1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,	1 Yahvé dit à Moïse:
2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.	2 “Voici ce que tu diras à la communauté d’Israël: Soyez saints, car moi, Yahvé votre Dieu, je suis saint!
3 Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.	3 Chacun respectera sa mère et son père, et vous observerez mes sabbats: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu!
4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.	4 Vous ne vous tournerez pas vers les idoles, vous ne vous fabriquerez pas des dieux en métal fondu: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu!
5 And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will.	5 Lorsque vous offrirez un sacrifice de communion en l’honneur de Yahvé, vous le ferez de manière à lui être agréable.
6 It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.	6 Vous mangerez de votre sacrifice le jour même et le lendemain, mais ce qui restera le troisième jour sera brûlé.
7 And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.	7 Si quelqu’un en mange le troisième jour, c’est un acte abominable: son sacrifice ne sera pas agréé.
8 Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.	8 Celui qui en mangera répondra de sa faute, car il a profané ce qui est consacré à Yahvé: cet homme sera retranché de son peuple.”
9 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.	9 “Quand viendra le temps de moissonner vos terres, tu ne moissonneras pas jusqu’à la limite de ton champ et tu ne ramasseras pas ce qui peut être glané de ta moisson.
10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.	10 Tu ne cueilleras pas non plus les grappes restées sur ta vigne et tu ne ramasseras pas les fruits tombés dans ton verger. Tu les laisseras pour le pauvre et l’étranger: je suis Yahvé ton Dieu!
11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.	11 Vous ne volerez pas, vous ne tromperez pas votre prochain, vous ne mentirez pas.
12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.	12 Vous ne jurerez pas par mon nom pour appuyer un mensonge: ce serait profaner le nom de ton Dieu: je suis Yahvé!
13 Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.	13 Tu n’opprimeras pas ton prochain, tu ne le dépouilleras pas; le salaire de celui qui travaille pour toi ne restera pas chez toi jusqu’au lendemain.
14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.	14 Tu ne prononceras pas de malédiction contre un sourd, tu ne mettras pas d’obstacle devant un aveugle pour le faire tomber; mais tu auras la crainte de ton Dieu: je suis Yahvé!
15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.	15 Vous ne commettrez pas d’injustice dans les jugements. Tu ne feras pas de faveur au pauvre, tu ne feras pas d’honneur au puissant, mais tu jugeras ton prochain avec justice.
16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.	16 Tu ne calomnieras pas tes parents, tu n’exigeras pas le sang de ton prochain: je suis Yahvé!
17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.	17 Tu n’auras pas de haine dans ton cœur pour ton frère, mais tu le corrigeras, car en te taisant tu serais complice de son péché.
18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.	18 Tu ne te vengeras pas, tu ne garderas pas de rancune envers un fils de ton peuple, mais tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même: je suis Yahvé!
19 Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.	19 Vous observerez mes coutumes: tu n’accoupleras pas deux bêtes d’espèces différentes; tu ne sèmeras pas dans ton champ deux graines d’espèces différentes; tu ne porteras pas de vêtement tissé de deux espèces de fil différentes.
20 And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.	20 Si un homme a des rapports avec une esclave déjà fiancée à un autre homme, mais qui n’a été ni rachetée ni affranchie, ils seront châtiés tous les deux mais non punis de mort, car la femme n’était pas affranchie.
21 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.	21 Pour sa faute, l’homme amènera à Yahvé, devant la Tente du Rendez-Vous, un bélier pour le sacrifice d’expiation.
22 And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.	22 Le prêtre offrira le bélier et fera pour lui l’expiation devant Yahvé pour le péché qu’il a commis, et son péché lui sera pardonné.
23 And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.	23 Quand vous serez entrés dans le pays et que vous aurez planté toutes sortes d’arbres fruitiers, vous regarderez les fruits comme incirconcis: les trois premières années vous n’en mangerez point.
24 But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal.	24 La quatrième année, tous les fruits seront consacrés à Yahvé.
25 And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.	25 À partir de la cinquième année vous mangerez les fruits de l’arbre car ils seront désormais pour vous: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu!
26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.	26 Vous ne mangerez rien avec le sang, vous ne pratiquerez ni sorcellerie, ni magie.
27 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.	27 Vous ne tondrez pas en rond les cheveux de votre tête et vous ne couperez pas les coins de votre barbe.
28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.	28 Vous ne vous ferez pas d’incision sur le corps pour un mort et vous ne vous ferez pas d’inscription ou de tatouage sur le corps: je suis Yahvé!
29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.	29 Ne livre pas ta fille à la prostitution, sinon vous aurez un pays de prostituées, un réservoir de crimes.
30 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.	30 Vous observerez mes sabbats et vous aurez du respect pour ma Demeure: je suis Yahvé!
31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.	31 Ne vous tournez pas vers ceux qui évoquent les esprits, vers les sorciers. Ne les consultez pas, ne vous souillez pas avec eux: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu!
32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.	32 Tu te lèveras devant une personne âgée et tu honoreras le vieillard, ce sera ta façon de craindre ton Dieu: je suis Yahvé!
33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.	33 Si un étranger vient habiter dans votre pays, vous ne l’opprimerez pas.
34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.	34 Vous traiterez l’étranger qui est au milieu de vous comme un homme du pays. Tu l’aimeras comme toi-même, car vous aussi vous avez été étrangers dans le pays d’Égypte: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu!
35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.	35 Vous ne commettrez pas d’injustice, ni dans vos sentences, ni dans les mesures, ni dans les poids, ni dans les contenances.
36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.	36 Vos balances seront justes, vos poids seront justes, toutes vos mesures seront justes. Je suis Yahvé votre Dieu, qui vous ai fait sortir du pays d’Égypte.
37 Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.	37 Vous observerez donc toutes mes coutumes et tous mes commandements, et vous les mettrez en pratique: je suis Yahvé!”
