Deuteronomy 14

1 Be ye children of the Lord your God: you shall not cut yourselves, no, make any baldness for the dead;	1 VOI siete figliuoli del Signore Iddio vostro; non vi fate tagliature addosso, e non vi dipelate fra gli occhi, per alcun morto.
2 Because thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God: and he chose thee to be his peculiar people of all nations that are upon the earth.	2 Conciossachè tu sii un popolo santo al Signore Iddio tuo; e il Signore ti ha eletto d’infra tutti i popoli che son sopra la terra, per essergli un popolo peculiare.
3 Eat not the things that are unclean.	3 Non mangiar cosa alcuna abbominevole.
4 These are the beasts that you shall eat, the ox, and the sheep, and the goat,	4 Queste son le bestie, delle quali voi potrete mangiare: il bue, la pecora, la capra,
5 The hart and the roe, the buffle, the chamois, the pygarg, the wild goat, the camelopardalus.	5 il cervo, il cavriuolo, la gran capra, la rupicapra, il daino, il bufalo, e la camozza.
6 Every beast that divideth the hoof in two parts, and cheweth the cud, you shall eat.	6 In somma, voi potrete mangiar d’ogni bestia che ha il piè forcuto, e l’unghia spartita in due, e che rumina.
7 But of them that chew the cud, but divide not the hoof, you shall not eat, such as the camel, the hare, and the cherogril: because they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof, they shall be unclean to you.	7 Ma fra quelle che ruminano, o hanno il piè forcuto, e l’unghia spartita, non mangiate del cammello, nè della lepre, nè del coniglio; conciossiachè ruminino, ma non abbiano l’unghia spartita; sienvi immondi;
8 The swine also, because it divideth the hoof, but cheweth not the cud, shall be unclean, their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch.	8 nè del porco; conciossiachè egli abbia l’unghia spartita, ma non rumini; siavi immondo. Non mangiate della carne di questi animali, e non toccate i lor corpi morti.
9 These shall you eat of all that abide in the waters: All that have fins and scales, you shall eat.	9 Di tutti gli animali che son nell’acque, voi potrete mangiar di queste specie, cioè: di tutte quelle che hanno pennette e scaglie;
10 Such as are without fins and scales, you shall not eat, because they are unclean.	10 ma non mangiate di alcuna che non ha pennette e scaglie; sienvi immondi.
11 All birds that are clean you shall eat.	11 Voi potrete mangiar d’ogni uccello mondo.
12 The unclean eat not: to wit, the eagle, and the grype, and the osprey,	12 E questi son quelli de’ quali non dovete mangiare, cioè: l’aquila, e il girifalco, e l’aquila marina,
13 The ringtail, and the vulture, and the kite according to their kind:	13 ogni specie di falcone, e di nibbio, e d’avoltoio,
14 And all of the raven's kind:	14 e ogni specie di corvo,
15 And the ostrich, and the owl, and the larus, and the hawk according to its kind:	15 e l’ulula, e la civetta, e la folica, e ogni specie di sparviere,
16 The heron, and the swan, and the stork,	16 e il gufo, e l’ibis, e il cigno,
17 And the cormorant, the porphirion, and the night crow,	17 e il pellicano, e la pica, e lo smergo,
18 The bittern, and the charadrion, every one in their kind: the hoop also and the bat.	18 e la cicogna, e ogni specie d’aghirone, e l’upupa, e il vipistrello.
19 Every thing that creepeth, and hath little wings, shall be unclean, and shall not be eaten.	19 Siavi parimente immondo ogni rettile volatile; non mangisene.
20 All that is clean, you shall eat.	20 Voi potrete mangiar d’ogni volatile mondo.
21 But whatsoever is dead of itself, eat not thereof. Give it to the stranger, that is within thy gates, to eat, or sell it to him: because thou art the holy people of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in the milk of his dam.	21 Non mangiate d’alcuna carne morta da sè; dalla a mangiare al forestiere che sarà dentro alle tue porte, o vendila ad alcuno straniere; perciocchè tu sei un popol santo al Signore Iddio tuo. Non cuocere il capretto nel latte di sua madre
22 Every year thou shalt set aside the tithes of all thy fruits that the earth bringeth forth,	22 DEL tutto leva la decima di tutta la rendita della tua sementa, prodotta dal campo tuo, ogni anno.
23 And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose, that his name may be called upon therein, the tithe of thy corn, and thy wine, and thy oil, and the firstborn of thy herds and thy sheep: that thou mayst learn to fear the Lord thy God at all times.	23 E mangia davanti al Signore Iddio tuo, nel luogo ch’egli avrà scelto per istanziarvi il suo Nome, le decime del tuo frumento, del tuo mosto, e del tuo olio, e i primi parti del tuo grosso e minuto bestiame; acciocchè tu impari a temere il Signore Iddio tuo del continuo.
24 But when the way and the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, are far off, and he hath blessed thee, and thou canst not carry all these things thither,	24 E se il cammino ti è troppo grande, sì che tu non possa portar quelle decime, per esser quel luogo, che il Signore Iddio tuo avrà scelto per mettervi il suo Nome, troppo lontano da te; perciocchè il Signore ti avrà benedetto;
25 Thou shalt sell them all, and turn them into money, and shalt carry it in thy hand, and shalt go to the place which the Lord shall choose :	25 fanne danari, e metti quegli in borsa, e prendili in mano, e va’ al luogo che il Signore tuo avrà scelto;
26 And thou shalt buy with the same money whatsoever pleaseth thee, either of the herds or of sheep, wine also and strong drink, and all that thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, and shalt feast, thou and thy house:	26 e impiega que’ danari in tutto quello che l’anima tua desidererà, in buoi, in pecore, in vino, e in cervogia, e in somma in qualunque cosa l’anima tua richiederà; e mangia quivi davanti al Signore Iddio tuo, e rallegrati tu e la tua famiglia.
27 And the Levite that is within thy gates, beware thou forsake him not, because he hath no other part in thy possession.	27 E non abbandonare il Levita che sarà dentro alle tue porte; conciossiachè egli non abbia nè parte nè eredità teco.
28 The third year thou shalt separate another tithe of all things that grow to thee at that time, and shalt lay it up within thy gates.	28 In capo d’ogni terzo anno, leva tutte le decime della tua entrata di quell’anno, e riponle dentro alle tue porte.
29 And the Levite that hath no other part nor possession with thee, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow, that are within thy gates, shall come and shall eat and be filled: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the works of thy hands that thou shalt do.	29 E venga il Levita conciossiachè egli non abbia nè parte nè eredità teco, e il forestiere, e l’orfano e la vedova, che saranno dentro alle tue porte, e mangino, e sieno saziati; acciocchè il Signore Iddio tuo ti benedica in ogni opera delle tue mani che tu farai
