1 Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,	1 - E tu intona una lamentazione sui principi d'Israele, e dirai:
2 And say: Why did thy mother the lioness lie down among the lions, and bring up her whelps in the midst of young lions?	2 - Perchè tua madre come leonessasi accovacciò tra i leoni, in mezzo ai lioncelliallevò i suoi parti?
3 And she brought out one of her whelps, and he became a lion: and he learned to catch the prey, and to devour men.	3 Trasse fuori uno dei suoi lioncellie diventò leone e imparò a predare e a divorare gli uomini.
4 And the nations heard of him, and took him, but not without receiving wounds: and they brought him in chains into the land of Egypt.	4 E le genti udirono parlare di lui, e non senza riportarne ferite lo catturarono, e stretto in catene, lo trascinarono sul suolo d'Egitto.
5 But she seeing herself weakened, and that her hope was lost, took one of her young lions, and set him up for a lion.	5 Vedendosi allora senza sostegnoe che la sua speranza era perduta, prese un altro dei suoi lioncellie lo pose a far da leone.
6 And he went up and down among the lions, and became a lion: and he learned to catch the prey, and to devour men.	6 Egli incedeva tra i leonie diventò leone e imparò a predare e a divorare gli uomini.
7 He learned to make widows, and to lay waste their cities: and the land became desolate, and the fulness thereof by the noise of his roaring.	7 Imparò a far delle vedove e a disertare le città, e la terra coi suoi abitatori fu in desolazioneal suono del suo ruggito.
8 And the nations Game together against him on every side out of the provinces, and they spread their net over him, in their wounds he was taken.	8 E si radunarono contro di lui le gentida tutte in giro le province, e gettarono sopra di lui la loro rete, e dopo vicendevoli ferite, fu catturato.
9 And they put him into a cage, they brought him in chains to the king of Babylon: and they cast him into prison, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.	9 E lo chiusero in una gabbiae incatenato lo condussero al re di Babiloniae lo misero in carcere, affinchè la sua voce più non risonassesopra i monti d'Israele.
10 Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood planted by the water: her fruit and her branches have grown out of many waters.	10 Tua madre era come una vigna piena di linfaera stata piantata sul margine dell'acqua: i suoi frutti e le sue fronde erano cresciutiper l'abbondanza di acque.
11 And she hath strong rods to make sceptres for them that bear rule, and her stature was exalted among the branches: and she saw her height in the multitude of her branches.	11 E i virgulti le si fecero solidida poter essere scettri di dominatorie il suo fusto si elevò d'in tra le fronde e vide la sua elevatezzanella gran copia che aveva di pampini.
12 But she was plucked up in wrath, and cast on the ground, and the burning wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods are withered, and dried up: the fire hath devoured her.	12 Ma poi fu svelta furiosamente e sbattuta al suolo, e il vento infocato seccò il suo prodotto, avvizzirono e si seccarono i suoi rampolli rigogliosi, il fuoco li consumò.
13 And now she is transplanted into the desert, in a land not passable, and dry.	13 E ora fu trapiantata in un desertoin un terreno incolto e riarso.
14 And a fire is gone out from a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit: so that she now hath no strong rod, to be a sceptre of rulers. This is a lamentation, and it shall be for a lamentation.	14 Un fuoco è uscito da un virgulto de' suoi ramie le consumò il prodotto, e in essa più non rimase ramo forteda scettro di dominatori. Questa è una lamentazione e servirà da lamentazione -».
