Baruch 5

JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Jérusalem quitte ta robe de tristesse et de misère, revêts pour toujours la beauté de la gloire de Dieu,	1 Jerusalem, take off your dress of sorrow and distress, put on the beauty of God's glory for evermore,
2 prends la tunique de la justice de Dieu, mets sur ta tête le diadème de gloire de l'Eternel;	2 wrap the cloak of God's saving justice around you, put the diadem of the Eternal One's glory on yourhead,
3 car Dieu veut montrer ta splendeur partout sous le ciel,	3 for God means to show your splendour to every nation under heaven,
4 et ton nom sera de par Dieu pour toujours: "Paix de la justice et gloire de la piété."	4 and the name God gives you for evermore wil be, 'Peace-through-Justice, and Glory-through-Devotion'.
5 Jérusalem, lève-toi, tiens-toi sur la hauteur, et regarde vers l'Orient: vois tes enfants du couchant aulevant rassemblés sur l'ordre du Saint, jubilants, car Dieu s'est souvenu.	5 Arise, Jerusalem, stand on the heights and turn your eyes to the east: see your children reassembledfrom west and east at the Holy One's command, rejoicing because God has remembered.
6 Car ils t'avaient quittée à pied, sous escorte d'ennemis, mais Dieu te les ramène portésglorieusement, comme un trône royal.	6 Though they left you on foot driven by enemies, now God brings them back to you, carried gloriously,like a royal throne.
7 Car Dieu a décidé que soient abaissées toute haute montagne et les collines éternelles, et combléesles vallées pour aplanir la terre, pour qu'Israël chemine en sécurité dans la gloire de Dieu.	7 For God has decreed the flattening of each high mountain, of the everlasting hills, the fil ing of theval eys to make the ground level so that Israel can walk safely in God's glory.
8 Et les forêts, et tous arbres de senteur feront de l'ombre pour Israël, sur l'ordre de Dieu;	8 And the forests and every fragrant tree wil provide shade for Israel, at God's command;
9 car Dieu guidera Israël dans la joie, à la lumière de sa gloire, avec la miséricorde et la justice quiviennent de lui.	9 for God wil guide Israel in joy by the light of his glory, with the mercy and saving justice which comefrom him.
