1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.	1 En la trentième année, le cinquième jour du quatrième mois, alors que j’étais parmi les déportés sur le bord du fleuve Kébar, les cieux s’ouvrirent et je vis des visions de Dieu.
2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,	2 Le cinquième jour du mois, en la cinquième année de la déportation du roi Joïakin,
3 The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.	3 la parole de Yahvé fut adressée au prêtre Ézékiel fils de Bouzi, au pays des Kaldéens, sur les bords du fleuve Kébar. La main de Yahvé fut sur moi.
4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.	4 Je regardai: un vent de tempête venait du nord. Je vis une grande nuée: là un feu fulgurant s’environnait de lumière, et tout au centre c’était comme du métal incandescent.
5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.	5 Au milieu du feu il y avait quatre êtres vivants, tous les quatre semblables.
6 And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.	6 Chacun avait quatre faces et quatre ailes.
7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.	7 Leurs jambes étaient droites, avec des sabots comme ceux des bœufs; elles brillaient comme le bronze poli.
8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.	8 Sous leurs ailes ils avaient (sur les quatre côtés) des mains d’hommes. Leurs ailes à tous les quatre
9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.	9 se touchaient de l’un à l’autre. Ils n’avaient pas à se tourner dans leur marche: ils allaient droit devant une de leurs faces.
10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.	10 Leur face était semblable à celle d’un homme, mais les quatre avaient aussi une face de lion à droite, les quatre avaient une face de taureau à gauche et les quatre avaient une face d’aigle.
11 Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.	11 Leurs ailes étaient déployées vers le haut; chacun avait deux ailes qui rejoignaient celles de ses compagnons et deux ailes qui lui couvraient le corps.
12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.	12 Chacun d’eux allait droit devant une de ses faces, ils allaient là où l’esprit les poussait et ne se tournaient pas en marchant.
13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.	13 Entre les êtres il y avait comme des charbons ardents: on aurait dit un ballet de torches entre ces êtres; le feu illuminait, et du feu jaillissaient des éclairs.
14 And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.	14 Ces êtres allaient et venaient comme l’éclair.
15 Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.	15 Regardant bien ces êtres, je vis une roue à terre à côté de chacun des quatre.
16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.	16 Ces roues scintillaient comme des pierres précieuses; toutes les quatre avaient la même forme. Chaque roue était double: on aurait dit deux roues entrecroisées.
17 When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.	17 De cette façon elles pouvaient avancer dans les quatre directions, elles n’avaient pas à se tourner.
18 As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.	18 Leur jante était de grande taille et d’aspect terrifiant, car les quatre avaient des yeux tout autour.
19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.	19 Lorsque les êtres avançaient, les roues avançaient à côté d’eux, lorsque les êtres s’élevaient de terre, les roues aussi s’élevaient.
20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.	20 Les êtres allaient là où l’Esprit voulait, et les roues y allaient aussi, car l’esprit qui était dans l’être était aussi dans les roues.
21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.	21 Quand ils avançaient, elles avançaient; quand ils s’arrêtaient, elles s’arrêtaient; quand ils s’élevaient de terre, les roues s’élevaient également, car l’esprit de l’être était aussi celui des roues.
22 And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.	22 Par-dessus les êtres on voyait comme une plate-forme de cristal resplendissant;
23 And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.	23 sous la plate-forme leurs ailes se dressaient parallèles l’une à l’autre.
24 And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.	24 J’entendis alors le bruit de leurs ailes, comme le bruit des grandes eaux, comme la voix du Dieu Tout-Puissant. Lorsqu’ils marchaient, c’était un bruit de tempête, comme le vacarme d’une foule; lorsqu’ils s’arrêtaient, ils repliaient leurs ailes.
25 And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.	25 J’entendis un bruit au-dessus de la plate-forme qui était par-dessus leur tête.
26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.	26 Je vis comme une pierre de saphir en forme de trône et sur cette forme de trône un être ayant une apparence humaine dans sa partie supérieure.
27 And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.	27 Je le vis comme entouré de métal incandescent, plongé dans le feu, et depuis ce qui était comme ses reins et au-dessous, ce n’était que du feu qui projetait de la lumière.
28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.	28 La lumière qui l’entourait avait l’aspect de l’arc qu’on voit dans les nuages aux jours de pluie. Cette vision était une image de la Gloire de Yahvé, quand je la vis je tombai la face contre terre; j’entendis alors une voix qui me parlait.
