Deuteronomy 25

1 If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.	1 Se sarà piato (o questione) tra alcune persone, e anderanno alli giudici a porre ciascuno la sua ragione del loro piato, quello che i giudici vederanno (e giudicheranno) che sia giusto, daranno a colui (che hae ragione la vittoria e) la palma della giustizia; e colui che non avrà la ragione, (sarà falso quello che dice, e) condannerannolo siccome empio (e malvagio).
2 And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.	2 E se vederanno colui che hae peccato, (e detto falso) che sia degno d'essere martoriato (e bat tuto), getterannolo a terra, e dinanzi a sè sì lo faranno battere e percuotere. Secondo come è grande (la colpa e) il peccato, così saranno grandi le piaghe (e la pena che gli daranno);
3 Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.	3 fuori che non passeranno il numero tassato, cioè quaranta colpi (con quello che sia battuto gli daranno) acciò che, troppo sozzamente (battuto e) la cerato, non istia isteso in terra dinanzi agli occhii tuoi il fratello tuo.
4 Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.	4 Non legherai la bocca del bue, il quale trita (e batte) la biada tua nell’aia (tua).
5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her.	5 E quando o due o più fratelli (istaranno e) abiteranno insieme, e l'uno di costoro sarà morto e sanza figliuoli, la moglie di colui morto non (torrà e non) si mariterà ad alcun'altra persona; ma il fratello di quello, il quale è morto, sì la torrà per moglie, e sì susciterà il seme del suo fratello (cioè farà sì che da lei abbia figliuoli, se potrà).
6 And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.	6 E quello figliuolo il quale nascerà di lei in prima, averà nome per lo padre suo, acciò che non si spenga (e non venga meno) il suo nome in Israel.
7 And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.	7 Ma se il fratello non vorrà torre per moglie la moglie del suo fratello, la quale sì gli conviene secondo la legge, anderà la femina (la quale è rimasa vedova) alla porta della città; e sì parlerà alli maggiori (e alli più nobili) della città, e sì dirà loro: il fratello del mio marito (che è morto) non vuole suscitare d'avere figliuoli del suo fratello, cioè non mi vuole törre per sua mogliere.
8 Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;	8 E incontanente costoro il faranno venire dinanzi da loro, e sì ' l domanderanno; e se rispon derà loro, che non la voglia torre per moglie,
9 Then shall his brother's wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house.	9 anderà a lui la femina, e dinanzi a questi antichi, e sì torrà il calzaio (o la scarpetta) de' piedi suoi, e sì gli sputerà nella faccia, e dirà: così sarà fatto all'uomo che non (vuole nè) edifica la casa del suo fratello.
10 And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.	10 E sarà chiamato il nome suo, in Israel, CASA DI DISCALZAMENTO.
11 When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:	11 Se due uomini avranno parole o turbazione insieme, e l'uno all'altro comincerà a dare, e la moglie dell' uno vorrà trarlo della mano di colui il quale è più forte (che non è il suo marito, e anderà) e piglierà colui di sotto per la natura colla sua mano (mettendogliele sotto, cioè che la femina metta la mano sotto all'uomo);
12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.	12 fa che tu le mozzi la mano, e non tinchi nerai ad averle misericordia alcuna.
13 Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.	13 Non avrai (nè non torrai) nel tuo sacco (o in altro luogo) pesi diversi, cioè maggiore e minore.
14 Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.	14 Nè (terrai nè) sarà nella casa tua uno (staio e uno) moggio grande e piccolo.
15 But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.	15 Tu avrai il peso giusto e vero; il moggio (e lo staio) uguale e vero (averai e) terrai, acciò che tu viva molto tempo sopra la terra, la quale Iddio tuo Signore t'avrà data.
16 For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.	16 Iddio certo hae in abbominazione colui che fa queste cose; e sì è contro ad ogni ingiustizia.
17 Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;	17 Ricòrdati di quello che ti feceAma lec nella via, quando tu uscivi d'Egitto;
18 How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.	18 come ti venne incontro, e quegli ch' erano ultimi nelle tue ischiere (cioè nella coda) i quali erano lassi (e affaticati) e riposavansi, come gli uccise, quando tu eri istanco di fame e di fatica, e non ebbe paura alcuna di Dio.
19 Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.	19 Adunque, quando Iddio t'avrà dato requie (e riposo), e avratti sottomesso tutte le nazioni din torno nella terra ch' egli thae promessa, fa che (tu ispenghi il nome, cioè d'Amalec, e che) di sotto al cielo mai non sia ricordanza di lui, e che non tesca di mente (cioè) di spegnerlo, (però che sarà liberazione di malo esempio, cioè d'Amalec).
