DOUAI-RHEIMSNOVA VULGATA
1 Unto the end, for Idithun, a psalm of Asaph.1 Magistro chori. Secundum Idithun. Asaph. Psalmus.
2 I cried to the Lord with my voice; to God with my voice, and he gave ear to me.2 Voce mea ad Dominum clamavi;
voce mea ad Deum, et intendit mihi.
3 In the day of my trouble I sought God, with my hands lifted up to him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be comforted:3 In die tribulationis meae Deum exquisivi,
manus meae nocte expansae sunt
et non fatigantur.
Renuit consolari anima mea;
4 I remembered God, and was delighted, and was exercised, and my spirit swooned away.4 memor sum Dei et ingemisco,
exerceor, et deficit spiritus meus.
5 My eyes prevented the watches: I was troubled, and I spoke not.5 Vigiles tenuisti palpebras oculi mei; turbatus sum et non sum locutus.
6 I thought upon the days of old: and I had in my mind the eternal years.6 Cogitavi dies antiquos
et annos aeternos in mente habui.
7 And I meditated in the night with my own heart: and I was exercised and I swept my spirit.7 Meditatus sum nocte cum corde meo
et exercitabar et scobebam spiritum meum.
8 Will God then cast off for ever? or will he never be more favourable again?8 Numquid in aeternum proiciet Deus,
aut non apponet, ut complacitior sit adhuc?
9 Or will he cut off his mercy for ever, from generation to generation?9 Aut deficiet in finem misericordia sua,
cessabit verbum a generatione in generationem?
10 Or will God forget to shew mercy? or will he in his anger shut up his mercies?10 Aut obliviscetur misereri Deus,
aut continebit in ira sua misericordias suas?
11 And I said, Now have I begun: this is the change of the right hand of the most High.11 Et dixi: “ Hoc vulnus meum:
mutatio dexterae Excelsi ”.
12 I remembered the works of the Lord: for I will be mindful of thy wonders from the beginning.12 Memor ero operum Domini,
memor ero ab initio mirabilium tuorum.
13 And I will meditate on all thy works: and will be employed in thy inventions.13 Et meditabor in omnibus operibus tuis
et in adinventionibus tuis exercebor.
14 Thy way, O God, is in the holy place: who is the great God like our God?14 Deus, in sancto via tua;
quis deus magnus sicut Deus noster?
15 Thou art the God that dost wonders. Thou hast made thy power known among the nations:15 Tu es Deus, qui facis mirabilia,
notam fecisti in populis virtutem tuam.
16 with thy arm thou hast redeemed thy people the children of Jacob and of Joseph.16 Redemisti in brachio tuo populum tuum,
filios Iacob et Ioseph.
17 The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee: and they were afraid, and the depths were troubled.17 Viderunt te aquae, Deus,
viderunt te aquae et doluerunt;
etenim commotae sunt abyssi.
18 Great was the noise of the waters: the clouds sent out a sound. For thy arrows pass:18 Effuderunt aquas nubila,
vocem dederunt nubes,
etenim sagittae tuae transeunt.
19 the voice of thy thunder in a wheel. Thy lightnings enlightened the world: the earth shook and trembled.19 Vox tonitrui tui in rota;
illuxerunt coruscationes tuae orbi terrae,
commota est et contremuit terra.
20 Thy way is in the sea, and thy paths in many waters: and thy footsteps shall not be known.20 In mari via tua, et semitae tuae in aquis multis;
et vestigia tua non cognoscuntur.
21 Thou hast conducted thy people like sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron21 Deduxisti sicut oves populum tuum
in manu Moysi et Aaron.
