KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.1 Hallelujah!
While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.2 Praise the LORD, my soul; I shall praise the LORD all my life, sing praise to my God while I live.
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.3 I Put no trust in princes, in mere mortals powerless to save.
His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.4 When they breathe their last, they return to the earth; that day all their planning comes to nothing.
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:5 Happy those whose help is Jacob's God, whose hope is in the LORD, their God,
Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:6 The maker of heaven and earth, the seas and all that is in them, Who keeps faith forever,
Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:7 secures justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free;
The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:8 the LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD raises up those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous.
The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.9 The LORD protects the stranger, sustains the orphan and the widow, but thwarts the way of the wicked.
The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.10 The LORD shall reign forever, your God, Zion, through all generations! Hallelujah!
