KING JAMES BIBLELA SACRA BIBBIA
Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.1 Allora vidi che sopra la volta che era sulla testa dei cherubini appariva come una pietra di zaffiro, il cui aspetto aveva la forma di trono.
And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.2 Egli disse all'uomo vestito di lino: "Va' fra le ruote sotto il cherubino e riempiti le mani di carboni accesi in mezzo ai cherubini e spargili sulla città". Quello si incamminò sotto i miei occhi.
Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.3 Mentre l'uomo andava, i cherubini si erano messi alla destra del tempio. La nube riempiva il cortile interno.
Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD's glory.4 Quando la Gloria del Signore si era alzata dal cherubino portandosi sopra al podio del tempio, il tempio si era riempito della nube e il cortile si era riempito dello splendore della Gloria del Signore.
And the sound of the cherubims' wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh.5 Il rumore delle ali dei cherubini si era sentito fin nel cortile esterno, come la voce dell'Onnipotente quando parla.
And it came to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels.6 Intanto, avendo egli ordinato all'uomo vestito di lino così: "Prendi il fuoco fra le ruote, in mezzo ai cherubini", quegli andò e si pose a fianco alla ruota.
And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out.7 Il cherubino stese la mano di tra i cherubini verso il fuoco che era tra i cherubini, ne prelevò e ne mise nella mano di quello vestito di lino che lo prese e uscì.
And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man's hand under their wings.8 Si era intravista nei cherubini la sagoma di un braccio umano sotto le loro ali.
And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone.9 Vidi pure quattro ruote a fianco dei cherubini, una ruota vicino a ogni cherubino; le ruote avevano l'aspetto luccicante del crisolito.
And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel.10 Apparivano di forma identica tutt'e quattro come se una ruota fosse congegnata nell'altra.
When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went.11 Quando si muovevano procedevano sui quattro lati, nel procedere non si giravano, ma là dove si rivolgeva la principale andavano senza girarsi.
And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had.12 Tutto il loro corpo, il dorso, le mani, le ali e le singole ruote erano piene di occhi tutt'intorno, ognuno dei quattro aveva la propria ruota.
As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel.13 Le loro ruote, a quanto udii, erano chiamate Turbine.
And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.14 Essi avevano quattro facce ciascuno; una era di cherubino, la seconda di uomo, la terza di leone e la quarta di aquila.
And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar.15 I cherubini, cioè gli esseri che avevo visto sul canale Chebàr, si alzarono.
And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them: and when the cherubims lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them.16 Con i cherubini procedevano anche le ruote e quando i cherubini allargavano le ali per alzarsi da terra, le ruote non si allontanavano dal loro fianco.
When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted up themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.17 Quando essi si fermavano, si fermavano anch'esse e quando essi si alzavano, si alzavano anch'esse con loro; c'era infatti in esse il vento degli esseri.
Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.18 La gloria del Signore si staccò quindi dal podio del tempio e si pose sui cherubini.
And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD's house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.19 I cherubini allargarono le ali e si alzarono da terra sotto i miei occhi, e le ruote con essi. Sostarono all'ingresso della porta orientale del tempio con la Gloria del Dio d'Israele su di loro.
This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims.20 Erano gli esseri che vidi sotto il Dio d'Israele presso il canale Chebàr; capii che erano i cherubini.
Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings.21 Avevano quattro facce ciascuno e quattro ali ciascuno e la forma di mani umane sotto le ali.
And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward.22 La forma delle facce era come quelle che avevo visto presso il canale Chebàr. Ciascuno andava diritto davanti a sé.
