Psalms 13

KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?1 For the leader. A psalm of David.
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?2 How long, LORD? Will you utterly forget me? How long will you hide your face from me?
3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;3 How long must I carry sorrow in my soul, grief in my heart day after day? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.4 Look upon me, answer me, LORD, my God! Give light to my eyes lest I sleep in death,
5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.5 Lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed," lest my foes rejoice at my downfall.
6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.6 I trust in your faithfulness. Grant my heart joy in your help, That I may sing of the LORD, "How good our God has been to me!"
