1 פולוס וסלונוס וטימותיוס אל קהלת התסלוניקים באלהים אבינו ובאדנינו ישוע המשיח
2 חסד לכם ושלום מאת אלהים אבינו ואדנינו ישוע המשיח	2 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 חיבים אנחנו להודות בכל עת לאלהים עליכם אחי כראוי כי אמונתכם גדלה מאד ורבה אהבת כלכם איש לרעהו	3 We must always thank God for you, brothers; quite rightly, because your faith is growing so wonderfullyand the mutual love that each one of you has for al never stops increasing.
4 עד כי נתהלל בכם אף אנחנו בקהלות אלהים על סבלנותכם ועל אמונתכם בכל הרדיפות ובכל הלחץ אשר סבלתם	4 Among the churches of God we take special pride in you for your perseverance and faith under al thepersecutions and hardships you have to bear.
5 לאות צדקת משפט אלהים למען תמצאו ראוים למלכות האלהים אשר בעבורה גם תענו	5 It al shows that God's judgement is just, so that you may be found worthy of the kingdom of God; it isfor the sake of this that you are suffering now.
6 באשר צדיק האלהים לגמל לחץ ללחציכם	6 For God's justice wil surely mean hardship being inflicted on those who are now inflicting hardship onyou,
7 ולכם הנלחצים רוחה אתנו יחד בהגלות האדון ישוע מן השמים עם מלאכי עזו	7 and for you who are now suffering hardship, relief with us, when the Lord Jesus appears from heavenwith the angels of his power.
8 באש להבה להשיב נקם לאשר לא ידעו את האלהים ולא שמעו לבשורת אדנינו ישוע המשיח	8 He wil come amid flaming fire; he wil impose a penalty on those who do not acknowledge God andrefuse to accept the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
9 אשר ישאו משפט אבדן עולם מאת פני האדון ומהדר גאונו	9 Their punishment is to be lost eternal y, excluded from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength
10 בבאו ביום ההוא להכבד בקדשיו ולהתפלא בכל המאמינים כי האמנתם לעדותנו אליכם	10 on that day when he comes to be glorified among his holy ones and marvelled at by al who believe inhim; and you are among those who believed our witness.
11 לכן גם נתפלל בעדכם בכל עת אשר יתן אתכם אלהינו ראוים אל אשר אתם מקראים וימלא בעז כל חפצכם בטוב וכל מעשה אמונתכם	11 In view of this we also pray continual y that our God wil make you worthy of his cal , and by his powerfulfil all your desires for goodness, and complete al that you have been doing through faith;
12 למען יכבד בכם שם ישוע אדנינו ואתם תכבדו בו על פי חסד אלהינו ואדנינו ישוע המשיח	12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you and you in him, by the grace of ourGod and the Lord Jesus Christ.
