DOUAI-RHEIMS	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Aleph. How doth the city sit solitary that was full of people! how is the mistress of the Gentiles become as a widow: the princes of provinces made tributary!	1 [[Alef] ¡Cómo está solitaria la ciudad populosa! Se ha quedado como una viuda la grande entre las naciones; la princesa entre las provincias tiene que pagar tributo.
2 Beth. Weeping she hath wept in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: there is none to comfort her among all them that were dear to her: all her friends have despised her, and are become her enemies.	2 [Bet] Pasa la noche llorando, las lágrimas corren por sus mejillas. No hay nadie que la consuele entre todos los que la amaban: todos sus amigos la han traicionado, se han convertido en enemigos.
3 Ghimel. Juda hath removed her dwelling place because of her affliction, and the greatness of her bondage: she hath dwelt among the nations, and she hath found no rest: all her persecutors have taken her in the midst of straits.	3 [Guímel] Judá está desterrada, en la miseria y en la más dura esclavitud. Ella habita entre las naciones, sin encontrar un descanso. Todos sus perseguidores la alcanzaron en angostos desfiladeros.
4 Daleth. The ways of Sion mourn, because there are none that come to the solemn feast: all her gates are broken down: her priests sigh: her virgins are in affliction, and she is oppressed with bitterness.	4 [Dálet] Los caminos de Sión están de duelo, porque nadie acude a las fiestas. Todas sus puertas están desoladas, gimen sus sacerdotes, sus vírgenes están afligidas, ¡y qué amargura hay en ella!
5 He. Her adversaries are become her lords, her enemies are enriched: because the Lord hath spoken against her for the multitude of her iniquities: her children are led into captivity: before the face of the oppressor.	5 [He] Sus adversarios han prevalecido, sus enemigos están tranquilos, porque el Señor la ha llenado de aflicción por sus muchas rebeldías. Sus niños han partido al cautiverio delante del adversario.
6 Vau. And from the daughter of Sion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like rams that find no pastures: and they are gone away without strength before the face of the pursuer.	6 [Vau] La hija de Sión ha perdido todo su esplendor. Sus príncipes parecían ciervos que no encuentran donde pastar: iban caminando sin fuerzas delante del perseguidor.
7 Zain. Jerusalem hath remembered the days of her affliction, and prevarication of all her desirable things which she had from the days of old, when her people fell in the enemy's hand, and there was no helper: the enemies have seen her, and have mocked at her sabbaths.	7 [Zain] Jerusalén recuerda sus días de miseria y de vida errante, cuando cayó su pueblo en poder del adversario, sin que nadie la socorriera. Sus adversarios la miraban y se reían de su ruina.
8 Heth. Jerusalem hath grievously sinned, therefore is she become unstable: all that honoured her have despised her, because they have seen her shame: but she sighed and turned backward.	8 [Jet] Jerusalén ha pecado gravemente y se ha convertido en algo inmundo. Los que la honraban la consideran despreciable, porque han visto su desnudez; también ella gime y se vuelve hacia atrás.
9 Teth. Her filthiness is on her feet, and she hath not remembered her end: she is wonderfully cast down, not having a comforter: behold, O Lord, my affliction, because the enemy is lifted up.	9 [Tet] ¡Hasta en sus vestidos aparece su impureza! ¡Ella no pensó en el futuro, y cayó de manera portentosa, sin que nadie la consolara! «¡Mira, Señor, mi opresión porque triunfa el enemigo!».
10 Jod. The enemy hath put out his hand to all her desirable things: for she hath seen the Gentiles enter into her sanctuary, of whom thou gavest commandment that they should not enter into thy church.	10 [Iod] El adversario extendió su mano hacia todos sus tesoros. ¡Sí, ella ha visto a los paganos entrar en su Santuario, aunque tú mismo habías prohibido que entraran en tu asamblea!
11 Caph. All her people sigh, they seek bread: they have given all their precious things for food to relieve the soul: see, O Lord, and consider, for I am become vile.	11 [Caf] Todo su pueblo va gimiendo en busca de pan; dan sus tesoros a cambio de alimento para recobrar sus fuerzas. «¡Mira, Señor, y fíjate cómo estoy envilecida!».
12 Lamed. O all ye that pass by the way, attend, and see if there be any sorrow like to my sorrow: for he hath made a vintage of me, as the Lord spoke in the day of his fierce anger.	12 [Lámed] ¡Todos ustedes, los que pasan por el camino, fíjense bien y miren si hay un dolor comparable al mío: a este dolor que me atormenta, porque el Señor ha querido afligirme en el día de su furor!
13 Mem. From above he hath sent fire into my bones, and hath chastised me: he hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: he hath made me desolate, wasted with sorrow all the day long.	13 [Mem] El envió un fuego desde lo alto, lo hizo bajar hasta mis huesos. Tendió una red a mis pies, me hizo retroceder. Me convirtió en una desolación, estoy siempre dolorida.
14 Nun. The yoke of my iniquities hath watched: they are folded together in his hand, and put upon my neck: my strength is weakened: the Lord hath delivered me into a hand out of which I am not able to rise.	14 [Nun] El ha vigilado mis rebeldías, ellas se entrelazan en su mano. Su yugo está sobre mi cuello, hace flaquear mi fuerza. El Señor me ha puesto en unas manos a las que no puedo resistir.
15 Samech. The Lord hath taken away all my mighty men out of the midst of me: he hath called against me the time, to destroy my chosen men: the Lord hath trodden the winepress for the virgin daughter of Juda.	15 [Sámec] El Señor derribó a mis valientes, que estaban dentro de mí. Convocó contra mí una asamblea para destrozar a mis jóvenes. El Señor pisoteó en el lagar a la virgen hija de Judá.
16 Ain. Therefore do I weep, and my eyes run down with water: because the comforter, the relief of my soul, is far from me: my children are desolate because the enemy hath prevailed.	16 [Ain] A causa de esto, estoy llorando, mis ojos se deshacen en llanto, porque está lejos de mí el consolador que podría reanimarme. Mis hijos están desolados, porque triunfa el enemigo.
17 Phe. Sion hath spread forth her hands, there is none to comfort her: the Lord hath commanded against Jacob, his enemies are round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.	17 [Pe] Sión extiende sus manos, pero nadie la consuela. El Señor dio órdenes contra Jacob a sus adversarios de alrededor. Jerusalén ha llegado a ser una cosa inmunda en medio de ellos.
18 Sade. The Lord is just, for I have provoked his mouth to wrath: hear, I pray you, all ye people, and see my sorrow: my virgins, and my young men are gone into captivity.	18 [Sade] Pero el Señor es justo, porque yo fui rebelde a su palabra. ¡Oigan bien, todos los pueblos, y miren mi dolor! Mis vírgenes y mis jóvenes han partido al cautiverio.
19 Coph. I called for my friends, but they deceived me: my priests and my ancients pined away in the city: while they sought their food, to relieve their souls.	19 [Qof] Llamé a mis amantes, pero ellos me engañaron. Mis sacerdotes y mis ancianos han expirado en la ciudad, mientras buscaban alimento para recobrar sus fuerzas.
20 Res. Behold, O Lord, for I am in distress, my bowels are troubled: my heart is turned within me, for I am full of bitterness: abroad the sword destroyeth, and at home there is death alike.	20 [Res] ¡Mira, Señor, cómo estoy angustiada, me hierven las entrañas! Mi corazón se conmueve en mi interior, porque he sido rebelde. Afuera, me priva de hijos la espada, adentro, la muerte.
21 Sin. They have heard that I sigh, and there is none to comfort me: all my enemies have heard of my evil, they have rejoiced that thou hast done it: thou hast brought a day of consolation, and they shall be like unto me.	21 [Sin] ¡Oigan cómo estoy gimiendo, sin que nadie me consuele! Todos mis enemigos, al oír mi desgracia, se alegraron de lo que has hecho. ¡Que llegue el Día que tú has anunciado, y que ellos estén igual que yo!
22 Thau. Let all their evil be present before thee: and make vintage of them, as thou hast made vintage of me for all my iniquities: for my sighs are many, and my heart is sorrowful.	22 [Tau] ¡Que llegue hasta tu presencia toda su maldad! Trátalos como me trataste a mí por todas mis rebeldías, porque son muchos mis gemidos y mi corazón está sufriendo.
