1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother was named Jerusa, daughter of Zadok.	1 Jotam w chwili objęcia rządów miał dwadzieścia pięć lat, a szesnaście lat panował w Jerozolimie. Matce jego było na imię Jerusza, córka Sadoka.
2 He pleased the LORD just as his father Uzziah had done, though he did not enter the temple of the LORD; the people, however, continued to act sinfully.	2 Czynił on to, co jest słuszne w oczach Pańskich, i we wszystkim działał tak, jak jego ojciec Ozjasz, nie wtargnął jednak, jak on do świątyni Pańskiej. Ale lud nadal był zepsuty.
3 He built the upper gate of the LORD'S house and had much construction done on the wall of Ophel.	3 On to wybudował Bramę Górną świątyni Pańskiej i przeprowadził wiele prac przy murach Ofelu.
4 Moreover, he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forest land he set up fortresses and towers.	4 Budował też miasta w górach judzkich, a w lasach wzniósł zamki i wieże.
5 He fought with the king of the Ammonites and conquered them. That year the Ammonites paid him one hundred talents of silver, together with ten thousand kors of wheat and ten thousand of barley. They brought the same to him also in the second and in the third year.	5 On to walczył z królem Ammonitów i zwyciężył go. W roku tym dali mu Ammonici sto talentów srebra, dziesięć tysięcy kor pszenicy i dziesięć tysięcy kor jęczmienia. Podobnie płacili mu Ammonici także i w drugim, i w trzecim roku.
6 Thus Jotham continued to grow strong because he lived resolutely in the presence of the LORD, his God.	6 Jotam wzrósł w potęgę, ponieważ utwierdził swoje drogi przed Panem, Bogiem swoim.

9 Jotham rested with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David, and his son Ahaz succeeded him as king.	9 I spoczął Jotam przy swoich przodkach, i pochowano go w Mieście Dawidowym. A jego syn Achaz został w jego miejsce królem.
