egyptians and will deliver you from their slavery. I will rescue you by my outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.	6 Tu vas donc dire aux Israélites: Je suis Yahvé, je vous ferai sortir de l’esclavage d’Égypte et je vous délivrerai de l’oppression. Je frapperai de grands coups pour vous racheter, je les corrigerai durement.
7 I will take you as my own people, and you shall have me as your God. You will know that I, the LORD, am your God when I free you from the labor of the Egyptians	7 Je ferai de vous mon peuple et je serai votre Dieu. Et vous saurez que je suis Yahvé votre Dieu, celui qui vous a fait sortir de l’esclavage d’Égypte.
8 and bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I will give it to you as your own possession--I, the LORD!"	8 “Je vous ferai entrer dans le pays que j’ai juré de vous donner, lorsque je parlais à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob; je vous le donnerai et il sera à vous, car je suis Yahvé.”
9 But when Moses told this to the Israelites, they would not listen to him because of their dejection and hard slavery.	9 Moïse rapporta toutes ces paroles aux Israélites, mais ils n’étaient pas capables de l’écouter, vu la dureté de leur esclavage.
10 Then the LORD said to Moses,	10 Yahvé dit alors à Moïse:
11 "Go and tell Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to let the Israelites leave his land."	11 “Va trouver Pharaon, le roi d’Égypte: qu’il renvoie les Israélites de son pays.”
12 But Moses protested to the LORD, "If the Israelites would not listen to me, how can it be that Pharaoh will listen to me, poor speaker that I am!"	12 Mais Moïse répondit à Yahvé: “Si les Israélites ne m’ont pas écouté, comment veux-tu que le Pharaon m’écoute, moi qui ne sais même pas m’exprimer?”
13 Still, the LORD, to bring the Israelites out of Egypt, spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them his orders regarding both the Israelites and Pharaoh, king of Egypt.	13 Alors Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron, il leur donna des instructions pour les Israélites et pour le Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, pour qu’il laisse sortir d’Égypte le peuple d’Israël.
14 These are the heads of the ancestral houses. The sons of Reuben, the first-born of Israel, were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron and Carmi; these are the clans of Reuben.	14 Voici les chefs des tribus: Fils de Ruben, premier-né d’Israël: Hénok, Palou, Hesron et Karmi. Ce sont les clans de Ruben.
15 The sons of Simeon were Jenuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar and Shaul, who was the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the clans of Simeon.	15 Fils de Siméon: Yémouel, Yamin, Ohad, Yakin, Sohar et Chaoul, qui était fils d’une Cananéenne. Ce sont les clans de Siméon.
16 The names of the sons of Levi, in their genealogical order, are Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived one hundred and thirty-seven years.	16 Voici les noms des fils de Lévi ainsi que leur descendance: Guerchon, Kahat et Mérari. Lévi vécut 137 ans.
17 The sons of Gershon, as heads of clans, were Libni and Shimei.	17 Fils de Guerchon: Libni et Chiméï, avec leurs clans.
18 The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived one hundred and thirty-three years.	18 Fils de Kahat: Amram, Yisar, Hébron et Ouziel. Kahat vécut 133 ans.
19 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans of Levi in their genealogical order.	19 Fils de Mérari: Mali et Mouchi. Ce sont les clans de Lévi et leur descendance.
20 Amram married his aunt Jochebed, who bore him Aaron, Moses and Miriam. Amram lived one hundred and thirty-seven years.	20 Amram épousa Yokébed, sa tante, qui lui donna Aaron et Moïse. Amram vécut 137 ans.
21 The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg and Zichri.	21 Les fils de Yisar furent: Coré, Népheg et Zikri.
22 The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.	22 Les fils d’Ouziel: Mikaël, Elsafan et Sitri.
23 Aaron married Amminadab's daughter, Elisheba, the sister of Nahshon; she bore him Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	23 Aaron épousa Élichéba, fille d’Aminadab, sœur de Nachon. Elle lui donna: Nadab, Abihou, Éléazar et Itamar.
24 The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These are the clans of the Korahites.	24 Fils de Coré: Assir, Elkana et Abiasaf. Ce sont les clans des Coréites.
25 Aaron's son, Eleazar, married one of Putiel's daughters, who bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the ancestral clans of the Levites.	25 Éléazar fils d’Aaron épousa une fille de Poutiel qui lui donna Pinhas. Ce sont les clans des Lévites, selon leur ordre.
26 This is the Aaron and this the Moses to whom the LORD said, "Lead the Israelites from the land of Egypt, company by company."	26 Ce sont eux, Aaron et Moïse, qui reçurent de Yahvé cet ordre: “Faites sortir d’Égypte les fils d’Israël, en ordre de bataille!”
27 These are the ones who spoke to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to bring the Israelites out of Egypt--the same Moses and Aaron.	27 Ce sont eux, Moïse et Aaron, qui parlèrent à Pharaon, le roi d’Égypte, pour faire sortir d’Égypte les Israélites. Moïse et Aaron, ce sont eux!
28 On the day the LORD spoke to Moses in Egypt	28 Le jour où Yahvé parla à Moïse en Égypte,
29 he said, "I am the LORD. Repeat to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, all that I tell you."	29 Yahvé lui dit: “Je suis Yahvé! Tu rediras à Pharaon, le roi d’Égypte, tout ce que je te dirai.”
30 But Moses protested to the LORD, "Since I am a poor speaker, how can it be that Pharaoh will listen to me?"	30 Mais Moïse répondit à Yahvé: “Je ne sais pas m’exprimer, comment le Pharaon m’écoutera-t-il?”
